National’s compulsory KiwiSaver is a trojan horse towards removing the pension altogether you sleepy hobbits

National embrace of compulsory KiwiSaver could make a new NZ capitalism
The Wellington Beltway commentators be braying that National’s compulsory super plan amounts to National stepping to the centre, which is total bullshit.
Let me be as clear as I can be, National’s compulsory KiwiSaver is a trojan horse towards removing the pension altogether you sleepy hobbits!
Look at the screams to means test Super right now, do you honestly believe that after 2 electoral cycles of compulsory super that National wouldn’t immediately be arguing we should remove Super altogether now we have compulsory?
Firstly – National slashed our collective government subsidy and is now pretending to save Super with compulsory.
Secondly – many workers just holding on by their fingernails can not afford more taken from their pay checks.
Thirdly – As soon as compulsory is ion place, National will use it as a trojan horse to removed super altogether.
You are so easily set upon sleepy hobbits.
We have painfully low wages, workers can’t afford this. The State should be stepping in to supplement KiwiSaver contributions, not force you to pay more!
Why would you trust National when they have proven to be a bad faith Government?
Compulsory super is a trick and it is telling that National are doing this to appear ‘centrist’ as if you are dumb enough to forget the last 3 years of race war baiting, worker rights destruction, cruelty to beneficiaries and the disabled and their war on the environment all the while strangling the common good for their donors interests.
How stupid are you Kiwi?

KiwiSaver is a cut down version of the 1997 scheme voted down by a referendum.
Yes, Luxon’s new distraction from his already failed LNG fiasco is about the state no longer being responsible for the old age pension! Of course he and many of his cohorts won’t ever have to depend upon this, so their ‘I’m OK Jack’ mindset is happy with that. What are other countries in the world doing? Can we not pick the bones out of their policies and bring in something that better suits NZ? Firsly though, all ‘perks’ for ‘once were’ politicians need to go when they leave parliament – big savings here! It was their job and many didn’t even do it well. Also big corporate pay-outs – what a scam they are? I cringe when I read the huge payouts some CEO’s get when they leave a job! A basic pension, backed up by KiwiSaver, for those who get that extra opportunity, would produce a fairer system. But when you earn less than needed, because the pay rates are so damned miserable, how can you save for your retirement? What is the best we can do for our country and our folk? Surely, it has to be better than what we have now and what Luxon is envisaging?
Maybe we should just cut super for those who earn over 150k per year .After all they all vote for COC so they must be sorted .They can easily afford the 18k per year for kiwi saver that the employer never pays into .That way the cost of super would be slashed and governments would go hard to get everyone earning over 150k so they dont have anyone on super .
Bet they’d never think of these timely ideas from you and Patrice.
AND would have save Winston the embarrassment he must have felt when he realized he’d been getting too much pension. For 7 years!!!!
