  1. Every time they do this shit, all it does is give them free publicity because the real money is online, and not a speaking tour.

    1. The Chairman. Well done the Free Speech Union.

Banning somebody because Australia did is pathetic.

Banning somebody won’t change viewpoints which one disagrees with. Listening, and robust discussion, and debate, are much more constructive than blocking ears.

And since when was the Immigration Dept New Zealand’s censor ? These are the irresponsible dumbos who prioritised DJ’s over doctors and nurses during the pandemic and they cannot be relied upon to make reasonable decisions.

  2. I mean, the reason that she was banned is that she criticized the genocide of the human population of Palestine, not ‘Australia’ or some of her whacky conspiracy theories about COVID and so on and so forth. You can tell that Deborah Hart, a strong supporter of the genocidal ‘israeli’ regime, is holding the whip hand.

    1. Preservation of the Holycost demands prohibtions.

I had forgotten about Candace until I read this article.

  3. The reason maybe gutless, but its pretty effin amusing at the same time. I was not expecting that. Still, when governments work primarily for special interests, rather than people interests – as is now the case today – then free speech becomes an issue for them. This is just one more example, one more indicator of the fascist road we are all on…thankfully for them, most of us don’t give a flying rats arse anyway.

  4. I have no idea who this woman is but is she actually antisemitic or does she have the temerity to point out that the Israeli administration are arseholes? There is a huge difference.

    1. She was fired by the zionist Ben Shapiro specifically for criticizing the genocide of Palestinians.

She has said some stupid conspiracy theorist level stuff on the level of say, the Russiagate conspiracy theory, like attributing some bad acts to a 200 year old jewish subcult known as Frankism. Nothing particularly antisemitic about it, just silly conspiracy theories.

  5. Martin Bradbury is absolutely correct on this issue. As Leon Trotsky wrote in 1939: “Under conditions of the bourgeois regime, all suppression of political rights and freedom, no matter who they are directed against in the beginning, in the end inevitably bear down upon the working class, particularly its most advanced elements. This is a law of history.”

  6. It just plays into her hands. If we let her in to speak, everyone would have yawned, had no idea who she was and not given her one iota of attention. But now they’ve banned her, it’s all over the news and she has got 100x the publicity she would have otherwise got!
Casey Costello is the Associate Minister of Immigration. Where is New Zealand First on this, the so-called champions of free speech?

    1. It seems certain that none of the Ministers knew about this decision. Just like Maccas in Wanaka being a ToW breach. It is bureaucrats running amok.

  7. It’s incredible that the Left is now the “side” that champions censorship while the right champions free-speech. Who saw that twist coming 10 years ago?

    1. Really. Is the government of the day “left”? It’s very “right” to take a decision and blame someone else. Did Australia ask us to do this?

    2. The right doesn’t champion free speech, get your head out of your ass and don’t be so fucking credulous. They’re every bit as censorious as some on the left who have forgotten their principles. Next you’re going to tell me Elon musk is a free speech champion or David Seymour… Bull fucking shit.

      1. In the UK Starmer is being asked to relegislate blasphemy law and is seriously considering the option. At least the Tories never went that far.

  8. Let the person speak so we can counter the argument. The supreme failing of the current underperforming motley triumvirate is that the public service has become more woke than under that ghastly Ardern.

    1. Ennius A public servant has to be woke to keep their job. Wellingtonians voted for Whanau because she’s a Green Maori female and her dismayed critics are now accused of racism. That’s how it is.

  9. By the way, where is all the mumbling about wokeness and being soft? I thought this coalition wouldn’t oversee such cotton wool treatment of peoples sensibilities? Imagine 1ZB if this happened a few years back.

  10. Interesting that she was to speak here now. Was she invited as an ‘overseas expert’ to tell us all about the Atlas network’s view of the Treaty?

Or is she promoting a book?

  11. What rubbish. This is just another attempt to silence people who are speaking out against the genocide. The NZ government and The Australian government have been tacitly complicit in this genocide and are running cover by throwing us the odd platitude and silencing any dissenting voices. Come on NZ Govt, show some moral courage, I know Jacinda would have.
