MEDIAWATCH: Q+A debate on Infrastructure highlights how utterly compromised TVNZ is when it comes to neoliberalism

The depoliticization of TVNZ into a lower middle class lounge room of bland vacant nothings was no where ore apparent than on Q+A this morning as Infrastructure wonk bitched about NZ Infrastructure.
The entire debate was built within the confines of neoliberalism and user pays privatisation without any attempt to examine how insane that is.
The solution to failed infrastructure from neoliberal policies is not more user pays!
It’s like using cancer to cure syphilis.
The rotten Infrastructure we have is because the rich dominated politics, lowered their tax levels and promoted user pays as some sort of solution.
Roads are a public asset, not something to privatise for the benefit of the Trucking Lobby!
The rates on Crown Land was one good idea. Rather than endlessly raise rates to deal with mass immigration policies that Central Governments set, make Central Government pay for rates on Crown Land for local councils PLUS giving the GST on rates to Local Councils to spend.
In NZ we have the pretence of debate that always reinforces user pays and privatisation neoliberalism, we are not talking about a Green Economy, we are not talking about taxing the rich to help pay for the welfare state and the climate change adaptation needed and we are certainly not talking about Sovereign Credit to fund our failing infrastructure.
We are locked into a neoliberal economic free market TVNZ world view.
