I think we fail to acknowledge the stresses and depression that grip many men in their 40s because we believe it’s solely a youth issue. Men in their 40s need as much support and help as they can access, unfortunately the run down mental health system in this country is effectively broken.
The Justice Conference has wrapped up and it is a relief to see that the madness of our prison industrial complex is finally being challenged by some genuine political courage.
This is an area of social policy that I have been passionate about for a very long time. I do believe you judge a society on how they treat their least respected and the way we treat prisoners should be a national scandal.

The lack of traction over the time Jacinda has been away has been overcome within weeks of her being back. She is a phenomenon and if National are serious about beating her, they best not underestimate her ability to pacify their voting block while appealing to her own.
Corrections Dept negligence and the double bunking policy caused this by giving rapist & Black Power member William Katipa his opportunities . No Corrections officer has been held accountable & 50 potential further victims are not being individually notified .
