A beneficiary in the Herald today was moaning about not being able to buy a new sweater with the small benefit increase, well why can’t she go to the Salvation Army shops. I work and like many other Kiwis we buy from many second hand shops I am sure she will have time to give it a wash.
Oh! also the picture of the beneficiary in the Herald article this morning (moaning about not be able to afford a new jumper) shows the young women with a young child on her hip licking an expensive ice cream so she can’t be that hard done.

The cynical in me, also thinks that the time it can take on public transport may negate any savings and that their technology with HOP is not user friendly at all.
But it is a step in the right direction as a policy for AT!

Has anyone else on this blog had the issue of being called a liar by right wingers when you tell the trurh about your experiences ,and it does not fit their narrative .I used to lease the old Atlas Majestic television factory in Huia rd Otahuhu .When Shipley was prime minister Mercury energy (the old AEPB ) ,got corporatised and my daily line charges went from 20cents a day to $7 day well how else to pay the shiny assed fatcats who were now in control.When I recalled this on Kiwiblog Mr Farrar came out and called me a liar.My son is a project manager ,building 30> 60 $ million aged care facilities all over the East Coast of Australia ,I have worked on 8 of them from Cairns down to Bendigo ,Canberra ,Tugun ,etc etc He has up to 200 tradies on the job at any one time .Over 10 years he has built up a good crew of trusted performers.He built a house for a friend of his mother in law ,a kiwi,to Hurricane standards in Cairns ,his home town in 16 days.The house is in Holloways beach just North of the Airport.Peter Williams had some one ring up and say it was impossible ,so I must be a liar.Sheesh.
