GUEST BLOG: Ross Meurant – POLICE BREACH PROTOCOLS

Unquestionably, the virus has impacted severely on us all.

Personally, I think the economic grief is going to be greater than the medical grief.

Because of this sagacity, I recently penned on this blog:

People are under stress.

Some more than others.

Losing one’s employment – is a massive hit.

For those who will lose their small businesses, where risk in starting the business included taking a second mortgage over the family home and often, taking home less money in the hand each week than trusted hard-working employees.

For these Kiwis who have been the biggest employer of fellow New Zealanders, this might be a double whammy.

The chaos which is going to descend upon many, may well result in people losing hope and adopting the attitude: Nothing to Lose.

The comment of the truckie who provided the photo of police at a BP service station in Papakura – and his comments, might be the sort of behaviour by our Guardians, which actually precipitates, rebellion.

  1. So let’s not fool ourselves into thinking that once the virus is under control (even with a vaccine) that everything will just go back to the way it was before the virus. The best case scenario the government succeeds, the virus is under control and we blow another bubble on top of the bubble that helped us out of the virus and we know how that ends.

Best case scenario is a hard world wide recession.

Base case scenario is a global depression

Worst case scenario is worse than all that combined.

  2. Mr. Meurant. Not the first time I have commented on one your blogs; the more you blog the more my perception of you, changes.

Reading this blog, I have to wonder whether I will soon read that you have been arrested for cannabis found on the floor of your car just beneath the steering wheel – like where a cop who stops you and reaches for the ignition keys, could surreptitiously drop a reefer of cannabis?

As I recall, when you last pissed off the police speaking to the Head Hunters
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIfCLAg57kA your car was broken into.

As I recall, the police who investigated this matter and theft of credit cards, claimed they could not identify via the video, the person who used your credit card a petrol station.

As I recall, this was about the same time an enquiry was initiated into private security companies who were being contracted by police to do – ‘stuff’ on their behalf.

As I recall, you are a constant advocate for the rule of law over the rule of police https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10554198

You produce some compelling blogs, Mr. Meurant. I’d like you to continue but do take care, because I fear you might really piss off the Establishment which you were often condemned for defending https://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/HL1809/S00055/red-squad-revisited-reflections-of-ross-meurant.htm
and as a result be K9 for cannabis.
