  1. ” Right now the Party vote means little to TPM because they will gain more electorates than Party vote, it’s effectively wasted, but if that Māori Party vote was instead recycled to the Greens, it would not only generate an MMP overhang that makes it impossible for the right to get to 51%, it would also pump the Greens up by 2-3% ”

” So you could get TPM with 4 electorate seats and the Greens with 15%+ Party vote which would be enough to beat the Right ”

Bomber this is where you are at your best as a tactician. I floated the idea in a blog regarding the Greens and TMP should form an electoral alliance as both parties share many of the same policies and intention.

The lost TMP party vote could make a huge difference in the configuration of the next parliament when it comes to the share of the vote in a close or hung result.

Would Tamihere entertain the idea. Its so hard gauging what he is thinking when you put these types of strategies to him.

Leaving TOP aside because they ” will prop up the next Nasty Natz largest party and are right wing in drag ”
when the Alliance does make it to being in contention then a memorandum of understanding for those three parties to provide a left wing voting block would mean that Hipkins and the other business as usual Labour MP’s would have to talk and not bully them out of the room when it comes to negotiation’s after the general election.

Hipkins and the managerial team is used to having its own way with their usual born to rule arrogance.

The only way real left wing progressive reform will happen is with a united determined voting block that will not just back down with a couple of minister outside cabinet roles thrown around.

  2. Hipkins, this election is not the time to be overly ‘moral’. We all know you have high political standards, so unliike the RW CoC-up, but you still have to fight fire with fire! Any alliance or strategic strategy that gets rid of this current CoC scourge needs to be carefully considered. NZ cannot survive another 3 years under this current rabble – they have already destroyed many of the standards and values we have lived by for generations! Life should never be about who has money and who hasn’t! But in NZ that’s how it has plunged since Luxon’s lot took over, can’t say ‘governed’! Greens are a valuable, intelligent ally and TPM still have a good chance of getting it together. That’s a strong basis. Surely, intelligent people can see the difference between the RW ‘ME’ mentality and the LW ‘US’! So RW enablers, for the first time, take a long hard look at the road NZ is on – it’s not a pretty sight!

  3. When you start imagining that politicians can work together for the common good you are leaving reality and entering the world of fantasy. While it would be unfair to claim that all politicians are devoid of merit the idea that different parties can put self aside and cooperate for their mutual benefit while it has worked in Epsom seems unlikely with the situation you describe. I guess that it depends on how TMP receive the concept although their internal issues need to be resolved before anything useful can happen.
