It was alarming to hear Phil Goff on TVNZ the other night who said “The gangs can shoot at each other as much as they like”, as if their pharmaceutical war is somehow being played out separately from community spaces and that the gangs somehow have a right to shoot others in public. And speaking of drug wars, Jacinda stated today that she is reluctant to introduce gang bans similar to Australian policies which severely restrict gang associations, gatherings, communications, symbols and terrorism, Jacinda saying she “wasn’t sure stricter laws would make a difference” and that targeting organised crime might be “too narrow a focus” (RNZ, 2022). Incredible. Mere months ago New Zealand citizens couldn’t walk the streets without a mask and a reason, or leave their location because of he-man covid roadblocks, or participate in society because some unelected health nazi had taken possession of your body, and Ardern waved her magîc wand and instantly enacted unprecedented sweeping laws for a mild illness with minor risk. But now the public are left to their own devices against gun toting maniacs shooting up the city and the government is softly softly on immediate threats to civil society? I’m guessing Ardern and her lot doesn’t have the backing of bureaucracy, woke unions, power mad micro managers, ocd health administrators, comfortable middle class on tier two welfare and uptight curtain twitchers for these policy changes, against actual threats. But as before, selling drugs seems to be at the core of the problem.

Jody you were making good points until you started on that unelected nazi health thing ‘taken possession of your body’ – huh. What… blardy blah …. has taken possession of the neural circuits of your brain? Sometimes we all need to act together and the ones who won’t are like a crack in the wall that keeps all safe, a small leak becomes a flood. It is so obvious that only concentrated amounts of anti-social propaganda that has turned the minds of people who are significant to you have smothered your personal thought.
It isn’t wrong to think differently to people close to you, we aren’t programmed ants. But looking at how we people behave I am beginning to think that ants have better lives. Our thoughts can be either narrow and strangling or wide-ranging and disaffecting, end up torturing us. In the 21st century we are still brutal and meretricious entities able to be hypnotised by shiny things or shiny thoughts and ideas that our brain’s pleasure centres react to and we react to that.
