  1. Yes. Him again!

You have to wonder. Where is Paul Majurey is getting finance from for the $850m-$1b of Housing Developments?
He can’t be using any of the Hauraki iwi assets in the Treaty Settlements that he negotiates, as those settlements are still not signed off by Parliament.
He can’t leverage or use as collateral for finance can he?
Those outstanding Treaty Settlements are valued we’ll over $500m but, probably more.
Where is the money coming from to fund his share of the Ockham Marutuahu partnership?

  2. NZ cares very much about what it looks at this very moment, but if it takes on one more interest however, it must drop a past interest. Caring about children, running a country with suitable high standards of safety where there is high risk, that seems to be a concept that has been dropped.

,,,JTK Trustee Limited (trading as Fun Solutions) allowed its mammoth slide to become overloaded and collapse at the Whangamatā Summer Festival in December 2020.
The incident sent a dozen people, most of whom were children, falling from heights of up to 12 metres. One victim broke both his ankles and has required 11 surgeries, and is still at home recovering.

JTK Trustee Limited has today been sentenced in the Waihi District Court for its failures…
Expert reports found the slide was electrically unsafe, had air leaks via holes and seams, and poor anchoring…
WorkSafe has had 11 prior interactions with JTK. In 2015, a mammoth slide became overloaded and collapsed – injuring six children at the Masterton A&P show. The director Eric Gerritsen was fined $115,000 for obstructing WorkSafe’s investigation.

In 2016, a JTK slide collapsed at an event in Hamilton Gardens and 10 children fell about 10 metres. In response, WorkSafe issued a directive letter, and Hamilton City Council later banned the company from operating at the site…

Reasonable safety standards, controls and inspections, and huge fines plus shutting down of errant business interests would show some responsibility. But no the ‘r’ word is out of fashion. Fines are in because our government loves money, and so it ‘pays’ them to keep things going when businesses have failed and been fined. If it happens again, then more money will, must be paid over, virtually a bribe to stay in business.
However that isn’t even managed efficiently. In August 2022, the firm has been found guilty of a traumatic event in December 2020 – 20 months ago.

This is a perverse way of running a country that struts like a … – whatever comes to your mind. Our various governments are ruining our standing in the world and making the place unlivable or unsafe for we the people. I think they need booting out; trying to get them to do a better job is proving hopeless and they spend their time playing at who is going to advance the latest fashion of high society amongst the wealthy, and entitled. That is nothing to do with providing an effective government for the people and is giving the whole structure such a bad name that hotheads are thinking to ‘storm the Bastille’ or turn into another Peterloo.*

The Peterloo Massacre took place at St Peter’s Field, Manchester, Lancashire, England, on Monday 16 August 1819. Fifteen people died when cavalry charged into a crowd of around 60,000 people who had gathered to demand the reform of parliamentary representation.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peterloo_Massacre

  3. RIP to this poor man trying to maintain life against the warlike, scientific, curious and capitalist men.
    https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/world/473753/last-member-of-his-tribe-dies-in-brazil-after-26-years-of-isolation
The man was the last of an indigenous group living in the Tanaru indigenous area in the state of Rondônia, which borders Bolivia.
The majority of his tribe are believed to have been killed as early as the 1970s by ranchers wanting to expand their land…
In 1995, six of the remaining members of his tribe were killed in an attack by illegal miners, making him the sole survivor…
There were no signs of any incursions in his territory and nothing in his hut had been disturbed, officials said. A post-mortem will be carried out to try to determine whether he had contracted a disease.
As he had avoided any contact with outsiders, it is not known what language the man spoke or which ethnic group he may have belonged to…

In 2009, a Funai (Brazil’s Indigenous Affairs Agency (Funai)) post in the area was damaged and cartridge shells were left behind in what was considered a threat to the Man of the Hole and the Funai agents protecting him.
The restriction order has to be renewed every few years and in order for it to be approved, the presence of members of an indigenous group on the land in question has to be documented…
There are about 240 indigenous tribes in Brazil, with many under threat as illegal miners, loggers and farmers encroach onto their territory, warns Survival International, a pressure group fighting for the rights of indigenous people.
The risks facing Brazil’s indigenous people were highlighted recently when activist Txai Suruí received death threats after she gave a passionate speech at the opening ceremony of the COP26 global climate summit in Glasgow.

Maori here had the same pressure on them to prove that they were using their land. There is a term about keeping the *home fires burning to show the place is occupied is still regarded as ‘home’. The colonial government hounded some tribes to come to Court and establish their right to their own land often having to make long and costly journeys to do so. Aboriginal Australians know about this also.

*ahi ka – Te Aka Māori Dictionary
    https://maoridictionary.co.nz › search › keywords=ahi+ka
(noun) burning fires of occupation, continuous occupation – title to land through occupation by a group, generally over a long period of time.

  4. So the deal with the 240 NZ soldiers who have been sent to the ‘UK’ to train Ukrainians and volunteer-mercenary to fight in the Ukraine are all on ‘leave’ and are fighting/training Ukrainians and volunteer-mercenary soldiers in the Ukraine! Thats why the NZ Military ‘cant’ locate 94 for of them so far! FFS!

  5. https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/473783/plan-to-charge-gst-on-kiwisaver-fees-a-wealth-tax-fund-manager
Can’t we have a very small FTT please. Even if we find we have got some megalomaniacs money passing through our hands what do we care. UK has quite a tonne of Russian money, does it stop them from doing anything they want – No.
Screwing NZ savings is just mean. How much for breathing – say in Christchurch?
And paying 15% on everything and then being screwed for more to keep this ramshackle country-economy going. Make ya larf.
