Iran aims to cripple US navy supply chain with wave of strikes in Middle East
Iran has targeted US naval supply lines as part of a wave of strikes across the Gulf, as Tehran attempts to assert control of the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claims to have destroyed several key US facilities, including a refuelling station at the port of Duqm in Oman.
Tehran claimed the facility was used to refuel the US aircraft carrier strike groups that have been central to Washington’s bombing campaign against Iran.
The Iranian military also claimed to have hit US military bases in Qatar and Jordan.
The strikes are the most extensive attacks on Arab states in the region since the signing of an interim peace agreement last month, and have led to a furious response from regional capitals.

Mungo no understand.
Last week, the climate denying ASB Economists told us that the war was over and NZ did ok and that the green shoots of recovery were finally here, here’s the breathless promise of a better tomorrow…
Is the NZ economy looking up at last?
ASB economists say the worst may be mostly over for the New Zealand economy.
They have released their updated economic forecasts for the quarter, and say easing oil prices are helping to improve the outlook and reduce the risk that the country is in for another prolonged inflation shock.
They said the outlook had improved “markedly” in recent months and had changed significantly from their March forecast.
“The New Zealand economy has shown greater resilience than many expected in the face of global uncertainty and higher fuel prices,” chief economist Nick Tuffley said.

…r-i-g-h-t, and yet no one seems to have told Trump or Iran?
What I find extraordinary about the ASB predictions is that they refuse point blank to consider what the Super El Niño will do to the NZ economy.
The ASB report doesn’t mention the fact the most powerful El Niño in 150 years will peak over NZ this Summer with all the economic damage drought, fire and flood produce.
The last 3 El Niño events have cost us $12billion dollars, apparently the worst one in 150 years won’t cost us anything???
Look.
Here’s why I think ASB are utterly delusional in their claims of no economic damage from a looming El Niño and their false assumption that the war is over.
Capitalism love to fuck.
Sweety Jesus does it love to fuck.
But it’s a very nervous fucker and it needs a huge circle of Economists and what passes as Business Journalists forever cheerleading from the sidelines.
One negative word, and Capitalism loses its boner and the orgy of neoliberalism abruptly shuts down.
The NZ Economy is built upon stealing Māori land and never handing it back, a low wage economy, exploitation of migrant workers and selling houses to each other, so the Business Journalists and Economists have to keep cheering our Capitalism on or the game suddenly implodes.
