The electorate has spoken, and apparently it has said, ‘These far right hate clowns are our new Government, I hate Jacinda for saving 20 000 lives from Covid’.

How charming.

First up, this election wasn’t won, it was bought!

How much per vote

Act: $20.90

National: $9.34

NZ First: $6.91

TDB Recommends NewzEngine.com

Green: $5.62

Labour: $1.79

Te Pāti Māori: $1.69

The knee jerk bullshit policy alongside counterproductive punitive measures alongside Real Estate Lobbyist wet dreams have all combined to vandalise our Egalitarian State!

We are collectively a far worse country for this outcome!

The only thing that binds this hard right racist Government is a shared hatred of beneficiaries, workers, prisoners, renters, Māori and the environment!

We are implementing culture ware revenge fantasies as policy FFS!

It’s like the lunatics have taken over the asylum, we should be ashamed of the first month of this cavalcade of circus freaks masquerading as a Government!

Thanks to the Conspiracy Swamp Kingdom Winston now rules, we are passing Qanon Conspiracy Theories as actual State Policy!

This hard right racist Government has turned New Zealand into Q Zealand!

I’m not pissed off National won, that’s democracy, what I’m pissed off by is that they won with such vapid and venal policy.

National will rob 2 year olds, mutilate public transport and literally steal from climate change funds to pay for rich prick tax cuts!

The reason why this mutilation has won? Because the electorate hated Labour so much for saving us from a mass death event.

Labour won the Covid war but lost the Covid peace because their ‘rebuild’ was the same incremental bullshit Labour have always pursued. We all sacrificed equally during Covid but it was in an unequal society so the bleeding gums of our inequality swamped us with bitterness.

That voters didn’t care National, ACT and NZ First would unleash madness highlights how much voters were burnt by Covid lockdowns and Labour’s grotesque incrementalism.

With the specials in, the Māori Party stole the election and took 6 of the Māori Electorates and generated an overhang that means ACT/National need Winston!

Bhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahaha!

Rat. Fucked.

This is the worst threesome in NZ History – they all cry out their own names when they orgasm!

We have just elected a Government of antivaxx quacks, anti-indigenous Māori racists and climate deniers who will do the bidding of the Real Estate Pimps, Trucking Industry, the Corporate Farmers, the Banks and the Gambling Industry FFS!

How will this cavalcade of political circus freaks manage to last 3 years is anyones guess.

GREATEST POLITICAL IRONY 2023: Jacinda saving 20 000 Boomers who followed Chris Trotter and voted NZ First

The greatest political irony of 2023 was Jacinda saving 20 000 lives with her Covid leadership, unfortunately they were mostly boomers and they all followed Chris Trotter off to vote for NZ First! No good deed ever goes unpunished! Next time there’s a pandemic, let the Boomers die first AND THEN put on the restrictions!

Oldest Wardrobe: Brooke Van Veldon

As a 30 year old, Brooke is the only woman in NZ who dresses like she’s 53! Brooke’s wardrobe will receive the pension before she does, which is probably why ACT are so keen to push Super up to 67! Surprise win for Brooke in Tamaki, and I say surprise because after the debate we held in Tamaki, I thought Simon O’Conner would win. There’s an odd glow that comes to Brooke’s eyes when she talks about the State standing over poor people and telling them how to live, like the way Gollum speaks about his precious. During the debate, Brooke almost seemed aroused by the idea of slashing 15000 Government jobs where as O’Connor took a far more dignified and compassionate approach by calling for no slash and burn. Unfortunately this is Tamaki, which is Maori for, ‘Angry White Rich people living near the beach’, and anything less than the sacking of all public servants and sowing salt in their gardens is unacceptable. Look out poor people, Brooke is here to smother you to death in her off pink robe. No seriously. She is. RUN!

BEST QUOTE: Shane Jones on rednecks in Northland

At one point during our raucous Northland debate,  Matt King asked me why did I keep calling his party a ‘Conspiracy Theory Party’ to which I yelled at him, ‘because I went on your website, read your policy and you are a fucking Conspiracy Theory Party’.

I then turned to the audience and said, ‘There, I said it to your face Northland!’.

The denial of climate change and Covid was bewilderingly deep in Northland and I could barely hear the hatred spat at Willow-Jean over the duelling banjos.

As the debate ended, Shane Jones leaned into me and whispered, “They may not vote red mate, but their necks certainly are”.

He laughed.

I laughed.

And we both died on the inside.

Chippy’s incomprehensible blindness to why Labour lost is terrifying Award

The lies that the Wellington Beltway are telling themselves as to why Labour lost are all about ‘the vibe’. These cushioned middle class Labour arseholes in Wellington tell themselves they didn’t do anything wrong and Chippy seems equally confused!

They tell themselves that despite an unprecedented MMP majority, it wasn’t their fault that the policy incrementalism that has robbed them of any mana was to blame, oh no, it was ‘the vibe’.

Dr Incremental, Max Rashbrooke – the Wellington Woke General most responsible for the Wellington Left’s love affair with tiny insignificant gains and calling that a revolution, has been on the accursed The Spin-Off (surely NZ on Air is turning off the light on that woke social engineering notice board any second now?) and The Project (which has been cancelled) to assure us all to always look on the bright side of life…

12 graphs that show New Zealand isn’t doing as badly as you think

Trend lines show that we’re heading in the right direction in all sorts of ways, from race relations to ram raids. Max Rashbrooke celebrates the Upturn.

…we can not allow Labour Party apologists like Rashbrooke dominate the debate and let Labour and the Greens off the hook for the pitiful wins while they were in power!

Let’s look at Max’s evidence that things are great and not really that bad.

Greenhouse gas emissions – Sure the tiny incremental changes Max loves (which are all about to be thrown out by the new hard right racist Government) have shown a lowering of those emissions, but those numbers really dropped because of Covid lock downs. In light of the enormity of catastrophic climate events and temperatures last month that were 6 sigma out all point to run away climate change meaning everything we’ve incrementally achieved to date is meaningless.

Child poverty – The level of poverty desperation is hidden by Dr Incremental, Max Rashbrooke, whose pitiful defence of Labour’s foot dragging over at the eternally compromised Spinoff is made nonsense by CPAGs criticism that the numbers he’s relying on are horrifically compromisedand show none of the true magnitude of poverty.

Race relations – As the new hard right racist Government announce a purge of every reference to the Treaty and work to legislate it out of all Government policy, Dr Incremental tells us Race Relations have never been better.

Smoking rates – The new hard right racist Government have just dumped all plans to be smoke free by 2025 meaning everything he wrote here is now trashed.

Ram raids – On this he is correct but it doesn’t mean a fuck of a lot. Ram Raids are coming down and the work Labour did in providing wrap around services to damaged kids left feral by a system that doesn’t give a shit has worked, but not before the damage to the public perception has crystallised.

Justice reform – Again, doesn’t matter because a hard right racist Government has won and intends to build a new prison empire with far harsher sentences. It’s not enough to release people from prison, you need to release rehabilitated prisoners with the right wrap around services from prison and we on the Left failed at winning community support for that.

School attendance – To justify his argument that we should always look on the bright side of life, Max argues…

Last year, regular student attendance – defined by the Ministry of Education as students being at school at least 90% of the time – fell to just 39.8% in term two, the period when children are most absent due to winter illness.

In term two this year, the rate was 47% – hardly great, but an improvement nonetheless.

…when your position is 47% attendance rate is a success because it was 39.8%, I think you are becoming desperate for examples to prop up your incrementalism. All school truancy is destructive.

Emergency housing – John Minto has attacked these numbers so many times it’s weird Max is trying to defend them. We have 24 717 on the social housing wait list and are kettling beneficiaries into unsafe motels. The petty level of state housing builds is only made impressive because National did nothing for. decade. That isn’t progress, it’s incrementalism.

Public transport use – Shit Max is getting desperate. Public Transport use trending up only highlights the economic desperation many are now forced into , that’s not a symptom of good, that’s a symptom of economic desperation.

These were all ‘good first steps’ but there is only so many times you can hear that in 6 years and not realise that all these ‘first great steps’ are just amounting to jogging on the spot.

The Wellington Professional Managerial class that Rashbrooke represents will tell us that incremental change is the only change which is just a Wellington myth.

Look at how romper stomper the Right are about to go the millisecond they take power, while the Rashbrooke’s of the Left sing to us…

It’s not time to make a change
Just relax, take it easy
You’re still young, that’s your fault
There’s so much you have to know
Find a girl, settle down
If you want you can marry
Look at me
I am old, but I’m happy

I was once like you are now
And I know that it’s not easy

To be calm
When you’ve found something going on

But take your time, think a lot
Why, think of everything you’ve got
For you will still be here tomorrow
But your dreams may not

…fuck incrementalism and everyone pushing it on the Left as our way forward while the romper stomper hard right racist Government set fires to our cultural libraries.

Incrementalism, the Wellington Professional Managerial Class and the Woke are not the future of the true Left and they must be burnt out of any leadership role whatsoever if we are to have any hope of winning back political power in 2026.

We need a revolution at the ballot box, we do not need more incrementalism that makes middle class woke activists feel unthreatened about their privilege!

Bernard Hickey has argued, “We could have gotten $200 billion in extra tax revenues if only there had been a fair tax system which meant that capital gains were taxed at the same rate as every other type of income.”

In a liberal progressive democracy, it doesn’t matter what role you play in the complex super structure of our society and economy.

It doesn’t matter of you are a garbage collector, a dr, a nurse, a drain layer, teacher or tradie – if you all stopped doing your jobs the system can’t work.

Everyone deserves to share the collective harvest of civil society with public services and policies focused on the public good enshrined in the intrinsic civil liberties each individual has.

Wealthy individuals who become mega rich thanks to the landscape generated by those values are required to pay more back into the system they have benefited from beyond the bare necessity of ruthless accountancy practices.

These rich pricks have designed the system for themselves, ‘you can’t tax unrealised capital gains’ the Right scream, like bullshit we can’t!

If it means the mega rich have to sell a mansion or two to pay the tax bill, so fucking be it!

The obligation of the Government is to regulate Capitalism so that we the people benefit from the competitive dynamics of competition!

The disgusting right myth is that NZ is an over taxed, over regulated economy when that is total bullshit!

Our top tax rate is the 39th highest in the world behind all the Scandinavian countries plus Germany, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France and South Africa!

Australia’s top tax rate is 47cents!

Our GST rate doesn’t even get us into the top 50 and our corporate tax rate is 40th while Government spending against GDP ranks 56th!

And we are voted easiest to do business by the World Bank!

Total hours spent at work per year (OECD):

Germany- 1330
Denmark- 1346
Japan- 1598
Australia- 1683
Canada- 1644
UK- 1367
New Zealand- 1739

I’m not looking for socialism here folks, just basic garden variety regulated capitalism!

There are 14 Billionaires in NZ + 3118 ultra-high net worth individuals, let’s start with them, then move onto the Banks, then the Property Speculators, the Climate Change polluters and big industry.

You should be angry, NZ Capitalism is a rigged trick for the rich and powerful. The real demarcation line of power in a western democracy is the 1% + their 9% enablers vs the 90% rest of us!

Do not allow their smears of ‘Envy’ dilute the righteous rage you should all be feeling!

There’s no point making workers pay more to rebuild our resilience, tax the rich!

-Sugar Tax

-Inheritance Tax

-Wealth Tax

-Financial Transactions Tax

-New top tax rate on people earning over $300 000 per year.

-Capital Gains Tax

-Windfall profit taxes

-First $10 000 tax free

Lift the tax yoke from the workers and the people and place it on the mega wealthy and have them pay their fair share for once!

The true demarcation off power in a liberal progressive democracy is the 1% wealthy + their 9% enablers vs the 90% rest of us.

Stand. Stand now and demand more from this rigged capitalism!

The political project of National and ACT is to starve the State of revenue so that it can’t redistribute wealth in the first place.

That Chippy has no concept of ANY of this and is just blaming the ‘vibe’ is deeply worrying.

Political Media most deserving NZ on Air Funding Award: A view from Afar + BHN + Chris Lynch

When you look at the shite NZ on Air funds, there is real frustration that there are those in NZ who are doing incredible journalism who get nothing! A View From Afar with Selwyn and Paul is the best foreign affairs commentary in NZ, BHN do an amazing job of critiquing the news agenda and Chris Lynch continues to be one of the best journalists in the South Island! If NZ on Air have millions to waste on The Spin-off, surely they can find $100 000 each for these far better journalistic enterprises!

The worst time for a break up Award: Jacinda Ardern

The left-wing commentator, Martyn ‘Bomber’ Bradbury, editor of The Daily Blog, says Ardern’s greatest strength – empathy and kindness – was also a political Achilles heel.

“To my mind, there are two Jacindas – the one with superhuman emotional intelligence in moments of crisis that had us bonded in solidarity to one another, and the super cautious domestic policy Jacinda who, despite having our hearts soar from the rhetoric of transformation, always managed to disappoint in delivery,” he says.

“There are only so many ‘good first steps’ before you accept you are jogging on the spot. In the end her kindness exacerbated anger because when you are hurting, having someone smile at you makes you angrier.”

Bradbury called it “neo-kindness”.

“The level of toxic social media hate algorithms spewed against her demeaned us all as a people. She saved us from a mass death event, yet we turned on her,” he says.

“The day she stood down, we gasped as a country at how we ended up breaking her.

“When China tries to tell the history books that their authoritarian model and state coercion was the best way to defeat Covid compared to the weak democracies of the west, New Zealand can proudly hold its head up and point to our results based on being open and frank with our citizens and trusting in them to act in the common good.

“We could only do that because we had Jacinda as our leader. History will remember her boldness and we won’t forget it either. We will just wish she did so much more.”

Bradbury says it is important to properly farewell and thank Ardern, hailing her for her ability to inspire women.

“Her legacy is that she made every woman I respect and love stand two inches taller. Her leadership as a woman was authentic female power at its most humanly powerful. Kindness was a strength, not a weakness,” he says.

Best question: Does Chris Luxon believe in Dinosaurs?

Of course Chris believes in Dinosaurs. This picture proves it!

Dumbest Minister: Michael Wood, Kiri Allan, Nanaia Mahuta and Stuart Nash

It was impossible to pick worst Minister because all for were such enormous fuck ups!

What the fuck was Michael Wood thinking? You get the feeling his wife set everything up, got it wrong and then didn’t tell him she was wrong and he took her assurances and destroyed his now career and when challenged, he was too kind to his wife to drop her in it. If that’s what happened, let’s give Michael some love, if that’s not what happened, what the fuck Michael???

The enormous question hanging over Nanaia was, did she mislead her Cabinet about what was really in 3 Waters or was she too lazy to read it? If she truly misled Cabinet she deserved to get beaten by a 21 year old. If she was too lazy to read it, she still deserved to get beaten by a 21 year old!

Fucking Stuart Nash! Thank Christ he got nailed for passing on Cabinet details to donors and not cutting dodgy deals with the Forestry Industry!

Kiri Allan is the luckiest Māori lesbian in NZ! If it was a male doing what she was doing it would be toxic heteronormative white cis male privilege-o-rama. Ironically her current attempt to weasel out of her charges is pretty white male to be honest.

Worst Fundraising idea – Pole-dancing for the Green Party

Ummmm…

…can we pay her not to?

Worst Answer – Luxon’s claim of a $60 a week shopping bill

Luxon claimed during one of the debates that he spent $60 a week on grocery shopping which seemed so weird and produced a flurry of news stories trying to ascertain what the hell he was eating that cost a mere $60 a week. In the above photo he has spent half his weekly supermarket spend. It was obvious he was pointlessly lying when he said he only spent $60 a week, like the way he lied about his wife gaining the Tesla subsidy while he was raging against it. For Chris these little white lies are a means to gloss over issues so one can move ahead positively. You know, like a middle management grasper who gains CEO promotion through sheer toadying.

Worst twitter temper tantrum – Chris Bishop

Look, if I had run the National Party campaign as poorly as Chris, I’d be throwing temper tantrums too, but this one which was so easily proven wrong by the media who invited everyone felt like a new low even for Chris…

…Bishop acted like a teenage tantrum for most of National’s disastrous campaign, and kept attacking things like a dog chasing parked cars. For a 40 year old, his gaunt bitter appearance has aged him, I can’t work out if it’s nicotine or being in the National Party.

Biggest Arsehole – Simeon Brown

The more I see of Simeon Brown, the more I dislike him…

…Simeon gets sadistic kicks out of race baiting about da gangs da gangs as if he’s some tough guy. His misrepresentation of the engagement with gangs and his virgin moralism marks him either as an idiot, a liar or a sociopath. Personally I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he was caught with a huge number of unexplained children’s shoes under his house.

You have to cut her head off when you bury her to prevent her coming back Award: Judith Collins

Wait – what – Judith Collins as the Attorney General Minister AND Minister of GCSB and NZSIS???

Jesus fucking wept! No one as ruthless, dangerous and manipulative as Judith Collins should ever be allowed anywhere near the Intelligence Apparatus! It’s like giving an arsonist a flame thrower and a subscription to Burn Porn! She is the most unsuited human being for that level of power and if ANYTHING keeps you up at night, it should be Judith Collins as the Minister for Spooks!

I heavily criticised Andrew Little for quitting and allowing all of the reform and expansion of the Intelligence Agencies to have so little check and balance by arguing he had left all the moving parts for a Police State to be assembled by whoever took the job under National.

THAT PERSON IS JUDITH COLLINS!

She is an utterly inappropriate person with a long history of abusing power to be handed so much power.

That Judith Collins will now be the Master of Spies should scare the shit out of everyone.

WORST COMEBACK: Winston Peters

There must be some kind of way outta here
Said the joker to the thief

The suave silver fox of NZ politics has conned his way back into the hen house by appealing directly to the feral antivaxx lunatic fringe and climate denier electorate and it’s been just enough to hold the country to ransom for his list of petty culture war bullshit. Minister of Pork Barrels Shane Jones gets his $1.2billion slush fund and Winston gets Foreign Minister perks and is also the Racing Minister, an industry endlessly donating to NZ First. NZ First is like a bad case of chlamydia that never goes away.  The best part of Winston being the new Foreign Minister? He is now Trevor Mallards Boss, the same Trevor Mallard who attempted to trespass Winston from Parliament.

Worst Campaign – Liz Gunn, Brian Tamaki and the antivaxx movement

Liz Gunn got her list in late so she had no party list beyond 3 names. Getting your paperwork in to start your political movement is kinda 101 stuff and that she cocked it all up so magnificently at the first hurdle is as funny as it is pitiful. At this stage, I just think she needs some mental health intervention because this was never rational and was always unhinged.

Tamaki has gloriously screamed at ‘gutless Christians’ for his poor polling, but seeing as God tells those Christians who to vote for, isn’t Brian’s fury at the Lord rather than his vassals, and if that is the case, has God turned on Brian? Thoughts and Prayers.

The wider more feral Antivaxx conspiracy vote went nowhere…

…and only found solace in NZFirst who has given them political voice.

Thank god these narcissistic egos are so toxic they can’t work together and were eclipsed by the greatest Ego of them all, Winston Peters.

Worst Neighbourhood Watch

Cross burning race crime or friendly bumbling pakeha bloke wanting to pat on the head to a young Māori Party candidate? Who can say? What would be nice is for Māori to be able to wander through pakeha private property with the same gleeful abandon.

Worst Election Stunt – Luxon in pirate costume

What the fuck was he doing? Fighting for Colonialism?

Best Political Podcast: The Working Group

If you didn’t think I’d pick my own podcast show as the best political podcast, this must be the first time you’ve ever visited this blog! We hosted 7 live televised debates with 5 electorate specific polls, no other network minus state funding was able to dot anything like that! We reset the election debate paradigm and had every other news producer in NZ desperately attempting to copy what we were doing without ever acknowledging they were watching us in the first place. We see you! TWG returns in the new year with a massive change that will finally destroy all other political podcasts.

Conclusion:

This election wasn’t won, it was bought by private interests manipulating your anger at post Covid bitterness.

This knee jerk crap alongside counterproductive punitive measures alongside Real Estate Lobbyist wet dreams combine to vandalize the Egalitarian State.

Taking from the poor to give to the rich ain’t my bag baby and we are a collectively worse nation for this outcome

The only thing that warms the cynical black splinter of what is left of my heart is the thought of Winston, Seymour and Luxon all having to work together.

If that’s ‘winning’, losing don’t feel so bad

If you thought Labour were awful, after 3 years of this National/ACT/NZ First nightmare, you will be screaming for Covid to make a come back!

Many Kiwi will be shocked at how extreme the first month of this hard right racist Government has produced and that shock will quickly turn to disgust as voters realise just how corrupt the policy platform will be.

The rich have won an incredible class war victory against renters, workers, the environment, Māori and beneficiaries.

Connecting with those about to be smashed by the right and get them too vote Left will require policy that focuses on the material well being of voters as opposed to alienating woke dogma.

No poor families were sitting around the kitchen table cancelling each other for misusing pronouns, they were trying to work out how to pay the fucking bills!

We are a lesser people for this new hard right racist Government and mass civil disobedience will be required to blunt their war on the poor.

Buckle up, shit bout to get real in 2024.

Predictions 2024 will be published shortly.

  1. “We cannot allow Labour Party apologists like Rashbrooke to dominate the debate..”

Poor old wheel is going to feel pretty left out.

    • Pointing out what dickheads this coalition government is made up of doesn’t make me a Labour Party apologist. Neither does disagreeing with your comments. That’s called common sense

      • It’s your constant Labour turd polishing that stands out but do go on about other stuff if you feel better.
How is complete denial working out for Labour?
Still falling in the polls as it turns out.

        • It’s not turd polishing to say things like a small fund over three years is not buying and paying for the media. That’s just paranoid bullshit from people who clearly can’t read what’s in front of them ( which was never positive towards the government of the day at all). It’s the sort of thing Winston Peters says which just confirms it’s a stupid thing to say.

It’s also not turd polishing to say Marsden Point closed down because of that supposed cure all, ‘the market’. It wasn’t the government. It’s companies improving their margins.

Yes Labour are awful what can I say. Didn’t vote for them as a party. The sad thing is they are awful because they are not unlike the National party save a disappointing nod to the environment and the pay packets of some.

  2. “Taking from the poor to give to the rich ain’t my bag baby and we are a collectively worse nation for this outcome”

Yes, this is the most perfect description of this government. Debate all you want but by every metric this is the truth. And as you rightly say Martyn… “Buckle up, shit bout to get real in 2024”

  3. The key line here is…“Labour won the COVID war but lost the COVID peace”.

During peak COVID Labour should have made payments direct to workers via IRD not employers, and extended the second tier middle class benefit to all–you know the one–where you could receive a benefit while your partner still worked…

But regardless of that thousands were saved, 20,000 grans, friends and familiy would likely not have been at Christmas dinner this year. The Natzos would have let it rip and kept borders open, so more than 20,000 could have copped it actually.

NZ Labour should have immediately started what we list here in regards to State House mega build, wealth tax and all the rest. Give something tangible back to those that sacrificed a lot.

    • Simple fact is LABOUR RECIEVED THEIR REWARD FOR COVID MANAGEMENT IN 2020 with an absolute majority.
Their downfall was they did nothing productive with it, consequentually they were caned in 2023 for absolute incompetence in every feild.
Worse still every thing of note Labour tried to do has now been caste aside in the last 3 weeks.
Jacinda’s Govt now will now have NO LEGACY WHAT SO EVER

      • troll on…since shortly after the 2020 election I have posted many times here stating that NZ Labour was squandering their “once in a generation MMP majority”, I was one of the first to use that term.

NActFirst will repeal much, and freeze the minimum wage–but not dare reduce it–there is some legislation that sticks and some that does not when a Govt. changes, as the Natzos also know well.

      • Sadly in your case Jacinda’s government kept most alive during covid, that’s her legacy to you.

“or absolute incompetence in every field.”

She let you down in the “field” of literacy, we see that. Other than that, the above line is utter nonsense and plain rhetoric.

  4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDS0RBMspGk

    This is a must watch.

The far right in 2024 are going to be coming out in force.

If we do not want NZ to lose its polynesian focus Maori and Pakeha allies are going to have to step up.

    Read this;

    https://docs.google.com/document/d/e/2PACX-1vTVKXogdYKfRSeY2ZZ0SYDUdeB7srQVxl_vfEtL0Mr9TrU5zLwT00nnCclCUri3BiL0WJ3r20SscyRt/pub?
    Also read the original post.

Race relations in NZ in 2024 are going to be under attack like never before.

The far right neo liberal elite will make nationals political donations seem small .
Remember Don Brash’s iwi kiwi campaign that will seem like a dogs breakfast by comparison.

    • No disrespect, but why the fuck do we want a “Polynesian focus”? They do not represent a majority, and they are a tiny part of the economy.

      • It’s a melting pot. If you go to south Auckland you’ll find Polynesian food. If you go to Mt Wellington you’ll find Sudanese food. Yknow. And I don’t think anyone says that we have to many Asian restaurants.

  5. Labour did it!

Because they did nothing about all these issues for 6 years!
Except for piging out on a $100b middle class welfare bailout!!

And when the 2023 general election come. Instead of getting a return on their ($100b muddle class bailout). It went to the current government, political parties!! How dumb is that!!

So all I can say is….Labour Did It!!

    • You keep saying that they did nothing however the massive increase in salaries to health, education and police was required because for 9 years “National didn’t do it” which meant we lost thousands to Australia. So when when we are asking the question of who increased the incomes to match Australia’s, I agree with you Labour did it!

        • Den: What do you mean? Can you specifically explain what Labour did “in one foul swoop”?

Evidently most NZers weren’t voting for a wealth tax, or a tax exemption from the first $30,000 of income, because more would have voted for Te Pāti Māori or the Green Party if these were the main policies concerning voters.

Surely you understand, as Martyn Bradbury stated above, “This election wasn’t won, it was bought by private interests manipulating your anger at post Covid bitterness…….The rich have won an incredible class war victory against renters, workers, the environment, Māori and beneficiaries”.

From the National Party website: “The new coalition government of National, ACT and New Zealand First will be stable, effective and will deliver for all New Zealanders, National Leader and incoming Prime Minister Christopher Luxon says”. http://www.national.org.nz

How do you think the new Government is going to “deliver for all New Zealanders”, particularly the most vulnerable, rather than further enriching the already wealthy and deliberately creating and/or reinforcing divisions in society?

            • Even when the evidence is put in front of you, your right wing bias shines through, you read like a Playboy magazine Den, very simple. They may have fucked up your lifestyle but there are plenty of us extremely happy.

            • What utter rubbish Den. They certainly got things wrong but they didn’t get everything wrong. The Key government didn’t get everything wrong either. All these retarded comments that Labour alone f’cked up the health system are just stupid.

    • Here’s the short list of labour fails. Some of you might need to find yourselves some tissues to dry your eye.

recorded within a 90-day period. In the 18 months since the measures were announced, only three people have been kicked out of Kāinga Ora properties even though there have been more than 10,000 complaints.

      That is the short list.

      • Here’s some… 30,000 more people on surgery wait list than when Labour came into power.
25,000 on Kāinga Ora’s wait list currently without a house, tripling in size since Labour came into power.
In 2016, retail crime was 25,000 per year, in the 3 months to the end of April 2023, there were 45,046 retail crimes reported (equates to 180,000 per year) = a 620% increase. 70% of the crimes are not even being reported. In 2016, police attended 1 in every 2 crimes compared to only 1 in 10 now. In 2016 the arrests were 20 times higher, now the arrests are only 2.3% meaning that over 97% get away with it. Police retail crimes unit only has 8 staff.
Labour introduced state funding of pre-sentencing reports to reduce criminal sentences.
2023: NZ hospitals are short of 7136 full time workers; Auckland alone needs 1128.
August 2023: The IMF now forecasts NZ will have the second worst economic growth in the world next year, just edging out Equatorial Guinea (which has been ripped apart by civil war).
August 2023: There are 50 accused of homicide & 70 accused of kidnapping or abduction who are out in the community on bail with ankle bracelets; which can be wrapped in tin foil to bypass the monitoring allowing them to freely roam around the public.
NZ total net wealth has been falling for five successive quarters – having peaked in December 2021 at $2.43 trillion.
Announced in 2017 the promise by Labour to build 100,000 homes – by September 2023 only 1834 built, or 1.8% of that promised. At this rate it would take Labour 332 years to hit their own target.
Net debt has gone from $5.4 billion in 2019, to $78.7 billion in 2023 (1357% increase).
Labour has taken away all healthcare targets. Every single healthcare metric has gone backwards in the last five years, even though Labour has increased healthcare spending by 68%.
Tax take in 2017 was $69 billion, now it is $107 billion, an increase of $38 billion in tax every year = over $100 million in extra tax every single day! That is $17,500 in extra tax per household each year.
Ram-raids on retailers have soared under Labour, with a more than 500 per cent increase within the first six months of 2022 compared to the same period in 2018. 2022 = 516 ram raids. 2023 = 400 in first 6 months therefore tracking for 800.
211,00 kids living in benefit dependent homes, which is 39,000 more kids than when Labour’s government began 6 years ago.
Labour government has increased consultant spending from $900 million the previous year to $1.25 billion this year – a massive 33% increase, even after Labour increased public service employees by 50,000 since Labour took office.
Burglaries crime stats: 49% under 18 years old, 51% of those did not face court action. 112 between 0-17 arrested received a family group conference – that’s it. Most was just a formal or informal warning. 94 didn’t receive any consequence whatsoever.
IMFs 2023 outlook forecasts New Zealand will have one of the lowest GDP growth rates and one of the highest inflation rates in the Asia Pacific region in the coming years. In their projections for GDP, NZ’s current account balance is reported as -8.6 percent of GDP, worse than Greece’s at -8.0 percent, in 2023. NZ was one of the best GDP performing countries in the world, now we are bottom half of advanced countries in the world with the worst current account deficit of all of them.
Core Crown Revenue since 2017 is up 334% (never taxed us more), while Core Crown Expenses has gone up 596% (day to day expenses which do not build physical assets for the Crown), net Core Crown Debt has gone up 482% (borrowing).
April 2023: The number of households in emergency accommodation for more than 2 years has doubled in the last year. Over 20,000 looking for help with housing. Now at 65,000 state houses. 3 weeks was the average time in emergency accommodation in 2018, 2022 = 21 weeks, March 2023 = 26 weeks.
In February 2022, Kāinga Ora announced new policies to deal with the worst offenders, including a termination option if three serious incidents were recorded within a 90-day period. In the 18 months since the measures were announced, only three people have been kicked out of Kāinga Ora properties even though there have been more than 10,000 complaints.
Finally, on page 12 of this exhaustive list, Alex Holland finishes with this blast. Many of the items he lists here, I have written about previously, but not so emotively. What Holland is saying in his emotive tone reflects the deep mistrust and anger that sits below the surface in New Zealand. I might not agree with his tone, but I understand his frustration and hurt. That may sound wokish, but that is why a sad division has appeared in New Zealand. Sadly, MSM has tried desperately, and incorrectly, to play down or even misrepresent this ill-feeling as that driven by the extreme element of our society. Or even taint them as conspiracy theorists, when in fact, many New Zealanders quietly seethe with anger. That is reflected in my discussions with friends, whether they are on the left or right of the political spectrum, and that is an indictment of what has happened in New Zealand over the last three years at least.

Labour deliberately left their hidden agenda out of the last election campaign and prevented the public having any say or vote on them; including co-governance, He Puapua, officially backing & rolling out the unofficial Te Tiriti o Waitangi (including the fabricated intent of ‘partnership’), 3 Waters, Maori Health Authority, TVNZ & RNZ merger, speed limit reductions, removal of public vote on Maori health wards, proliferation of Maori names, The Three Strikes Repeal Bill, fair pay agreement and income insurance scheme. Even when most of these were released under stealth tactics (and most only consulted with Maori – especially constitutional transformation), they disguised the impact of change under a mountain of spin, not what New Zealanders expected when Jacinda Ardern promised that she would run an open and transparent government.
Labours failed ideological projects like the unmitigated cluster of merging the most and least successful Polytech’s into one big sea of mediocrity which is haemorrhaging money and lost over half of its top staff, cycle harbour bridge that didn’t deliver anything with more than $51 million spent on it, the bright-line test extension that didn’t slow house price inflation, the clean car discount to the most wealthy to buy an electric car, the Plain Language Act police, the fart tax to put one in 5 farms out of business, banning using NZ coal to use records amounts of imported dirty Indonesian coal, public interest journalism fund where the public has no interest in seeing extortion used by having to promote the unofficial Te Tiriti o Waitangi agenda & falsehoods in order to get funding, the new history curriculum that divides New Zealanders into victims and villains, shutting down charter schools while school attendance rates have plummeted, cost of living payments to foreigners and dead people, preventing immigration while businesses fail due to staff shortages etc. And that’s before you get to the Covid handling abomination – slowest in OECD to get the vaccines causing unnecessary extension to expensive lockdowns, MIQ lottery & debt, leaked private records, tracing failures & millions spent on Covid app Blue tooth tracking then never used, PCR testing meltdown, slowest in OECD to get RAT tests then confiscated private business imports of them, ‘short & sharp’ lockdown imprisoning Aucklanders for 4 months, saying would never mandate the vaccine then mandating it & persecutions etc…

  6. I have many houses. I live in them all periodically.
One of my houses is in the middle of a paddock in the middle of rich and fertile farming lands. That paddock is owned by a fourth generation farmer. That farmer is fucked. He’s reduced his stock to a bare minimum, he’s no longer tilling or applying fertiliser, he’s not diversifying. His plan is to sell capital stock until he’s cleared is personal debts and then to live off his superannuation on a massive, privately owned parkland setting thus fuck us all.
Previous to his fuckedness he could feed thousands of people yearly. He could export his sheep wool to almost anywhere and pull in capital for us all to leech off. He, and others, can no longer do that. Which means, we too are going to be fucked.
Why? Because roger douglas was an attempt to help deep-state dug-in criminals to escape inquiry. They’d been swindling our primary industry farmers for generations but they can now see the writing on the wall in big fucking capital letters, aye boys?
And now, today, we have a national party parasite that’s about to turn on its host to watch farming derail in a most alarming and destructive manner so’s the useless rich can walk away with the loot while we die in a ditch beside the tracks. ( Print this off and stick it to your fridge as reference. Before the next farce that’s known as an election, we’ll belong to someone else and that’s how they’ll escape the searching questions of the 52 thousand farmers asking the 14 multi-billionaires, the 3118 multi-millionaires each with $50 million each nett and the four now foreign owned banks who literally steal your money at a rate of $180.00 a second 24/7/365 this searching question. “Where’s our fucking money?” )

  7. The poor people around the table were paying high bills due to Labour’s handling of the economy that is why if they voted it was not for the courts that caused their problems.
Jacinda got her thank you in 2020 then blew the chance to prove how successful an unfettered Labour Party could take this country back to the success it was in the past. Instead they hired 16000 extra public servants and did little for the poor or the sick of the country.

    • You just resented the fact that you couldnt stuff your workers out of much needed payrises, and were forced to let them take breaks and just work them to death.

Thousands of workers in thos country got payrises for the first time in 30 years, and they also got their smoko breaks back, and angry old gammons like could only watch as workers were able to take morning tea for the first time ever.

      • You seem to live in a fantasy World unconnected to reality. I do not know of any places of work where there was no lunch break or tea break and I sure there were no staff on the same wage as they were on in 1993.

      • You are so out of touch with the reality it’s now become hilarious. But please keep posting from whatever dimension you are in, the country loves a good laugh.

  8. I intensely dislike Labour ,,,, BUT …

  9. You keep saying that they did nothing however the massive increase in salaries to health, education and police was required because for 9 years “National didn’t do it” which meant we lost thousands to Australia. So when when we are asking the question of who increased the incomes to match Australia’s, I agree with you Labour did it!

    • No she isnt. It is because of her that workers in this great country got their biggest improvements in wages and conditions in 30-40 years.

      • That Treasury warned “this great country” couldn’t afford. The reality is that Ardern squandered a majority unheard of under MMP and ran away before reckoning.

        • After Key fucked our country, Ardern was a shining light.
And fuck treasury you idiot and people wonder why nurses left for Aussie in droves whilst Key was happy to pay his lot annual increases. Not to bright are you sunshine.
Key was the worst PM in our history, undisputed.

          • You said
After Key fucked our country, Ardern was a shining light.

I say the bar was not high.

            You said
And fuck treasury you idiot and people wonder why nurses left for Aussie in droves whilst Key was happy to pay his lot annual increases. Not to bright are you sunshine.

I say this is hard to follow but “to” should be “too”. I passed year 3 spelling.

            You say
Key was the worst PM in our history, undisputed.

I say that you wrongly think I rated Key. He was marginally better than Princess Pollyanna.

            • You say that Ardern squandered a majority unheard of under MMP and ran away before reckoning.

I say although “to” should be “too” you thinking Key was marginally better than “Princess Pollyanna” displays your character, name calling says you are still in year 3.

I’d suggest you look at the things Key did during his reign, some were gross (gravely deficient in civility or decency : crudely vulgar). Similar to your name calling.

        • Whatever. Our workers needed those payrises, because employers were making a lot of money during the so called ‘rockstar economy’ and the workers weren’t getting their share of it. In some cases workers were stuck on the same wage for decades.

          • Under 9 years of a Key government wages went backwards due to English’s “low wage economy”.
Treasury said “this great country” could afford.

  10. ” This election wasn’t won, it was bought by private interests manipulating your anger ”

Every three years and in between Bomber it never changes.

LINO are just as culpable when it comes to private interests that control the candidate selection and policies they will promote to support the managerial class that many of these people are recruited from who think they support the once NZLP ideals of the below $60,000 wage earners and destitute pensioners and people who are disabled and genuinely sick.

Its time to leave Hipkins who just can’t understand why the managerial class lost after pandering to their every need and leaving the rest they solicited votes for to rot and be at the mercy of the Nasties and the Arsesole C**t party and Peters/ Jones who have resumed their arrogant born to rule position in the parliament.

Jones can’t hide his delight in being back in the house for three years and all the tax payer benefits coming his way.

        • A gull-nibbler you mean? I thought they were birds under care, the black-backed gull I talked to the other day looked very bright and alert. Save the last of our bright indigenous birds before the dogs of war chase them away.
