ACT Leader David Seymour, defends meeting with anti-mandate protesters, slams Government’s response

ACT Party leader David Seymour is defending himself after facing criticism for meeting with anti-mandate protesters in Wellington.

Seymour said he decided to meet with the protesters after Alistair Boyce, the owner of the Backbencher pub asked him to. Boyce was forced to close his pub near Parliament due to protesters hurling abuse at his staff last week. But Seymour said Boyce now believed the more “odious” protesters have left and he wanted to meet with them to ensure he could reopen without issue.

Seymour, who was joined by ACT MP Nicole McKee, said the conditions he delivered to the protesters included removing vehicles blocking the roads around Parliament and Victoria University, and a guarantee that no more people passing by would be harassed.

But the meeting drew ire from Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern who said it was “irresponsible”.

Wait – what?

Seymour is getting criticism for trying to de-escalate this feral lunacy but Mallard get’s none for inflaming it?

OH COME ON – this is just tribal bullshit now!

The Twitter Woke don’t just want the protestors removed, they want the protestors beaten & punished for being Nazis!

So everyone protesting at Parliament is a Nazi?

Anyone who challenges that narrative is a Nazi?

And anyone who questions that is also a Nazi?

That is a lot of Nazis!

This is what we on the Left is now.

Trev’s Thursday Stupid Thursday created a common enemy & produced a recruitment drive yet it’s Seymour getting criticised?

The modern left are middle class, they have benefitted from work from home because they have nice homes. The perverse outcome of Government Covid support has made the rich far far far richer while those on Parliament’s lawns have suffered.

This spectrum of working class dispossessed, the ones who have borne the harshest yoke of vaccine mandates economically and socially, they have had their misery harvested by Far Right Steve Bannon inspired propaganda and Qanon mysticism, of that there can be no doubt.

While their pain may be self inflicted and emotionally manipulated by the Far Right, it is the reality that they have been left behind economically, Bernard fucking Hickey pointed this out!

Wealthy nearly $1 trillion richer since Covid began – Hickey

A revolution came to Parliament, but the middle class Left were the ones who were revolted.

“Let the ruling classes tremble at Communistic revolution. The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains. They have a world to win. Workers of all countries, unite! Except in Wellington. Those Lumpenproletariat Nazis can go fuck themselves”

  1. Has this just dawned on you now Bomber. There was a reason for Trump 2016 (and 2024) and Brexit.

There will also be a reason for Trudeu, Ardern and possibly Macron getting shitkicked from government next election. The right has moved to the party of the workers; the left to the elite.

There are always more workers than queen bees and the only thing holding up the left is the hold they have on ethnic minorities.

    • Until of course they are elected, then the right most definitely aren’t the party for the workers, the Key coalition Government proved that time and time again.

    • You cannot be serious?
There is no left party in the NZ parliament. They are all right wing/authoritarian.
      Certainly no party for workers.

      • Act National and right wing govts around the world have a track record of Supporting revenue gutting tax havens and creating gaping loopholes in the tax legislation they pass into law ,,,, all while inflicting harmful Austerity upon citizens and society who must pay for ‘balancing the books,,, the fraudulent criminal wankers.
        https://www.stuff.co.nz/good-reads/8515361/Money-trail-leads-home-to-New-Zealand

Another example of the debased greed and profit before all else morality,,,, is the denial of medicine and the scuttling of any worldwide collaborative effort to fight the threat, that epidemics present to all of us with our collective biology.

Big Pharma with Govt collusion prevented hundreds of millions if not Billions of people from having access to vaccines. This profit maximizing undoubtedly sentenced untold poor people
        to death….

        ….Their huge success in supply
obstruction resulted in mass n0n-vaccination,,, and makes ‘the hated anti-vaxxers’ efforts pale into near nothingness when compared,,, the Official Enemy ’anti vaxers’ are a diversionary side show of amateurs.

Big pharmas anti-vax decisions and actions are far far far worse than any anti-vaxer ,,,, because they are NOT deluded,,, they KNOW the science of modern medicine and are still choosing profit gouging at the expense of effective global public health strategy’s ,,,, and the mass death among the worlds poor.

We all know which side the Nats/Act stand with in a choice between Profits versus People
        https://youtu.be/-redDupJC6w?t=182

        ,***************^****************

In reality Labour achieved world beating lowest Covid deaths per head of population,,they prevented and contained the more lethal original variants of Covid from getting out of control
and overrunning our communities before a vaccine was developed and then delivered to us ,, they have achieved high vaccination rates and levels of protection in our population.

If they can can adapt nimbly to the rapidly changing environment that Omnicron will bring about,,, then it is likely that our highly protected status combined with our ONLY wave of Covid being the mildest variant ,,,,, that this will have Labour getting NZ a gold medal for the most successful Covid defense and public health protection from it in the world.

        Well done us.

As long as Labour don’t go all mad dog mallard at this beginning of the end ,,,,then the changing environment will allow them to relax rules and requirements in the evolving near future without losing face,,,,, and eventually ending up where the protesters want to be.

    • What a load of sh*t frank. Pure fantasy. The right is NEVER on the side of the worker, whomever that may be these days.

And this talk of elitism and antiintellectualism in these forums – pure tall poppy sneering from those who should know better.

The real conspiracy is the one enacted by the right and far right to destroy democracy.

Sadly, all I see on these forums are those spreading misinformation or those acting like schoolyard bullies trying to shut down areas they feel threatened by.

Climate change, racism, the rise of the far right and fascism – that’s what we should be concerned about. Not the bullshit you spout Frank.

      • Something stuck in your craw there Dazza?

It’s OK it will be over in 6 months time – the narrative is failing and soon mandates will be gone, Jacinda will eject over New York and the poor man’s Gordon Brown will have 9-odd months being as popular as Trump in a Californian Yoga studio trying to explain how he pissed 100B up against a middle class corporate wall.

        Good Times

    • >the right has moved to the party of the workers, the left to the elite

      This

      Thank you, Frank The Tank

      Major Food for Thought

    • Still as deluded as ever it seems.. This is getting ridiculous.. Middle class being the “new left”? This qualifies as the stupidest thing I’ve heard since Last week, and when it comes to NZ politics, that’s a long time to wait… The one thing that has stuck out since day one of me being trapped in this rather quaint, but utterly munted country, is just how misguided the debates are here, and the idiotic insistance of relabelling what is right wing attitudes, and behaviour into left wing behaviour… How does this level of rank stupidity even get a foothold in a supposedly “mature” society? Answer.. There has to be a mature society to start with… Not seeing it… What i am seeing is a bunch of yokels who think they are connected with the power… Earth to yokels.. Uncle john may own the national party, but their agenda has been carried out.. NZ, and it’s people are nothing more than a useful bit of real estate now… If the Usa is trapped into going to war with China, then NZ will be a staging post for whoever gets here first in numbers.. Key knows this, and has known this for years.. Adern knows this as well.. She knows exactly how much NZ was sold out to overseas interests, and just how hard it’s going to be to do anything about it.. Enjoy it tory dimwits. You supported this. I hope you’ve all learnt to speak at least passable Mandarin…

      • So your beloved get’s a free pass because it’s “too hard”. LOL. That’s tribalism right there.

As for your assertions – we have had whole suburbs dominated by ethnic groups in Auckland since the late 1990’s – the “Asian Invasion” is hardly a new phenomenon.

I’m beginning to think it’s the left that are the tinfoil hat brigade – from the PM down there is all of a sudden a vast right wing conspiracy headed by Trump and Bannon even though there is more evidence of the Yeti.

Perhaps just perhaps the great unwashed just don’t like your policies and your actions……

    • 100% Frank

The left has for years sneered at these people for being ‘populist’, like as if popular policies weren’t a cornerstone of democracy? It also implies those using the term are elitist. They went to university and did a degree in ‘gender studies’ or ‘communications’ don’t you know! LOL

  2. And now the minister on Cancel Bike Bridges, M Woods is making snarky reference to rivers of …. everywhere!
Claims anti sementism and Semitism and diarrhoea flowing everywhere!

There’s more coming out of his mouth! So labours stratagem is to ‘Triple-Down!”

This is a cluster at the moment. So what ‘verb’ are we going to use when this all fails?

  3. It has only ever been tribal bullshit, Labours tribal bullshit. The Queen of hearts is naked, and all the children point it out, but still the courtiers wanting their admission ot the chardonnay parties will not dare state the obviously. The Queen, err emperor, is indeed stark naked and out of ideas/touch.

  4. Martyn, what about the Local Body Elections? Could one of your team speak (write) to that.

Protesters are obviously unable to enter council facilities, they are also seemingly unable to run for council either.

    Surely this undermines democracy.

  5. See- more cares about humans but his Act parties mean policies don’t reflect a caring nature or attitude towards humans nah! He is worm that has crawled out from his hole cause Rodney Hide barked.

  6. A top level meeting is being held about the protestor groups around the country and where is Jacinda ? She is in Rotorua. .This situation is showing how weak our leadership is when the shit hits the fan. I am completely against the protest but can understand their pain .They cannot be denied or denigrated some type of olive leaf . There will be more protests coming as people lose patients with high rent and food 3 Waters and a number of other contentious issues .z now people can see a valid opposition demonstrations will be bigger than Ben Hur

        • Maddog Mallard would charge in to defend his queen’s honour. Followed by big Poppa Nashy. Fester would be smirking off to the side with honest John silently holding the invisible lead. Poor man’s Gordon Brown would be at the back performing mental gymnastics on whether joining the fray would be more beneficial for being the next PM.

The left wouod be guaranteed victory until the Big Brownlee decides to climb to the top turnbuckle with woke Coster desperately trying to ask him nicely to come down cause Jacinda told it was illegal.

    • Well they can have there say Trev at the ballot box and vote for who they think can deliver better. As for people losing their patients well too bad they can fucken taiho till the majority have had any opportunity to get vaccinated and stop being so f… n selfish.

    • She was in Rotorua digging holes. Maike Sherman asked her if the Government had dug themselves a hole re the protests and Jacinda scoffed and turned her back and showed the thin hair of her illusion

      • Yes she was in Rotorua digging holes and isn’t that what many NZers asked for, they wanted out PM and her political party to start addressing issues like jobs and homes.

  7. “Wait – what? Seymour gets criticised for trying to de-escalate but Mallard gets none for enflaming it?”
    Well, yeah…Duh. Why so surprised?
Neoliberal-captalist Labour and neoliberal-capitalist National with neoliberal-capitalist ACT as the money fetishist wart growing on National’s arse are playing games with us.
When is the moment of understanding of that going to flash across your screens?
Labour is still neoliberal, National was always neoliberal but they needed to use Labour to infect our unions, our primary industry farmers and our media otherwise we’d a seen them coming.
Who saw roger douglas and his cronies coming from within Lange’s Labour? Not even Lange himself realised what was going on until it was too late. That’s why Lange quit as prime minister. I listened to his speech on the radio!
douglas unhooked his suckers off Labour, dropped off into the underground then went into the deep dark forest and came back as ACT.
And remember…? mallard’s a neoliberal sycophant. He and fucking awful seymour are playing a tag-team with you and me as we watch on in bewildered shock.
It’s what they want! It’s what they desperately need.
The Neoliberal faction supplanted in, then grew out of, Labour has robbed us of nearly forty years of peace and prosperity in our AO/NZ and has caused unnecessary suffering in many, many households just to get their soft pink little hands on our money. We should all be extremely angry.

  8. One more thing…
    Is this interesting?
    Russell Brand.
As the “freedom convoy” sparks an unlikely global movement, police in Canada have started to make arrests. But how has it come to this, and is the trend of by leaders of deriding protesters the way to solve this obvious societal tensions?
    https://youtu.be/jMC_8q49rlM

  9. I agee with you Martyn. The PM needs to publically criticise the Speaker’s actions; and thank David Seymour for being prepared to accept the protest situation as it is now; it has undoubtedly mutated into something more coherent than when it started. If the pandemic continues on its current trajectory I would hope the need for mandates will disappear sometime late this year. I am in favour of the present mandates but wonder if a system similar to the maternity leave would be possible; it wouldn’t of course be paid, but would gauntee a return (with some conditions needed to cover future developments) to the position when mandates are lifted. To arbitrarily lose, long term, the knowledge and experience of unvaccinated staff will not be in the long term interests of the country.

    • Stop it. You’re being just like the rest of the ‘two weeks to flatten the curve’ people. The ones who predicted 80,000 deaths. We’ve had 53 deaths ‘with’ Covid. Three of which were tested post-mortem.

We need to be asking some serious questions of our leaders.

      • Yes CR, only 53 deaths and our hospitals were able to keep functioning. It’s simple really, we achieved this extremely low number because of the decisions our leaders made and the fact that a majority of us followed the rules?

      • Look around the world at the death rates and stop being so ignorant. Be grateful and let’s integrate back into the world cleanly

        • The death rates around the world are still high and many countries don’t want others to know how many are dying cause the high numbers will make them look bad.

        • Because WE the people stayed at home and did what must be done. The government fiddled, ordered the jabs late in the game, banned RATs and created a Mandate. You Bert are alive, because THEY the people – He Tangata – sacrificed and thus kept your arse safe.

    • Seymor was showboating in meeting someone (who?) from the mob. He’s getting desperate now that National are beginning to take his support away.

  10. The naked hippy lady with the dreadlocks who proclaims peace and love for the police even after being brutalised by them is the nazi and not the actual police according to the newly confused left right.

  11. Its not the left carrying those nazi flags though is it Jeremy and why would you fly those flags when our country went to war and fought against the nazi. It wasn’t about individualism then, it was a collective effort with our allies. Flying these nazi flags knowing how they hurt and offend many Kiwis and the Jewish community is not only in poor taste its outright stupid and ignorant and in our country should be strongly condemned.

  12. Seymore is an irrelevant and inconsequential. I said last week that these nutter feral losers are his people and that Rodney wanted him to front them. Matt King tried to lead them but they told him to piss off. In thought Pugh and Hipango would be there but they have been locked in a room by luxon. Seymore is only there for votes since he’s down from 17% to 7% in Tory poll. Its easy for him to get up in parliament and say anything he wants, I wonder which country he wants us to follow now. Marty the dirty politics brigade are pushing this boring Mallard matter and they have caught you in their web together with the herald, hate radio talk back, nasty natz and other loons’. Mallard should have got a firehose but the storm supposed to do that and he should have blasted out some Roger Millar songs. Gutless cowardly protesters have still got children among them, but it is a clever move because police and army wont move on prtesters while children could be hurt/killed. No mana among that lot.

    • The relevance of Seymour is that he gains votes because the Nats are pathetic and loses votes when the new Clayton’s leader takes over. So votes one and lost have more to do with National than ACT’S actual credibility. Of course he will take the latte vote.

      • He’s got himself in a pickle over the last few months supporting mandates, masks and the covid narrative whereas his previous supporters don’t. It’s the old shit versus crap argument Bertie – if you already have shit there is no desire to move to crap.

Seymour made a MASSIVE strategic mistake but thinking he could take Act into the mainstream. Uncle Fester has appeared ‘electable’ therefore Seymour and Act had to distinguish themselves – they didn’t. It will be doubly hard to bring these votes back.

  13. Seymour committed the ultimate sin of having political autonomy. He broke from the choreographed routine of well-behaved Parliamentarians who line up diligently behind Jacinda as she gives her speech.

  14. Well they can have there say Trev at the ballot box and vote for who they think can deliver better. As for people losing their patients well too bad they can fucken taiho till the majority have had any opportunity to get vaccinated and stop being so f… n selfish.

  15. The problem here is anything that makes see-more sound sensible should be avoided at all costs.
My view is that there is probably scope for a conversation around general central government settings in regard to covid, and specifically what place mandated vaccination actually has in the overall picture going forwards. Having said this, it does seem rather as if that conversation may take some time to begin given the current “no engagement” position of the prime minister and cabinet, so as pointed out by others commenting here we may see a continuation of the location of ignorance for the foreseeable future.
I am torn by this, because while the convoy and associated location of ignorance has made for the most entertaining season of New Zealand in my lifetime (from my point of view), there is an increasingly strong argument that while protest is a democratic right uncivil disobedience is not.
My message then for the protestors is this.
Some comments made here on this blogsite indicate that you speak for the 1%.
    This just is not true.
On the biggest and best attendance day of your location of ignorance you have not made it past the threshold of 0.03%
You are three hundredths of the one percent.
Again let me say, you may have a point, insomuch as there is scope for conversation around the role of mandated vaccination going forwards, B U T
It must be that if you feel you are the one percent, not the zero point zero three percent that now is the time to scale back the location of ignorance.
Turn it into civil disobedience, which all but the most extreme accept.
The rest of you should disperse back to where you came from and begin other forms of engagement in order seek the support of wider group you claim share your views on mandated vaccination.
If as you claim, there is latent? support for your view, make it visible.
This is the pathway to having your voices heard, not making see-more sound like a viable alternative to anything!!

  16. Love to comment @ Mr Bradbury. Unfortunately at the moment (ATM) I’m glued to the congenital Hipster and his ‘panel’.
Excuse me if I have this overwhelming need to keep in touch with, and down with the movers and shakers.

So far, it’s bloody gorgeous, except I’m really worried I might trigger some gentle annie, and I’d hate to think I might increase her anger levels. But the I have a crystal, and I know someone with a Healey device that could be called into to action to ensure her anger levels are kept at an OM level

  17. And now we have Michael Wood referring to them as a river of filth…….anti sematic, islamophobic……………

Amd tje gpvt cpntinues to shout they are Nazis, nazis. They wrote nasty things about us in chalk, so they must all be Islamophobic, Anti Sematic………..!!!!!
Has he not noticed the Rainbow Flag and the Maori Sovereinty flag in the crowds????

Why don’t they just engage with them. Their manadates have really effected these peoples lives. People like the paramedic I saw on the tele last night. The lesbian bee keeping couple (nazis and anti semites for sure). and the guy who is a physiotherapist from Northland (bound to be Islamophobic sarc)

  18. And now we have Michael Wood referring to them as a river of filth…….anti sematic, islamophobic……………Al

There could well be that element there, but smearing them all is a dirty tactic. And all the more reason to engage with the one’s who are those things.
Has he not noticed the Rainbow Flag and the Maori Sovereinty flag in the crowds???? The Lesbian beekeeper, the physiotherapist and the paramedic?

Why don’t they just engage with them. Their manadates have really effected these peoples lives.

  19. have the maori nationalists noticed who they’re sharing a bed with, cos you can bet their neo nazi temporary mates have.

  20. The PM’s speedy reaction to slag off Seymour was in stark contrast to her deafening silence over Mallard.

Poor leadership or plain deceit and deception?

  21. Ardern has gone too far down the covid hysteria rabbit hole now, she is finding it somewhat difficult to find her way back. I think the correct diagnosis is ‘long covid hysteria’ Bomber, whereupon everywhere she looks she see the nazis. Some of the media have miraculously cured themselves of this affliction by declaring they were against mandates and the big program all along and they are now the good guys. Unfortunately Ardern has it bad and her only hope is to accept Parliament 2/22 is a protest and occupation like Ihumatao, which was recompensed dutifully at 30 million dollars per 81 acres, which means she will need to pay out 444 billion dollars for the other 1.2 million acres of stolen Maori land (at least) before she gets better.

  22. Firstly, Boyce from the backbencher has to guard his words, like all of us in this dystopian nightmare. When he’s talking to the mainstream he may say he’s feeling ‘intimidated’. So am I. I feel intimidated to resign my Labour Party membership. In case they target me for being a Nazi. It feels no different to the John Key Dirty Politics days when we felt afraid to protest the TTPA due to armed police and political rhetoric that we against it were eco-terrorists. Lucky for me, I can’t resign because Fraser House aren’t answering the phones! Probably all cowering at home ‘working by zoom’ (or watching Coronation Street), because they ‘feel unsafe’. Back to Boyce. I get the sense he supports the protestors…other media suggests he was a ‘friendly’ business, who left ‘the heaters on’ during the cyclone that didn’t deter the protestors. It may have been another business may not have been his that had the ‘dry room’ with all the clothing donations…an area protestors could warm up, get dry socks, clean clothes… I’m just a supporter who’s been watching non-mainstream live-streams from people on the ground. But my impression was that Boyce from the Backbencher was a little bit like all the Wellington towies who were ‘isolating’ thus couldn’t help with the towing of protest vehicles, or ‘intimidated’ as reported by MSM. Scanning the breadth of reporting – most of them support the protests. Their clients support the protests. Any towie that tows a protesters car is going to be labelled a Scab. And … don’t get me started on Jacinda’s lies and misinformation. ‘Imported protest’?! Umm…Black Lives Matter? Greta School Strikes? They were also inspired by international events and activities. So was this. This started with the Canadian Trucker Convoy. which ignited inspiration around the world. We are not Nazis. I had a conversation with my daughter last year during the Auckland lockdown. I said ‘I can’t believe we have checkpoints in New Zealand’. She said, ‘Mum, I’m very uncomfortable with you Godwinning me’. I said ‘what are you talking about, Godwin? (Even though I knew exactly what she was accusing me of). She then went on to explain Godwins’ Law and tell me off etc. We have had the left trash the Freedom people for referencing pre-war Hitler suppression of Jews and saying it’s insulting etc. Now it’s convenient to them they pull out the Nazi card and slay us with it, Godwin’s Law be damned. Such double standards. We can’t call them Nazis but they can call us Nazis. And the Freedom protestors at Parliament are most certainly NOT nazis. And how can anyone believe Jacinda when she states/implies this protest is ‘foreign funded’? Does she think we’re stupid? Pro-tip, Jacinda..we have the internet. It’s funded by donations. Physical donations of physical provisions. Food. Gumboots. Raincoats. Phone charger things. Tent pegs. Hay. Plasters. It’s funded by We, The People. The little people. The ones you have forgotten. And if you, Michael Wood, choose to call us a ‘river of filth’, we have other ways of resigning our Party membership, such as handwritten post.

    • If you want to check up on external influence a good way to check is by the signage. Uniform professional signs can be an indicator of external funding. Aside from the blue/green ones, which may have been local printer for all I know, the vast majority of signs for this protest are home made and hand written.

Given the additional footage of the food and clothing situation the funding coming in to this protest is much less likely to be organized groups and more likely to be individual donations en masse.

  23. Boyce was wearing a ‘Join the Resistance’ t-shirt in a recent interview. It’s a misrepresentation to say he is against the resistance

  24. Maybe Jacinda should listen to Pink Floyd and then reconsider her stupid position:
    Us and them
And after all we’re only ordinary men
    Me And you
    God only knows
It’s not what we would choose to do
Forward he cried from the rear
    And the front rank died
    And the general sat
And the lines on the map…etc..etc

  25. Once more the issue of Mallard’s shameful behaviour is being conveniently ignored by using Seymour and Michael Wood’s incautious – or exceedingly cunning – rhetoric as a diversion from the speaker of New Zealand’s Parliament’s barnyard activity apparently being endorsed by the New Zealand Prime Minister, and by Labour’s leadership. This is either cowardly, or it is the new Labour ethos.

If it is now the Labour ethos to behave the Mallard way, then Ardern should say so. She should also say why it is in the interests of New Zealanders to exacerbate situations as he did. We need to know if this is the new norm, lowest common denominator politics, with a known bovver boy like Mallard apparently even appealing to the public to help him harass the demonstrators by recommending their worst songs.

We ‘re not all comfortable having people pitted against each other by divide and rule politicians, and these are not confined to the Labour Party either; the co- leader of the Greens set a very low bar by cashing in on the Muslim massacres to whip up anti-Pakeha sentiment and I am surprised that she is still in a position of leadership; other parties have their own dirty diversions which achieve nothing except to distract voters from bigger issues and keep themselves in power. Not much use being in power when they ignore what they’re there for.

I had thought that if a reasonable number of Labour politicians endorsed a vote of no confidence in the speaker, it would at least show that the party has some integrity, and it is regrettable that Mallard is the spokesman on addressing the protestors’ issues, and that they can’t rustle up a better person.

Whatever Seymour’s intentions in engaging with the protestors, it’s not an activity which would inflame them, so criticising him for doing this is political opportunism which does nothing to help the actual situation.

  26. Have you not been following the news lately? Every man and his dog has been criticising Mallard’s handling of the protest!

    • Napier boy That makes me proud of my menfolk, hearing that. Silence the from women is a deafening sort of noise though – I expected Cindy Commissioner for Children to speak up on their behalf when we all learned that Mr Mallard was keeping sprinklers on the kiddies throughout nights and days, but it looks as if the cat might have got her tongue too, so let’s bring on one of those men with voices as Commissioner for Kids.

      • did mallard drag the kids there? NO, that was the parents, hiding behind their little human shields in the hope it would limit the govts options…it worked. the least harmful option was used.

        • gagarin. Just because parents may have made questionable decisions by taking children to their tent city, is no excuse for Trevor Mallard then subjecting those children to abuse by saturating the ground with water, and playing non-stop music to make their lives unpleasant, and quite likely sleep deprived.

Parents using young children as human shields in the daylight hours is despicable and is sending those kids a terrible message about the so-called carers responsible for them. Government using them as collateral damage is barbaric.

        • gagarin. “ It worked” ? No it didn’t work, it made everything worse.

The protest could have petered out later last week if Mallard hadn’t been so confrontational, ignored police requests to turn the water off, and behaved like a bully. His arrogance towards the protestors gained sympathy for them from right around the country, with more joining, and their numbers are getting bigger and bigger.

  27. FFS fellas. So Trev, in a laudable concern for public hygiene attempted to sanitise the parliaments lawns and give the protestors a little light entertainment at the same time and now he’s causing WW3! Imagine the lawn sprinklers the Central European authorities would use faced with a similar situation.
All Trev is guilty of is an attempt to use a little humour to dampen things down.
Many of you are guilty of buying into the deliberately floated narrative that the protesters walk on the right side of god and with that fawning crap on TV1 last night as evidence, I rest my case.

    • Yes, yes, yes, imagine the foam frothing if Mallard had sent down a hail of bullets!
As I.have said, this is now a commune, no longer a protest and those ex health professionals amongst them, we are grateful they aren’t caring for our vulnerable loved ones any longer. The mandate killed two birds with one stone.

      • Yes Bert, my thoughts when I saw the woman on TV News say she was an “intensive care paramedic” were that their registration authority should review her certification. If she considerers it acceptable to treat people in a super spreader environment without a mask on she is in no way suitable to be performing the role. First, ‘do no harm’, second ‘ensure your own safety’, third ‘ensure the safety of the patient’. She failed all three by not wearing a mask and then was proud to advertise that on TV. Trying to engage in any sort if meaningful dialogue with such people is an exercise in futility.
