    • There is no way the UK polling is correct. Absolute lies that conservatives are so popular and that most people don’t want a 2nd referendum.

Same fake polls will happen here! But they might do the opposite and lull labour into a false sense of security which worked with Brexit when the polling said that remain would win.

Only a small proportion of the UK population voted in the referendum. Aka approx 18 million were not on the electoral roll, approx 13 million did not vote in the referendum, approx 16 million voted remain and approx 17 voted to leave.

How many of the 13 million would have voted if they were not told that remain had it in the bag? And how many of the 18 million not on the electoral roll but eligible to vote, did not enroll and vote because they were not aware it would effect them greatly.

Not even getting into the lies that were told during the campaign and the electoral spending frauds.

Press Release: Citizens Environmental Advocacy Centre

Most countries now include vehicle emission testing of all vehicles during mechanical fitness every year but still not in NZ.

    Why not?

This recent World health Organisation research site below shows graphically that our Government now must include vehicle exhaust in the fitness testing of NZ vehicles for very good reasons, especially for community health, safety and well-being.

The world’s top 20 most polluted cities, according to the World Health Organization’s (WHO) database, are in developing countries.
Almost all the cities in low- and middle-income countries with more than 1,00,000 residents fail to meet WHO air quality guidelines.
Long-term exposure to air pollution lowers brain function, which reflects in decreased verbal and mathematics scores, apart from causing heart disease and breathing problems, a new study from China has said.
“… a narrow focus on the negative effect on health may underestimate the total cost of air pollution. Our findings imply that the indirect effect of pollution on social welfare could be much larger than previously thought,” Xiaobo Zhang, one of the authors of the paper, said.
The study retrospectively analysed data of nearly 32,000 people from two waves (2010 and 2014) of the China Family Panel Study, a nationally representative longitudinal survey that looks at topics like economic activities, education outcome, family dynamics, relationships, and health.”

    • The report study emphasises the cognitive ability module of the test has standardised mathematics and word-recognition questions, and was sorted in ascending order of difficulty.
    • The score given was the highest rank of a question that a person was able to answer.
    • This dataset was then compared to the local pollution data, which shows that the brain has lost cognitive function and this is a now confirmed that air pollution is now a serious cause of brain damage.
    QUOTE;
“We speculate that the pollutant damage is most likely accumulating in the white matter of the brain which is mainly associated with the language functioning. The negative impact of three-year accumulative exposure to air pollution for men’s verbal test scores is 49% higher than that for women,” Zhang, who is also a senior research fellow with the Washington-based International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), said”.

We at CEAC say this research had estimated that reducing fine particulate matter concentrations to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standard (50 μg/m3) would increase verbal and math scores by 2.41 and 0.39 points, and this shows why we need to measure vehicle emissions now.
Though the research was conducted in China, we consider as a major trading partner now we in NZ should support the researchers suggestions that the implications would be true for all developing countries, including India and elsewhere where industrial and transport activities are increasing such as NZ.
The world’s top 20 most polluted cities, according to the World Health Organization’s (WHO) database, are in developing countries.

CEAC say this is very good “environmental stewardship” our Government now should embrace for our ‘public community health and wellbeing.’

      Why not?

Possibly because they can’t even test vehicles properly anymore!

  4. National Party selects 17-year-old William Wood as Palmerston North candidate for 2020 election
    https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/politics/117668485/national-selects-17yearold-william-wood-as-palmerston-north-candidate-for-2020-election

Would not surprise me if 17-year-old William Wood beats Iain Lees-Galloway or it’s an embarrassingly close one, because ILG has made a huge amount of errors on immigration. Not many voters in the real world, not woke world, want people in jail getting permanent residency in NZ or more freebie visas handed out like lollies to identity groups for political reasons.

Will also put the Greens nose out of joint because they only seem to want to advertise themselves as a millennial party to voters that hate boomers and home owners (and landlords that are hard to find these days), so lost the chance to crow about having the youngest youth in parliament. Problem when you base your party around identity not policy, is becomes easy to forget you have little to crow about 3 years later, when little has been done, apart from posturing and virtue signalling and making everyone hate each other based on race and age and wealth.

The only add I ever got on FB from the Greens was just the other day when Golriz was eulogising a refugee that gave some kebabs to the homeless. While a nice thought, if that is the only unsolicited message I got from the Greens in 3 years and about a refugee that did something nice, not the Greens! Meanwhile hating and or blaming, in the ok boomers has gone viral!

Remember when the Greens thought that MSM was on their side and did the metro campaign but that approach, did not resonate with Green voters in 2017!

People are between a rock and a hard place voting wise!

    • You’re a bit of a worry at time @ SaveNZ.
Maybe my judgement is clouded by recently having read How to be a Dictator, alongside watching Jonestown on one of those audio-visual trendy platforms – might have even been Sky,
But I’ve gone back through a lot of your past comments out of interest and they seem to be a little bit OCD.
Not to mention the link whoring as a means of supporting an argument.
The last one that piqued my interest was to do with some romantic notion of how things used to be as a Kiwi traveller off to the Mother Nation, and how our expectations weren’t that bad as compered with all these bloody queue jumper, arranged marriage people. And I appreciate how some bloody Indian may have managed to upset you in the past.
Sure as shit, history rhymes and often imitates.
In the case of Jonestown, it was just a hop, skip, and then a jump to understand how a few peace-niks from San Francisco could end up being a complete load of self-centred, exceptionalist fuckwits thinking they were God’s Gift to Humankind.
But then…..what would I know. I just have the blood of the Superior flowing through my veins – not unlike a Netanyahu, or a Modi, or a Trump, or a Bennett, or a Tamaki, or a Stalin, or an Adolf, or any number of other tricksters, wideboys (and their “lasses”).

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEcZlqYcQ10

      • Well OnceWasTim, I’m pretty accurate with my predictions, predicting COL would win last election because they dumped the capital gain tax and actually looked like they were taking immigration and bad trades deals more seriously etc when everyone else thought they would fail, also predicted Winston would win Northland and John Key would not make it back to parliament – people were laughing that could never happen but it did!

Also predicted that the US election between Trump and Democrats would be very close and Trump might make it. It is obvious that trade deals don’t work for normal folks just big operators and that the trickle down never happens with offshoring. People believe it when it is first offered but after years of going backwards they understand it does not work for most people.

Likewise identity politics aka vote for me, does not resonate for most people who believe people should get in for what they offer not what they look like.

Upward mobility for locals has stalled around the world and so telling people everything is wonderful aint working any more, if there is nobody to vote for that suggests that, people will protest vote. Aka Trump.

Those that make money from globalism and one of the biggest growth markets aka legal people trafficking and asset stripping around the world, are of course keen to keep saying that offshoring peoples jobs and trading visas for exports and high prices is great news, but making locals poorer and poorer around the world including the third world and the Pacific, bringing Meth and disease as part of governments asleep at the wheel approach, to keep the 1% multinationals happy is not going to work forever.

Nor is shutting down genuine debate on whether the current NZ approach for the last decade is working and sustainable long term. They have somehow ‘screwed up the census” wonder why????

  5. The COL government have not been terrible, but they have not improved NZ statistics mostly because they don’t want to face reality of what changed in the last 6 years to make there be so many problems and they did not keep their promise on immigration or TPPA which helped turn the tide, that and trusting Jacinda would keep the promises, well we all know how that turned out.

Clearly Kiwibuild failed because what Labour ideologically thought was the issue, aka shortage of homes for first home owners turned out not to be the main issue with Kiwibuild being a fizzle, and they have actually increased the 12,000+ on state house waiting list, record food bank activity, increasing people on welfare, with 11% increase on jobseekers, with hospitals, schools and roads full to the brim!

Judging by the paltry 2300 new state homes built, hopefully there is some brain in Labour and Greens to know, it is not that easy to wave a magic wand and suddenly produce affordable housing with dysfunctional for profit business and charities, neoliberal style when we are growing 1.5+% population every year and actually inexplicably increasing it by choice!

The Mt Eden train closure has bought home the issue for anybody who uses it, closed for 4 years to produce the famed public transport! And that is if they keep on schedule! People have to live in the meantime and get around!

My prediction is that the election is going to be very close. Jacinda dust, can’t dampen how voters getting fucked off waiting for the magical thinking of neoliberalism and globalism to happen and it hasn’t dawned on Labour and Greens yet that woke work with the far right wingers and push the majority away with their intolerance and impractical blame based solutions that most people see are not going to work and increase the problem!

  6. Andrew Little gagging to extend privilege to the world

The NZ Justice Minister was reported on RNZ as being in negotiation with officials in the Five Eyes countries to mutually agree on name suppression. Why is this guy selling our judicial system to overseas actors? Who gave these people the right to administer blanket censorship via their world police? And name suppression for who? The rich, celebrity, ruling elites with acceptable connections, backgrounds and ideologies?

  7. Good news here as National sinks as it stinks!!!!!

You Gov poll says Labour at 41% National sinks to 38% while NZ First and greens poll at around 7 to eight percent to form another 2020 Government. —– Yahhhhh

    November Stuff Poll; Nats Knackered

Stuff have released their latest YouGov political poll. It’s grim reading for the Tories and current leader Simon Bridges.
Labour are on 41%, 3 points ahead of National, who languish on 38%.

But that’s not the only bad news for the embattled Bridges; at 8% each, either the Greens or NZ First would be both able to form a two party Government with Labour.
That won’t happen, of course, because Labour are committed to continuing the current three party arrangement. It will, however, make cross party discipline easier to maintain in the next government (Shane Jones, I’m looking at you).
No preferred PM poll, but the YouGov alternative is ‘favourability’. Ardern wins hands down, and her deputy PM also outscores the bumbling Bridges.

The big questions for National remain. When to get rid of Simon Bridges and who to replace him with?
