  1. The country is so badly run under this efficiency-dedicated business-oriented government!!!!!!
    and more !!!!!

So many Wellington rail staff are falling sick from seasonal illnesses that the capital’s commuter trains are being cancelled at a high rate.
Eighty services were cancelled in the last two weeks, most on the Melling line out to Lower Hutt.

Metlink said it was forewarning passengers as soon as it could, though it acknowledged bus replacements could be “confusing” for them.
“We will develop a longer term plan if absences appear likely to continue, but if this is a short-term sickness issue we will continue to manage it on the day,” Metlink general manager Samantha Gain said in a statement.

… InterCity is suspending its service from Nelson to Queenstown along the West Coast from the end of October as government funding used to keep it running through Covid comes to an end.
With not enough tourists yet in the country the bus company says it can’t afford to run a “loss making” service.

  2. Of peripheral interest to many no doubt.
    https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/477582/former-national-party-president-michelle-boag-named-in-connection-to-high-profile-trial
…Boag was named during the trial of a prominent businessman who was convicted and jailed after indecently assaulting three men and attempting to bribe one of them to drop his complaint.
Stuff reported the businessman told jurors at the trial he wanted to engage Boag because she had been recommended as someone who was “very good at solving public relations problems”…

(Suggestion – give all the tourists with money to spend and latent disease to spread, the run of the town and citizens report in sick and stay home where you can. The whole city. It would be hard because so many NZ citizens of working age are living on the breadline whether they are in paid work or not. But to have to welcome plague ships! It is hyperbole I know, exaggeration, but NZ people are sacrificed in this cancerous economy, where poverty and good business is infected by lust for money and competition from overseas megabusinesses.)

(There seems to be confusion between the 5 day and seven day isolation period. Is this important? I think that Oz has introduced 5 day.)
