Uh huh! They’ve dug down and found some dirt. Dirty rats. They should know their place, which is not here embarrassing us with facts. ‘The truth; we don’t want to know the truth. B….er off! (I understand that one of the commenters here was banned from another site for putting up a swear word with dots forming its body. The word is in the head of the beholder. Says something about NZ heads?)

  2. No request for masks, even if not mandatory. One would think that Labour would continue with them. The wave of virus is not over. I would like Labour and Health Dept. to make some effort to assist people who want to be good citizens and keep infections as los as possible, protecting al in the community as well as the old and disabled who seem most affected at present. But Labour wants to be true to their kaupapa, what is best for we the pollies, who want to be hand in hand with Bu$yne$$ and self-centred hedonists.

I think the coarse and raw levels of our civilisation and priorities show up in this sort of debate. We are quite ready to do away with our past efforts and our fine understandings and intelligence and accumulated experiences and skills in favour of stadia where the musclepower fight it out. With not too much blood as yet but NZ will degenerate further no matter what the nation is called. It’s the inner soul that makes the outside look good, and ours is shop-soiled, we got it made for a good price overseas!

WTF – On and on we go, playing at running a nation as if it was some training project set up by a tertiary institution to get practice in.

This stuff should be thoroughly modelled on computers and able to be accessed by citizen groups round the country. Politicians now regard themselves as managers, so they should not make any changes, and it is activists who should decide what is to be done and decisions made by vote of people who take a real caring interest in the country, gained appropriate diplomas, and have studied all aspects from a citizen POV.

The trouble with leaving it to an elite group and an elected one swayed by popularity contests, is that they get captured by ideas of noteworthy achievements., and big budgets, and borrowing capacity. While really good results are often not showy, but just sound and well budgeted.
