Analysing Wayne Brown’s first week – why Auckland should be very very very worried

Worst menage trois ever.

Put aside my criticism that the private company running local elections for the cheapest cost possible is a terrible way to elect people and let’s instead focus on the Boomer Kings first week in power because it is the harbinger of a terrible war about to be waged on the City of Auckland.

Pundits in the know knew Hooton and Ben Thomas were the brains trust behind Wayne, this has just been made public via a leak…

Leaked Auckland Council document reveals first insight into mayor Wayne Brown’s inner circle

An Auckland Council document leaked to Stuff has revealed the first insight into new mayor Wayne Brown’s inner circle.

Stuff has obtained a staff directory from the council’s internal internet system – revealing what appear to be the key appointments in the mayoral office.

It includes Brown appointing the man who shaped his winning campaign to a big role and a well-known political figure as a top offsider.

…here is what the revolution that Hooton and Thomas are part of the inn er sanctum tells us.

That Auckland should be shitting itself.

They have already crafted the grumpy Boomer King persona, Wayne is lashing out at Journalists, boasting to them that his $300 000 wage is low, that he doesn’t have to to tell Journalists how he spends his time and has called endlessly for the sacking of everyone while warning Aucklanders there is a terrible crisis coming.

Why?

Because we are being softened up for the largest ever privatisation agenda this City has ever seen.

There is a closed circle of right wing interests who combine to form a clique that is focused on corporate control of politics.

The inclusion of players with the deep corporate right wing contacts that Hooton and his purse Ben Thomas have is a flashing red light to where they intend to take Wayne’s mayoralty.

SPOT THE DIFFERENCE: Smithers never melted down the reactor the way Hooton did with Muller’s leadership challenge

For a Mayor with barely 15% support in a city of 1.2million, we are about to see an orgy of privatisation with an enormous amount of Chinese Business interests involved.

Aucklanders are about to get a sharp lesson on just how important civic duty is.

Wayne is going to make Mr Burns look generous.

  1. Banging on using the Trump mantra of the election was stolen is as pointless here as it is in the US. Obviously if Efeso won with 12%, all would be justified in the vote and no such claims would be heard. But when people can’t be bothered voting, they get what the deserve. It ain’t difficult!

Goff was not shy about flogging off public assets. Didn’t Eke Panuku gift the slipways and waterfront in Beaumont St to some overseas investment company on a 100 year lease for a handful of magic beans? Parks have been sold off. Nothing was said about that!

But if in all this capitalist energy he makes cycleways user pays, then I am over there moon!

    • And the same could be said Xray about those that did bother to vote, you get what you voted for. However, many of those that did bother to vote also voted for what is best for them not the majority and some appear to have a vested interest.

    • Can I just jump in here and write while on the subject of wonderful Auckland and its beautiful people;

Why is the Salvation Army being quoted on this abhorrence? Any comments should be coming from an aghast politic clamouring and climbing over each other to see what the fuck’s going on with society. Why the fuck is a non publicly funded God bothering institution anywhere near this? It says it’s more than a spot or poverty-normalising rich-fuck propaganda to me. Four banks, now foreign owned, namely the ANZ, ASB, BNZ and Westpac literally remove more than 6 billion dollars in net profits annually from AO/NZ’s impoverished and we have now nine multi billionaires sucking on us like greedy fucking ticks and the only people interested in dire public consequences of that is reportedly the fucking Salvation Army! What. The. Fuck?
Politicians ! You have our money! Where the fuck are you on this? A spot of faux hand wringing while sucking on the Top Shelf down at Bellamy’s ? I bet you are, you bastards.

    • “Obviously if Efeso won with 12%, all would be justified”.. Is your attention span so limited as to not be able to concentrate all the way through an article? If you had read it with both eyes open, you would have read that regardless who actualy won, the system was rotten, and completely open to corruption… I so tire of the self serving drivel that passes for “intelligent debate” in this country.. More like a bunch of adolescents having a screaming match than anything useful.. But then, that’s never been a concern of the advocates of NZ’s colonial power structure, as long as they don’t have to make any concessions whatsoever towards reconciliation, who cares who gets hurt, as long as it ain’t “our people”.. Your bigotry, and stupidity has been noted.. Carry on with it…

  2. The left are freaking out over Brown. Good. The last 3 terms have seen out of control spending for little or no gain – the antithesis of the argument for the supercity in the first place. This is all on Labour and their last 2 candidates.

Our rate payers have had to fund left wing wet dreams managed by zealots for the last decade or so. The trough isn’t going to be filled up no more and the fat pigs are upset. Doubly good.

    • Yes he’s one scary immoral shit that bloke.
Talk about the dark web, he and that bitch who gave out health information the Nats have got immoral behavior well ingrained.
Unfy NZ Herald and Stuff have both been seduced by them and their kind.
Just have to see a list of their “opinion” writers and the senior “reporters” to know that.
But hey they say you get the government you deserve.
We will probably get right wing fascist government because we don’t want to admit labour was hamstrung by NZ First and Covid and could not make the progress they wished. They will not get a fair shake as the money is controlling the media. Just look at the response to the farm emission pricing scheme.
Well orchestrated and ready to go before the announcement. Probably using information provided by those from the AG groups allegedly helping to develop the proposal

    • I wouldnt go as far as calling Hooton a prince of any kind more like another pig feeing from the trough and then we have Ben Thomas he seems to be like a silent assassin appearing to be all nice as pie on TV talkbacks but really underneath that thick veneer he’s a true blue right wing c…t on the payroll

  3. Be a classic if the first privatasation was Watercare. That would scupper 3 waters.

Ardern and Mahuta said that the councils retain ownership of the entities so no doubt can sell them.

“Councils will continue to own their assets under the new model that I’m proposing, alongside other councils in that entity. They can leverage those assets in order to provide greater investment in water infrastructure within that entity.”

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2021/10/the-reason-jacinda-ardern-nanaia-mahuta-think-three-waters-will-be-a-success.html

Leveraging the asset can entail selling. Popcorn time.

    • Is that because National refused to make it over 75% agreement in the House for a water asset entity to be sold off?

  4. Well, that’s exactly what Goff and co have done!
They’ve contracted out the $30b of AT work to offshore multinationals and starved the local industry of work!
So is it better to keep as much of the cash locally or just offshore it as fast as you can?
    Keep your cabal local.

  5. Brown is where he is because the left failed. The new Mayor of Dunedin is because the left failed. Heck even Wellington went full woke because the left was to wishy washy.
Maybe the issue is not that the right does what they say they will do, maybe the issue is that the left does not do what it promises but rather does a whole lot of things they never campaigned on and that the people – he tangata does not want.
The left – the professional left – has until next year to live up to their ‘image’. I doubt they will. Because in the end, offering a few thousand dollars to some rich dudes is easier then fixing and providing proper public transport, warehousing people in rundown motels up and down the country is easier then building houses, creating a new ‘healthcare’ entity is easier then training and retraining nurses and doctors, ditto for the teachers, etc etc etc.
No one is worried about the new Mayor of Auckland other then the desperate left that can’t admit that their people failed, continue to fail. The new Mayor of Auckland, as the new Mayor of Rotorua, or Dunedin will all do what they think is best, and considering the actions of their predecessors until Saturday last week, fear of them doing worse is not gonna cut it with the people that actually care enough to get out and go through the hardship that is voting in NZ.

    • Never thought I’d agree with you on anything Tane but on this we’re hand in hand. And as for mr bullsh*ter.

  6. Some people will care that assets will be leveraged so a mayor can sell them overseas to pay off the leverage. Unfortunately most people just know they cant avoid rates and waterbill whoever sends them. However if they have less road cones and judder bars to deal with (remember there are a million car drivers and only 10 cyclists) they will feel less like they are being visibly taken to the cleaners.

  7. And in other news, the very young, very woke new mayor of Wellington is on sick leave. I guess re-decorating the office had them tired. lol

  8. the problem with auckland is auckland..it aspires to be an australian city whereas it’s a decent sized town…it doesn’t need and cannot sustain mega-city delusions.

  9. Dare this else where, MAYOR,its egit looking unlike most not flash jist my his knowing, sucked yous all,his intelect of manipulation of yous, his farm fence history and party.
