The Trucking Mafia has total power over the NZ political establishment, similar to what the Farmers get, so you can only imagine their surprise that they haven’t gotten from National what they are paying for, and what they are paying for is their interests override all roading decisions.
They were trying to get even heavier trucks on our shitty roads but the damage those trucks cause would be so much money, National had to turn it down…

Speech notes provided to media suggested Bishop intended to lay down a harder line.
“I want to be very clear about the Government’s position: we are not in the business of subsidising the freight sector,” the notes said.
However, Bishop softened the message in the room.
“I want to make clear, the government’s position is: we want to make sure we get the policy right,” he said.

A political party utterly beholden to their Donors having to smack their greedy donors on the nose and hope they don’t get bitten.

Bishop has whispered sweet nothings to his donors.
When they get their second term the truckers will get their paid for free run as the real owners of our roads and highways to extort as much as they can and leave the bill for the damage , potholes that wreck and damage our tires and wheel alignment to the long suffering road user and then wait for the repairs that can take months or years to repair.
Its another rort that will not be challenged should their next political representatives the NZLP come back into government.
The ” mafia ” are never ever restrained or put in their place.

National will back flip if they are reelected for sure .They are the king of back flipping ,so much so they would clean up all the gold medals in gymnastics at the Olympics.They will sell of the national parks and have every truck at 55 or more tons .
National never has been and never will be centrists! They are blatantly RW and there for themselves, their bribers/doners i.e. the wealthy who have no conscience, low moral fortitude and certainly, no empathy. If you can’t see it, think about how this party has performed since being elected and you will see the ‘same old, ugly, greedy’ behaviour which isn’t about to change. So if you wish to suck it up for a further 3-4 years keep voting them back in – they will most certainly oblige – sounds so much fun! However, if you love NZ as much as so many of us do, you will find it totally unconscionable to allow them back in, in any shape or form. Stop considering only yourself, your assets etc. and start to see the bigger, much more important picture – a thriving country where everyone gets a fair deal and a ‘chance’ to succeed. Yes even in these difficult times. It’s in your hands. National lied and deceived – they will do it again; they can’t help it; it’s who they are! Who in the hell do they have for PM – their shelves are completely bare. There is no talent whatsoever. What you see now is what you will continue to get!
