57% of this Right Wing Governments policies have been rammed through under urgency – don’t dare lecture the Left about democracy
Listening to the Right gleefully burn MΔori representation on local councils as part of their election campaign to bash MΔori political aspiration is ugly enough, but listening to it come from a Government that has rammed more policy through under urgency than any other Government is an insult!
Firstly – allowing MΔori representation on local councils as the indigenous people and Treaty co-signers is what our democracy should look like.
I’m not being lectured to by ‘one-person-one-vote’ fruit loops when in NZ it’s 1 person two votes, so don’t even at me over MΔori representatives who don’t actually have voting rights on the final decision.
Giving them voting rights on sub committees considers their perspective, but it’s not binding on the Full Council!
Pretending that unelected Maaaaaaaareeees vote on the final decision is simply untrue.
It’s giving them a say on the issues that concern them! You get better decisions at the local level when the local people are included in the decision making process!!!
THAT IS THE VERY POINT OF DEMOCRACY!
What the Right want is majoritarianism which has the morality of two wolves and a lamb voting on who to eat for lunch.
A Democracy is more than one-person-one-vote, it takes into account the power imbalances, and for an Indigenous people who never ceded sovereignty, the Treaty is our hybrid strength.
But what I find most intellectually dishonest is the Right lecturing us about Democracy when they have rammed through 57% of their legislation Β through under urgency bypassing the normal processes all law is exposed to!
THEY HAVE RAMMED THROUGH HALF THEIR AGENDA UNDER URGENCY WITHOUT DEMOCRATIC SCRUTINY!

A couple of minor gripes:
“never needed sovereignty”: This phrasing is likely intended to be “never ceded sovereignty.” The word “needed” creates a logic error in the context of the sentence regarding the Treaty.
In the phrase “so donβt even at me,” the author almost certainly intended to write “so donβt even come at me.”
Bob the first also known as John you are very boring. The treaty is well above your capacity to understand, ever.
It’s clear the Left are the ones showing dignity, honesty and a huge will to return NZ to a happy, fair and livable country for ALL, where money is not the God! This incorrigible CoC has rammed through 57% of their policies under urgency! What does that tell us? They would never have got through the process because they were so scurrilous and loose! NZ is now a ‘dictatorship’ run by bribes, massive political interferrence, lies and GREED! Noddy and Big Ears had more mana than the deceitful, egotistical, racist, fraud Luxon! If he had one skerrick of decency he would have fallen on his sword long before now and slipped quietly out of NZ! Add to that the fact that he continues to claim he is a Christian is nothing but blasphemy. He comes from the same suspect mold as Trump, Netanyahu & Hitler and is an embarrassment to NZ. FGS NZ we must rid ourselves of this evil, vile CoC scourge. And Mitchell dares to complain about Labour’s new ‘Police’ recruit! It would be laughable if it wasn’t so pathetic!
