National have helicoptered in Tama Potaka (their diversity candidate) who appears to fit in well with the ethos of National. Potaka said he doesn’t live in Hamilton, but he and his wife have a house in Hamilton East and Hamilton West and apparently, she is from the Waikato (another brownie point) Potaka talked negatively about Three waters and co governance how odd when Auckland is draining most of their water supply from the Waikato River and National were instrumental in setting up co-governance with Tainui. Potaka then espouses the virtues of individualism, making good choices and having a good leader all good for some who have had highly paid jobs enabling them to set themselves up financially in good prosperous times. But we have had a pandemic, war is raging, and western countries are more divided than ever with the haves and have nots. We need stability and continuity not a new government who will make more radical changes largely in favor of the rich.
