  2. This woman seems to have the feeling of insouciance that I think Grace Mullane had. Don’t people know that it’s a jungle out there – you can lose your way at least. These words from All Around My Hat from past centuries!

    1. Greywarbler. Tragically, young Grace Millane is dead, murdered by a New Zealand male. Her father is dead. Her mother and family are bereft. Comparisons may not be appropriate. To err is human. RIP Grace.

      1. To err is human. Also to ignore advice and note lessons from history. Sob, sob. There are so many caring people around who don’t seem to extend their love to others who are hurting or killed. RIP to them and their relatives also please not just pretty foreign visitors. Our women and children, and men are hurting without doing more than just being alive in an uncaring country with fickle kindness. Don’t channel concern to your favoured victim.

        1. Greywarbler. I channel to no “ favoured victims “. Survivors do not think in such terms.

          Grace met a date on tinder, which you may know more about than I do. Unlike Martyn’s Mary, Ms Millane was not documented dressed provocatively or scantily. Grace was apparently drunk, whether purposefully or not, is unknown.

          After choking her to death, her murder took intimate photographs of her, ie. photographs of her genital area, and nor was that the final indignity. He watched porn, met another tinder date, folded her up into a suitcase, bought a spade, dug a hole, and buried her in a forest.

          What advice from history Ms Millane didn’t heed, I don’t know. She was young; like most trusting people, she most likely assumed that other people were also trustworthy in the way that liars assume everybody else lies just the way that they do.

          Grace could have been anybody’s daughter out for a night in the town, but most daughters don’t send photos of themselves half-dressed to somebody they want simply as a Facebook friend.

          Judge me if you wish, that’s your prerogative, but blaming Ms Millane in any way for what happened to her, is providing an excuse for her brutal murderer, and I reject your doing that.

  3. Very subtle actually Martyn possibly too subtle for Mary. Perhaps she will reply with her rates and rules of thumb so you know how to proceed or recommend her as a friend to others. We could eventually know all about Mary, which I hope is her pseudo. In this machiavellian world it isn’t wise to expose every chromosone of your being to the gaze of those teetering near disintegration.
