  1. Well done you Minister of hyperbolic (space). Of all the dishes you could have chosen for your bigoted wee sledge, you went with the gateway dish for timid western palates. Legend

  2. Here’s the deal. A tradeoff between market access and access to immigration. The export lobby is strong so no surprises who gets the nod.

I live in Auckland – and have done so for some time on and off and during the so-called Asian invasion following the scrapping of the ‘white only’ policies and rekaxation of CCP policy. Auckland has changed big time since the new millennium. But change was occurring in the 90s.

Aucklanders felt threatened. Not only here. Too many Asians. English too tough for some. Social cohesion under threat. Indians? Policy makers thought because they learned English at school – a legacy of British imperialism in India – we’d be better off with. Now the trade deal has accelerated Indian immigration.

But here’s the rub. A day in the life of an retired Aucklander. An early morning blood test (clinitian from the Phillipines) ordered by a Chinese GP. A winter flu jab from the pharmacist, Chinese. Back home and a trip to the library to pick up some books. Librarian Korean. Stop off at the supermarket. From everywhere but supervisor from Nepal. Didn’t have what I wanted so a stop at the Indian speciality shop. No guessing who the shop assistant was. Needed some gas – ouch! Indian again. Later in the evening caught a bus into the city to see a movie. Driver Chinese. Looked out the window at some road workers. I could go on. Crickey, I’m Welsh/ English and I seem to be a minority.

And jobs across the board. GPs, health clinicians, pharmacists, librarians, bus drivers, service attendants, enginners, plant operators, labourers.

Shane Jones is a smart guy. A Rhodes Scholar no less. Travelled extensively. Works in the capital. Perhaps he’s lost some perspective after the summer in the Hokianga. But we all know. A polititian by trade. He’ll attract votes.

  3. Looking for Indian, Bangladeshi, Pakistani and Sri Lankan individuals seeking a job following No Shame Jones around and yelling:

“We’re sick of the avalanche of WANKERS masquerading as politicians”

“I pay for my own butter chicken, Shane can’t even pay for his own porn!”

“Stop rhetorically wanking Shane, give us a demo of how you spent our money on rubbing one out”

  4. And what was Hipkins response. He mentions appalling rascist graffitti. Ok but, he didnt go near the issue.

The Indian trade deal is India using diaspora to mine and extract billions of dollars of cash remittances out of AoNZ.

Why didnt he say he is going to protect jobs for kiwis?

Why didnt he say 40% of immigrants coming from India is unbalanced and say that he would limit immigrants from one country to say 5% or 10% per year?

  5. Butt out, Business NZ, and put your brains into gear! The problem with the India FTA agreement is the complete lack of Transparency – we are still to see ALL the terms. So what is the devious, deceitful Luxon hiding from us? This agreement can go nowhere until all is revealed. If it isn’t passed it can be renegotiate after the election, but we will still demand openness and honesty.

      1. Bob…

You’ve been warned about Winnie pulling your pants down in public so everyone can see the skid marks on your undies.

“For his part, Winston Peters is doubling down on his opposition to the deal. He’s also criticised the business sector for signing the open letter to politicians. “How on earth can there be any sort of proper analysis of the FTA if they haven’t even read the agreement? This is tantamount to those businesses signing a contract blindfolded. This is an appalling image for the professionalism of New Zealand business leadership.”

So you’ve been proven to be ignorant and out of your depth AGAIN!

We’ll wait for you to take accountability and apologise, like an adult.

Oh wait! You never do that because you’re a foolish child.
