  1. here here Mr Roberston people need jobs and they need somewhere decent to live. I think labours big platform policies should be to invest in education and not just tertiary education. They also need to reinstate HNZ housing and continue to improve the quality of affordable rental stock by ensuring all houses are up to decent standard. Housing, employment/jobs and education are important social determinants of health. We already have a plethora of research and data to prove this.

  2. Maybe they should look at not forcing mothers of very young children and people over 60 into work. Both these groups would be better off and society would be better off if they were allowed to care for children in the home and / or volunteer to support the community sector.

    Paid work is not and never has been the the only way to contribute to society. In the past when we had the mythical full employment it was because the above two groups ( among others) were not competing on the labour market.
