  1. Speaking of rolling out covid vacines, I had a good laugh at the egghead syndrome displayed with Australia’s latest effort. They’ve put together a vaccine that uses a function found in HIV. I kid you not. You won’t actually catch HIV, but if you had a test for it you may get a false positive. Scientifically it’s safe, but only a scientist would understand the science, or be be comforted by it. People still think cellphone towers are calling down aliens and that children are possesed by the devil. You can’t be telling them their vaccine is “made with AIDS”. The PR disaster of either using that route, or announcing it, pretty much wasted their time. Dear scientists, please remember people aren’t you.

  2. Also before I forget, and while I hear waterblasters starting up…
Watercare say people can start washing things with hoses today, and I don’t demand people don’t. However I think they have their predictions wrong, and that the spike of dry weather that took five years reaching a drought peak last summer, won’t suddenly turn into the Great Flood this year. Their publicly available water usage rates don’t support their predictions, but this is nothing new. Metservice real time rain radar is also a constant source of amusement. So I’m holding off washing my gungy looking house, and my now brown deck. The deck is only dangerous when it gets wet, and since I don’t think it’s going to rain much any time soon, there is time to spare. If I’m wrong, nothing lost. If I’m right, then the 1200 litre of water I “save” can instead go onto someone’s prized garden in late summer. If we all suddenly try to move the waikato river to Auckland this afternoon, yeah sure we’ll look cleaner, but we risk another heavier restriction in a month’s time. So do what you want. I won’t yell at you.

  3. Major leak ‘exposes’ members and ‘lifts the lid’ on the Chinese Communist Party

A major leak containing a register with the details of nearly two million CCP members has occurred – exposing members who are now working all over the world, while also lifting the lid on how the party operates under Xi Jinping, says Sharri Markson. Ms Markson said the leak is a register with the details of Communist Party members, including their names, party position, birthday, national ID number and ethnicity. “It is believed to be the first leak of its kind in the world,” the Sky News host said. “What’s amazing about this database is not just that it exposes people who are members of the communist party, and who are now living and working all over the world, from Australia to the US to the UK,” Ms Markson said.

  4. Hypocrite of the week: NZ MoJ for failing to sell their point

Hey how come Andrew Little can go on the telly and declare “the people have spoken” about the non binding, propagandised, slimmest majority cannabis referendum, and essentially scrap all plans for drug reform on the flimsiest of excuses, while his own Ministry staff were secretly dealing the worst drug this country has – meth?

The Ministry of Justice is the hypocrite of the week, and a bloody dangerous one at that.
