How do NZ climate deniers explain the heatwave in Europe (you goin’ git some Sleepy Hobbit, you goin’ git some)

Europe’s record-breaking heatwave has claimed hundreds of lives, health authorities say
Europe’s record-breaking heatwave has claimed hundreds of lives, according to health authorities, as the continent battles through another day of scorching temperatures.
At least 101 million Europeans were forecast to swelter in temperatures of over 35 degrees on Thursday (all times local).
In Spain, where new temperature records have been set for June, the MoMo mortality-rate monitoring system said that 212 deaths between Sunday and Wednesday could be linked to the heat.
The UK recorded its hottest-ever June day on Thursday, with temperatures reaching 36.4 degrees Celsius in south-western Somerset, breaking the previous day’s record and prompting a warning from the London Ambulance Service.
Paramedics responded to the highest-ever number of “life-threatening emergencies” on Wednesday, which, its chief executive, Jason Killens, said was “driven by the extreme heat”.
Ambulance crews responded to a record 642 Category 1 calls that day, which include the most serious, life-threatening injuries and illnesses, such as cardiac arrests and patients who are not breathing.

The change of extremes to extremes are weather and climate patterns we haven’t seen since the last ice age…

…we forget that this period of stable climate has blessed our civilisation with agricultural advances that created the civil stabilisation for human beings to begin building cities.
The vast amount of pollution human beings have caused since the Industrial Age is now here to bite us in the arse.
Within our biosphere there are built in tipping points that once breached unleash extreme catastrophic weather.
Normally these tipping points take tens of thousands of years to build up.
We have done it in 3 centuries.
The ramifications of that are now upon us.
This is the age of consequences and those climate deniers who have pimped for the interests of the Big Polluters are now targets.
There is an existential crisis for the Political Right.
As the extreme weather unleashes upon us, no one will believe the ‘Climate change is a socialist hoax’ argument any longer.
As the extreme weather unleashes upon us, no one will forgive refusing to make the Big Polluters pay.
As the extreme weather unleashes upon us, no one will accept allowing those big polluters of the hook.
Climate change stopped being a science issue a long time ago time ago, this is a cultural issue.
This is people hating that the Greens, Greenpeace and Environmentalists were right.
This is a culture issue, not a science one.
But as the impact of the catastrophic weather coming our way builds, the level of environmental activism will become a civil war and the infrastructure of the Big Polluters will become legitimate targets.
National, ACT and NZF who have parroted Big Polluters talking points will have their tongues ripped from their mouths by the mob that is building.
The enormity of what we face will splinter the political spectrum as wave after wave after wave of climate refugees fleeing the worst turn up on our shores.
Those who have pimped for the Big Polluters will feel a wrath never experienced.
The reality is you goin’ git some Sleepy Hobbit, you goin’ git some.
The reckoning is coming.

A 2 week study of the climate isn’t a study, it’s barely a weather report. Think it’s more a study of the insufferable not being able to enjoy…summer?
Wanganui is consistently one of the warmest places in NZ – now days – according to the Metservice. The reason for this – I am guessing – is the repositioning of wherever they take Wanganui ‘s temps from. Temps can vary greatly, even in any given household or location, depending on where the gauge is positioned.
Positioning is a possible reason for temperature changes.
Yes, it’s like Europe shifted position thousands of Km closer to the equator to get the temperatures they currently have. It’s easy to notice temperature difference between the sunny and shady side of a house or in and out of the wind etc however our weather records are taken to provide certainty regarding their reliability so your excuses have no credibility.
Its a possibility, I do not have concrete enough evidence to bother with something even remotely approaching an excuse. Its a possibility because of how Wanganui has become one of the warmest spots in NZ, in the last few years, when it never was the case two-three years ago, plus, based upon the twenty odd years I’ve been religiously following NZ Metservice (pays to keep an eye on the weather when you walk/cycle as much as I do). What has changed I have wondered. Well, I have heard, only heard mind you, that weather record taking positions, have, and do change. Weather record keeping does not always take this change into account. Thus, this is a possibility that is worthy of consideration.
