Even LINO’s own polster …. Labour’s support has crashed to its lowest point in at least four years in the latest Talbot Mills corporate poll, tumbling five points to 31 per cent, its lowest rating in that poll since at least 2019.
National rose one point to 36 per cent, as did likely governing partner Act which is on 12 per cent.
The Greens are up one point too, on 8 per cent.
Commentary released with the poll said it is the first time National has been ahead of Labour by five points or more and the first time the centre-right has been ahead of the centre-left has by five points or more since the 2017 election.
Te Pati Maori scored 4.2 per cent, NZ First was on 4 per cent, and TOP was on 2.9 per cent.

Shades of Diana all over again. So sad, and he was looking for a good loving lasting relationship I believe. I hope he will be able to rise above this and take a close look at developments and his future. Perhaps King Charles can talk quietly with him and share confidences as a kind father could manage.

The Te Huia train has been temporarily banned from operating in Auckland following two incidents.
In a statement, Waka Kotahi said it had issued the prohibition notice to KiwiRail, preventing Te Huia passenger rail service from entering the Auckland metro area because of recent Signal Passed at Danger (SPAD) incidents.
The notice meant Te Huia’s route, which usually ended at The Strand in Parnell, would terminate at Papakura from this afternoon.
Buses would replace the trains within the Auckland metro area.
Waka Kotahi said two SPAD incidents had been reported by KiwiRail involving Te Huia this year as it travelled between Hamilton and Auckland.
I have the feeling that these agencies doing government work are actually working against the interests of citizens. Is KiwiRail being managed properly or are they forced to skim on procedures and materials and staff by government wanting lots of money.

More than three and a half years after the horror of the Whakaari-White Island eruption, signs identifying Whakatāne as the gateway to the volcano are still in place.
Now Whakatāne District Council says, despite differing views, the signs will be gone by summer.
While it is still possible to book a scenic flight over the volcano, it is not currently possible to set foot on the island and White Island Tours has said it will not be returning to the island.
Is there a suggestion that NZ is a bit slow to remedy mistakes? Then again should the sign be taken away? I call for a referendum on this sensitive matter. What I really would like to see is two or three extra gradings to indicate activity of the Island. What about it the particular entity/Department.
