National breaks promise to deliver 500 more police – Labour

Today is the deadline for National to deliver 500 extra Police officers β a core coalition promise that has collapsed under Christopher Luxonβs weak leadership.
βNew Zealanders have been let down. National promised 500 extra Police by 27 November 2025, but theyβve failed miserably,β Labour Police spokesperson Ginny Andersen said.
βFirst National swore the 500 officers would be delivered by November 2025. Then it was June 2026. Then August, and now itβs September 2026. At this rate itβs hard to see them delivering by the election.
βMark Mitchell knew as early as January 2024, that the target was out of reach. Instead of fronting up, National kept shifting the goalposts.
βIt completely undermines Mark Mitchellβs credibility. He sets deadlines, then misses them. Itβs got so bad heβs now refusing to set a new one.
βNationalβs failure heaps pressure on an already stretched frontline. With meth use increasing and gangs making record profits, Police need real backing β not empty promises.
βNational talks tough on crime, but itβs hollow when they canβt deliver their core law and order pledge,β Ginny Andersen said.

Were we not told by Michell that he would resign if he didn’t reach his target of 500 extra Police by 27/11/25 or was this just more BS and lies? What a tosser and now he’s lying about that! There is no credibility with this disgraceful lot, they are so out of control, so pompous, big-headed and simply the sort of people we should never ever ever allow into parliament. Time for some drastic action β FGS get rid of the lot of them, there is barely one person in their ranks who is of sound mind, intelligent, truthful and with integrity. What does that leave β a bunch of cheating AH’s so up themselves they can barely walk. Again, what in the hell did we do to deserve this??? Go you halfwits/blockheads/dipsticks β just do us a favour and disappear off the face of the earth!
