Deputy Mayor is forced to drag Wayne Brown from stage after he continues to whine and complain about how the media is treating him during a stand up interview train wreck.

Tonight a special on the unprecedented Auckland flooding disaster.

Where was the leadership, what is the impact, how does Auckland recover and how do we face our climate warming future?

We will also look at last nights political polls to see which Government will pick up that climate warming future challenge.

To debate these issues The Auckland Chamber of Commerce CEO, Simon Bridges, Greenpeace spokesperson Amanda Larsson and Stuff Columnist Damien Grant.

We are also trying to get Auckland Central MP Chloe Swarbrick to appear.

The podcast broadcasts live 7.30pm Tuesdays from our purpose built studio bunker ADJACENT to Mediaworks studios on Facebook, YouTube & The Daily Blog and posted up afterwards on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Rova & YouTube

    • Yes that was the total some of their voting base, 300 radicals. That won’t win anyone an election, it will only create more mental health facilities.

  1. Thanks to all who fronted up. Shame Chloe couldn’t make it. How/where did Damien get so sunburnt this summer??!! (Bad lighting on pastey white ol’ skin? Amanda made the best arguments and came fully informed imo. Bridges bats better out of government politicking, but meh, he’s Chamber of Commerce CEO now so still super out of touch with everyone who is not big business. Damien Grant, yeah it’s nice to see the positive but you don’t seem to be grasping that these events are no longer once in 100 years, while failing to offer potential solutions other than people from Asia are happy to buy houses on flood plains. Forgive me Amanda for not catching your last name. It wasn’t a debate, but on the face of, Greenpeace brought the facts. Bomber, you really need to secure more field experts and women to the show, to bring balance. Good show, thank you everyone 🙂

  2. Great show. Poor old Damien couldn’t grasp the fact that all folk were asking for from Wayne B. was some simple leadership. He tried to defend a failing by insisting people didn’t need a cuddle – but that’s not what was being asked for.
The new 21st Century paradigm is going to leave a lot of the old globalist BAU dinosaurs high and dry (excuse the pun), as they try to defend their increasingly indefensible positions. Last night was a great example.
Thanks to the participants & producers.

  3. Please don’t

After calling the media drongos and prioritising his planned tennis engagement over addressing the severe weather warning, the Mayor begs the Herald to censor his comments.

“Anyhow I’ve got to deal with media drongos over the flooding tomorrow so sadly no tennis for me tomorrow.” He signed off as “Browny”.

The Herald asked Brown to comment, saying a story was to be written on the message thread. He responded by text message: “Please don’t.”

  4. Brown and the Labour Party need to be held accountable for this fiasco here in Auckland.

About time the drainage and sewerage systems were sorted rather than this Third World set up we have now, Labour should have sorted this out in conjunction with Auckland City Council.

Rates keep going up in Auckland with Zero Improvement, huge wage rises for Auckland Council Executives and additional staff, just a bunch of professional seat warmers and bludgers.
