Announce protest actions, general chit chat or give your opinion on issues we haven’t covered for the day.

The Editor doesn’t moderate this blog,  3 volunteers do, they are very lenient to provide you a free speech space but if it’s just deranged abuse or putting words in bloggers mouths to have a pointless argument, we don’t bother publishing.

EDITORS NOTE: – By the way, here’s a list of shit that will get your comment dumped. Sexist language, homophobic language, racist language, anti-muslim hate, transphobic language, Chemtrails, 9/11 truthers, Qanon lunacy, climate deniers, anti-fluoride fanatics, anti-vaxxer lunatics, 5G conspiracy theories, the virus is a bioweapon, some weird bullshit about the UN taking over the world  and ANYONE that links to fucking infowar.

…Gerrard said 90 percent of last summer’s 93 water fatalities were men, particularly those over 55.
“As you get older, that risk profile is far worse – 55-pluses are the target market for us because they are just not listening.”

2022’s toll of 93 was the worst this century, Gerrard said. So far, 2023 is thankfully well off that record-setting pace – which he put down to the bad weather putting most people off hitting the beach.

This illustrates the problem we have in NZ – people who think they know everything and are not able to alter their minds or practices in a reasoned way. If it ain’t broke why change they say, and when new factors enter in the routine, they ignore them and won’t make changes.

So old men, and women, take note we are not in the 20th century, which we weren’t managing well, and have not altered our thinking to cope with the additional new problems of this 21st century. We have to do more than just survive otherwise we won’t cope and all will drown.
    (Is that a metaphor?)

Little tears in our social fabric can be mended we hope. But rents can become serious.
Why is this Settlers Day being put forward? My fnmily have been here since before the 1900s. And I thought that though matters needed to be improved, we were working our way to achieving a balanced bicultural relationship. But going monetarist has dried up much good will and now we see this sterile approach from those with shrivelled souls and brains.

This is how I see the hardliners on both sides, unlovely and stuck in a narrow space. Get real and in the now – no good sitting and waiting for the end of our civilisation – be like Michael Keaton and try to change things now (for better relationships in NZ).
