Who would Jesus bomb? Did PM want to attack Iran because he’s an Evangelical Christian who thinks this might trigger the Rapture?

Christopher Luxon’s Iran war stance has already triggered a political crisis — but now a more uncomfortable question is emerging: how much do personal beliefs shape decisions about war and peace?
Ummmmmm.
Well.
This is kinda awkward isn’t it?
So, now thanks to Winston putting his personal ambition ahead of our international reputation, we all now know that Luxon, despite barely knowing anything about this insane war that Israel and Trump had embarked upon, was so eager to get involved and support it that Winston and other senior National MPs had to drag him back like a horny puppy on a leash, we kinda have to ask some awkward questions eh?
Did Luxon’s Iran war stance reflect poor judgement — or something deeper?
Like when the PM refused to recognise Palestine.
Like, when the PM spent most of a press conference arguing he would support Trump carpet bombing Tehran.
Like when the PM refused point blank to criticise a Tomahawk missile strike on an Iranian school killing 175.
Sooooooooo
Alongside those moments that generate a multitude of questions now we now he wanted to rope us into an insane US Military misadventure, we have to ask that other awkward question don’t we?
Did the Prime Minister want to attack Iran because he’s an Evangelical Christian who thinks this might trigger the Rapture?
Who would Jesus bomb?
See, I’m no theologian, but my basic skim of the whole Jesus Christ vibe is that he wouldn’t be much of a killer you know?
I just don’t see the Prince of Peace signing death warrants and plotting missile strikes.
Jesus kinda comes across as a bit of a pacifist to be frank and would find the use of state violence to be abhorrent on most fronts I should imagine.
Again, I’m no student or follower of Christ, but I’m fairly sure he’d be pretty critical of any democratic leader who got a war hard on and wanted to have us betray every lesson from ANZAC Day and skip gleefully into the valley of death.
Now.
In his defence, the Prime Minister has tried to explain this whole thing away by claiming that he was merely ‘testing’ the NZ position with his Foreign Minister, which is such an obvious ‘dog-ate-my-homework’ level lie that your more amused than offended.
If it was merely a ‘test’ why the Christ did it go through official channels and why was the Foreign Minister and Senior National Ministers so worried and clear in their denunciation unless they feared an actual policy change?
To date, the Prime Minister has not been able to provide any evidence whatsoever that backs up his claim that he was merely testing a foreign policy position…
PM Christopher Luxon declines to offer evidence to back claim he was mischaracterised in emails
Prime Minister Christopher Luxon has declined to offer any evidence to back his side of a conflict with his Foreign Minister’s office, saying he has “nothing more to add”.
In an interview with RNZ today, Luxon stood firm: “I’ve just told you my side of the story. It’s in the statement.”
Luxon’s statement – issued on Thursday – claimed a bombshell document release from Winston Peters’ office had “mischaracterised” Luxon’s position on the war in Iran.
The published emails – from early March – showed Peters’ team pushing back against the Prime Minister’s “preference for more explicit public support” of the US-led airstrikes.
RNZ
…the most concerning part of this was the immediacy of him wanting to support this and when asked to provide the evidence that he hadn’t become a horndog for war, declined to provide it.
When personal belief collides with foreign policy decisions
So this was an irrational, knee-jerk decision to join in, which awkwardly brings us back to questions of faith because if this was an irrational knee-jerk, was it the PMs much self-articulated evangelical religious beliefs at play here?
Are he and Pete Hegseth in the same WhatsApp prayer group message?
Who Jesus would bomb Chris?

What would Jesus say?
The Parable of the Good Samaritan.
Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37) is a famous story told by Jesus to define a “neighbor” as anyone in need, regardless of background. It highlights a Samaritan helping a severely injured Jewish man whom others had ignored, demonstrating that true compassion involves active, sacrificial care and mercy.
Context: A legal expert asked Jesus what is necessary to “inherit eternal life.” Jesus emphasized loving God and “loving your neighbor as yourself”.
The Attack: A man traveling from Jerusalem to Jericho is robbed, stripped, beaten, and left for dead.
The Bystanders: A Jewish priest and a Levite, both religious leaders, see the man but pass by on the other side of the road.
The Samaritan: A Samaritan (a Samaritan ie resident of the West Bank) —despised by Jews at the time (2000 years ago) —sees the man and has compassion. He binds his wounds with oil and wine, puts him on his own animal, and takes him to an inn.
The Care: The Samaritan pays the innkeeper two silver coins (denarii) to look after the man, promising to pay for any additional expenses upon his return.
As Jesus was Palestinian and were to return to Bethleham in the West Bank today The Israelis would arrest him and acuse him of being a Terriost .And use thier new laws supress Palestinians to sentence him to dealth .Just look at how Israel treats Palestian Christians in both the West Bank and Gaza . Let alone bombing church’s and killing priest in Lebanon And bombing one of the oldest synagogues in the world in Iran
Na, the Orange Messiah is the prince of peace. He’s got the trophy to prove it.
I thought it was a trophy for playing Soccer?
Been having trouble accessing the site. So on a quick squiz I thought it was Trump that was being criticised here. No way is he an evangelical Christian. Although he does think he’s Jesus apparently. And as someone said on HIGNIFY fairly recently, can we move the analogy along and crucify him? One of those jokes we will hope we’d invented.
Does the PM believe in the rapture? Not every Christian does. On the other hand I can’t believe an educated man like him is an evangelical Christian so …

“Look, what I’m saying to you is that I’m operationalizing my lack of spine and compartmentalising my lack of a moral or ethical compass.
Our new KPI’s include a range of dashboard measures that reveal the fact I’m an empty suit addicted to business”self help” jargon and buzzwords but incapable of understanding it reveals me to be an intellectual lightweight.
I can’t be any clearer than that guys because I’m fundamentally unsuited to the job and part of the piss poor batch of talentless National MP’s selected by Peter Goodfellow

I love all those comments. Final two in particular.
Bog standard evangelical. He should go and live in a Maga town, with his mates. This coalition is just a wall to wall wanker fest.
