The Toxic Political Legacy of Judith Collins
Judith Collins leaves Parliament as one of the most polarising figures in modern New Zealand politics — admired by supporters for her ruthlessness and feared by critics who saw her political style as corrosive, vindictive and fundamentally toxic to democratic culture.
‘Proud as punch’: After 24 years in Parliament, Judith Collins bids farewell
Judith Collins has spoken in Parliament for the last time, telling colleagues she is “proud as punch” of the work she has achieved.
The MP of 24 years announced her plans to retire from politics in January. The former lawyer will take up a new role as president of the Law Commission.
Speaking to the House on Tuesday evening, Collins said the news of her resignation prompted such an outpouring of love that “I thought I had died”.
She’s dead but not buried!
Appointing her to the Law Commission is a shameful act of political cronyism that dangerously undermines our democracy. When someone as toxic as Judith is handed the plum role of being the new President to an organisation as august and important as the Law Commission, we are all worse off for the appointment.
Making her the Law Commission President is an affront to intellectual decency, but truth be told, what more perfect vandalism of our values is there than giving a Monster the keys to the independent judiciary?
Judith Collins weaponised fear as political strategy
Because let’s be clear.
Judith Collins was a political monster.
Watching the breathtaking audacity of Collins manufacturing a #MeToo harpoon to character assassinate Simon Bridges had everyone gasping at the sheer balls of it.
But it was a political reflex of vengeance that could no longer be ignored by the wider Caucus when they finally sacked her as leader. In the end it was a coup against a politician who was in the bunker ordering the destruction of the capital.
What Judith did by smearing Bridges was as needlessly self mutilating as a vegan in a butcher shop and it put into play the awfulness of Luxon as the new leader.
In the end, Judith was Judith. A politician gifted in the art of terror and manipulation whose opening gambit was always a direct kick to the nuts as a way of saying hello.
Her ruthlessness on display like an open secret that everyone tolerated out of fear and excitement.
Who was she casually decapitating today?
I suspect beneath the faded and worn down scales of her thick armour is a person as saddened by her lack of progress as we were all appalled by it.
The race baiting, the casual malice, the spite policy, the constant head-banging, the appeal to our angriest natures.
‘Crusher’.
That was her political legacy. The once mighty defender of the kiwi battler crushed by an ego that was always a reflex punch.
If Judith Collins had fought for New Zealand half as much as she fought for herself, this country would be a better place by her hand.
She didn’t and it isn’t.
You always got the cold feeling with Judith that her threshold for Martial Law was always very, very, very, very low.
Quite low.
We all dodged a bullet here comrades.
They will need to bury her in three different coffins on sacred ground at midnight however or she will return from the political grave more dangerous than ever before.

Her departure weakens Luxon internally
Judith leaving is also the last rat off Luxon’s sinking ship.
Judith commanded the loyalty vote of many in the Cabinet who gained their positions because of her. When she threw her support behind Luxon to spite Simon Bridges, she was able to get many who supported her plum roles.
With her leaving, that block vote supporting Luxon disintegrates.
The more National slip, the more panicked they will become and the more they will turn on Luxon as NZ First cannibalises their National vote.

She was yet just another fucking lawyer who thinks they are ‘the law’….of which there are many in this country….
What an overrated, so called, ‘profession’…
Most charging larcenous fees simply because they have got it over people who either a)find themselves in a vulnerable situation, quite often through no fault of their own, and have limited options, or, b) are defending a crook who has truckloads of money and will pay big to deal to mr or mrs a).
Unlike Doctors, Surgeons, Airline Pilots, Builders etc…you know, proper professionals… if they screw up , they just get to keep the exhorbitant fees they’ve charged and walk away with a shrug and an “oh well”…they can be useless and have no accountability.
I don’t see her,out of the goodness of her heart, doing any Pro bono for poor underpriviliged people any time soon.
Collins was as dodgy as they come…
Think …dirty deals with the Chinese and the Orivida scandal and pulling up swamp Kauri up in Northland to make big money selling it to the Chinese….with a coverup story as to why an aviation fuel pipeline was dug up and ruptured…that story was buried with a mish mash of information of confusing reports coming out.
‘Crusher’ was a myth..she never crushed a single boy racer car…Anne Tolley crushed one.
This is the standard of politician National has never failed to produce year after year, decade after decade.
They are all mouth and no trousers backed by big dodgy money..
Collins = dodgy…and there are plenty more in the National, Act and N.Z. First parties just waiting to get their chance!
I always saw Judith more like a blindly loyal bulldog than a medusa, but it’s a different look. Lol.
“They will need to bury her in 3 different coffins on sacred ground at midnight however or she will return from the political grave more dangerous than ever before.”
This is a gem!
no mention of her loving the abuse in care of the ill and children .
And lying about to the UN General Assembly.
Another reason she shouldn’t enjoy a moments rest.
A reminder about Collins.
Oravida and her corrupt use of office to pimp her business in China. Anyone else would have lost their job over that stench.
Can we get to the bottom of her husband’s swamp kauri business and the destruction of the jet fuel pipeline? It sure sounds like they were responsible for millions of dollars of damage in business disruption.
Collins called herself “a person of colour, that colour is white”. Which is deeply fucking offensive to actual people of colour.
Asked “what’s wrong with being white?” There’s nothing wrong with being white Judy, your princess snowflake act is problematic though.
I do hope the Law Commission realise how bad the optics of her appointment are.
The parasitic power and cruelty fetishist eyebrow -aliens took over her mind.
Just like her cousins did back in the early ’80’s.
Liquid Sky.

Yes, political monster, Collins, is a smug, spiteful bully. In March 2014 Key issued her with a final warning re the Orivida scam! She’s claiming to be ‘proud as punch’ – ask Bridges about her punch. Put it this way she won’t go down in political history as a kind, caring or honest politician so watch her new role carefully and watch your backs!
