Announce protest actions, general chit chat or give your opinion on issues we haven’t covered for the day.

The Editor doesn’t moderate this blog,  3 volunteers do, they are very lenient to provide you a free speech space but if it’s just deranged abuse or putting words in bloggers mouths to have a pointless argument, we don’t bother publishing.

EDITORS NOTE: – By the way, here’s a list of shit that will get your comment dumped. Sexist language, homophobic language, racist language, anti-muslim hate, transphobic language, Chemtrails, 9/11 truthers, Qanon lunacy, climate deniers, anti-fluoride fanatics, anti-vaxxer lunatics, 5G conspiracy theories, the virus is a bioweapon, some weird bullshit about the UN taking over the world  and ANYONE that links to fucking infowar.

  1. Soooo, was TDB having a long weekend off? Technical difficulties? Covid illness? A word from Martyn maybe? Just curious as I’ve not noticed the blog inactive for so long before

  2. Comrades.

Myself, all our bloggers and the mods took a couple of weeks off and we all happened to take the last weekend off. Us missing in action. seems to have sparked some concern.

There was no conspiracy, we are all just exhausted from a bloody hard year and needed to recharge our batteries for the coming election year circus.

This is now the 10th year of The Daily Blog and every year I ask why the hell I keep doing this and look at all the other things I want to go and do, but then I see the stats for the year and we had just under 5million page views for 2022 and I’m reminded of the importance TDB plays in the ecosphere of the NZ political media landscape and recommit myself to push on while juggling the million other things we need to do to keep this project running.

TDB will return for Election 2023 with a passion to hold the political ideologies and party’s to account while calling it the way we see it.

    Stop bitching and start donating!

Here’s to Election 2023 and all the madness that comes with it. This is our country, this is our democracy, let the debate to lead begin.

    • Fair enough. Let’s get donating and don’t make it crypto-currency! We appreciate all of yous, but next time give us some warning that you all haven’t been stricken with Covid or some gagging disease, please.

  3. On 30 September 2022, Russia, unilaterally declared its annexation of areas in and around four Ukrainian oblasts – Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson (withdrawn from since).

Of course no annexation of an area recognised as belonging to another nation state member of the UN is legal in international law (1949).

Of course until a recognised representative of Palestine formally declares a state (generally Israel’s borders are recognised as the 1949/1967 ones) the extra territorial occupation is in legal limbo.

  4. Interesting job opportunity.
The NATZ are strong on wasteful use of taxpayers’ money but no hesitation here in spending to have someone else carry out your job for you and double dip in the public purse ; albeit for just a few months. Seems like our recently voted MP for Hamilton West doesn’t want to mix with the ” bottom feeders ”

As Parliamentary Community Engagement & Communications Advisor to MP Tama Potaka, you’ll bring your political know-how and charming nature to a role that’s diverse and rewarding. You’re not likely to sit behind a desk all day because you’ll be out representing your MP in the community. One day you could be building relationships with business owners or visiting the local schools. The next, you might be giving advice or having a chat with the people of your electorate….. $68,698 to $95,183 per annum.

  5. Labour might lose from slipping on a banana skin, metaphorically.

Do they think the main idea through even, much less the pesky side issues from their POV?

  6. What do we think of this? Perhaps some of our people would like to change places and work as slaves in China instead of being penned up in motels here in NZ? We are probably approaching the ‘well it couldn’t be worse’ point in thinking.
