Announce protest actions, general chit chat or give your opinion on issues we haven’t covered for the day.

The Editor doesn’t moderate this blog,  3 volunteers do, they are very lenient to provide you a free speech space but if it’s just deranged abuse or putting words in bloggers mouths to have a pointless argument, we don’t bother publishing.

All in all, TDB gives punters a very, very, very wide space to comment in but we won’t bother with out right lies or gleeful malice. We leave that to the Herald comment section.

EDITORS NOTE: – By the way, here’s a list of shit that will get your comment dumped. Sexist abuse, homophobic abuse, racist abuse, anti-muslim abuse, transphobic abuse, Chemtrails, 9/11 truthers, Qanon lunacy, climate deniers, anti-fluoride fanatics, anti-vaxxer lunatics, 5G conspiracy theories, the virus is a bioweapon, some weird bullshit about the UN taking over the world  and ANYONE that links to fucking infowar.

Note it’s New World Rotorua. I use New World not in Rotorua and I understand there is a NI and SI division for accounting and controlling purposes. But everyone who uses New World should check with one of the staff each time they shop if they have installed some fancy face-lifting control or other spying device just to make that firm know they are on trial.

You could also ask what procedure you should follow if you see someone slipping things up their jumper! But note it is hard for businesses with shoplifters who have learned to manage their lives with free items to fill the gaps. (Like our political parties though, they have set up the game!) We must be fair and be ready for our bags to be checked and also not run around accusing others because they are acting differently to us, they may put items in a bag and not the trolley but turn it out at the check-out.

Also it would help keep our society going if you use the people on check-outs as much as possible. We need to stop being run by the machine owners who want our money which we are supposed to earn yet these businesses don’t want to employ people. How is society supposed to manage or flourish if we are just getting handouts as unemployed, from machines? Keep check-out jobs and know how to use the machines but try not to.

(The Warehouse which is NZ owned and does put money into our society. But I note that since they have gone into food they are encouraging people to do their own check-outs and just have helpers standing by, who would also be watching for thieves I imagine. Maybe we have to enable some firms if they are NZ owned to ensure they stay in business under our ownership. Remember the gummint being foreign-slanted during Covid, and not allowing The Warehouse to be a food supplier! We have to fight to keep our commercial and private interests in our own hands.)

We may have to consider bringing back the death penalty. But it to be decided after a judicial finding on the facts and a decision made as to penalty as normal. Then have the matter examined by a bunch of responsible people from the area. We wouldn’t want a ‘hanging judge’ setting him or herself up as some hardline purist. We should at the same time get a decent society going with people bringing up their children in a moral way, and the parents/caregivers being assisted in their important task. Did we used to have that, I forget?! The two approaches would go together.

People who have the ability to be in society have a responsibility to control themselves, otherwise they need to be kep under control and we need more mental hospitals and jail farms that are overseen by committees from the public which have to change entirely after sau two years. That might avoid a bad system from being passed down over the years.

It might not be quite as heinous as family present. Has this woman, without much support or advantages herself, being left to look after a family member with heavy needs? Family normally are quick to complain about the moolah not being there for them, but I know from my own relative’s experience that being the one needed to wipe their bottom and be at their beck and call is not enjoyable work and may not allow much personal time off or the chance to take one’s own life forward.

We can live a long time as frail and helpless dependents while family carers feel their own life slipping away with little joy presently or in the future.

  3. We’re seeing the flatulence of the Right’s positions now. Tax cuts and boot camps and everything in between. Manufacturing consent and then having to do the crack-pot thing you promised. Trump just bullshits over the gap. Take heed, our Right!

  4. Why would economists think of giving up on this expensive useless project; because it would be paving the way to the country giving up on this expensive useless neoliberal freemarket economic disaster and they could be dismissed and put to manual work – which they are not fit for! That though would not be efficient! But wait, seeing that AI is coming in might they be out of a job anyway. Answer – no because AI would be based on efficient thinking with reasoned outcomes, and human economists must be used for the job wanted which is to say one thing and misapply it to another thing while looking serious. It is very important not to break down into giggling inanities.

  5. NZ first is giving money to the Pacific to invest in their fisheries environment and sustainability while at the same time allowing our commercial fishing industry the green light for killing more seals, sicko!
