Sera Cruickshank and the crucifixion of Jamie Foster

Society Insider: Sera Cruickshank welcomes baby with convicted rapist Jamie Foster
Foster was convicted in 2020 of indecently assaulting and sexually violating a police colleague at a motel in Northland in 2019.
He served two years of a six-year sentence and was released on electronically monitored parole in March 2022.
The couple are continuing the lengthy process of submitting applications to the Criminal Cases Review Commission, in an attempt to overturn Foster’s conviction.
High-profile investigator Tim McKinnel, of leading investigation firm Zavést, began preparing applications in October last year.
“A major focus for us is continuing the process of overturning his conviction and pursuing the next steps in that journey this year,” Cruickshank tells Society Insider.
NZME
TDB has been following the Jamie Foster case shortly after it went to Court because I despise a Lynch mob and miscarriage of justice no matter who it’s directed at.
Jamie Foster was a cop convicted of raping a fellow police officer but there were elements of this entire case that were so preposterous I have always maintained that if they were known by the public, it would demand a retrial or the case thrown out.
Tim McKinnel is NZs leading investigator on miscarriages of justice, for him to be involved shows there is real issues with this conviction.

Indeed, disturbing stuff. Whatever one thinks about police, it seems like it’s bad that random accusations are being made against police officers with otherwise flawless records by persons who are then involved in taking the cases all the way through making the decision to prosecute. If it can happen to Mr. Foster, it damn well could happen to us.
