White House discussing ‘options’ to acquire Greenland, says military use isn’t off the table
The White House said Tuesday that President Donald Trump is “discussing a range of options” to acquire Greenland, making clear that using the US military is not off the table.
“President Trump has made it well known that acquiring Greenland is a national security priority of the United States, and it’s vital to deter our adversaries in the Arctic region,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a Tuesday statement to CNN.
“The President and his team are discussing a range of options to pursue this important foreign policy goal, and of course, utilising the U.S. Military is always an option at the Commander in Chief’s disposal.”
The statement comes as Secretary of State Marco Rubio told lawmakers this week that the Trump administration is considering buying Greenland as he downplayed concerns about US military intervention in the short term, according to two sources familiar with the discussion.

‘The world is governed by power’: Trump aide’s stunning claim on seizing Greenland
A senior aide to Donald Trump has claimed that US could take Greenland by force, arguing global politics is ruled by power, not international law.
Speaking to CNN host Jake Tapper on Monday, Stephen Miller, Trump’s deputy chief of staff, said Greenland should be part of the United States and dismissed the idea that Washington would face resistance if it moved to seize the semiautonomous Danish territory.
“We live in a world, in the real world, Jake, that is governed by strength, that is governed by force, that is governed by power,” he said. “These are the iron laws of the world since the beginning of time.”
He added: “Nobody is going to fight the United States militarily over the future of Greenland.”

Trump signs proclamation withdrawing from international organizations, White House says
Donald Trump has also signed a proclamation withdrawing the United States from 35 non-United Nations organizations and 31 UN entities that “operate contrary to US national interests”, the White House said in a statement.
It did not list the organisations, but said they promote “radical climate policies, global governance, and ideological programs that conflict with US sovereignty and economic strength”.
It said the move was the result of a review of all international intergovernmental organisations, conventions and treaties that the US is a member of or party to, per Reuters.
“These withdrawals will end American taxpayer funding and involvement in entities that advance globalist agendas over US priorities, or that address important issues inefficiently or ineffectively such that US taxpayer dollars are best allocated in other ways to support the relevant missions,” the White House said.
Since beginning his second term a year ago, Trump has sought to slash US funding for the UN, ended US engagement with the UN Human Rights Council, extended a halt to funding for the Palestinian relief agency UNRWA and quit the UN cultural agency UNESCO. He has also announced plans to quit the World Health Organization and the Paris climate agreement.
…This means Trump is more focused on forcing Canada to join America, taking Greenland and the Panama Canal.
That’s being a Regional Super Power!
He is inviting Putin to have his own Regional Super Power status by gifting him 20% of the Ukraine and making Europe pay more for his largesse to protect them, because ultimately Trump wants to make Putin an ally.
This is the ‘DonRoe Doctrine’.

The point of Greenland is to use it as a US base to attack Russia. It sits nicely, therefore somewhat safely, behind US allies. It also better helps to disrupt Russian shipping flows. The name of the game for the USA is to remain the world’s sole superpower, this means continuing to contain, if not destroy, all challengers to it spearheaded by China, Russia, the Middle East, South America, Africa and of course, Europe.
If I was a Greenlanders, I’d be asking what had Denmark actually done for Greenland and would the US be a better distant overlord.
