U.S. to send 15th military package to Ukraine, bringing total aid in Russia war to $7 billion

    • Biden is set to announce a new security assistance package worth $400 million for Ukraine on Friday.
    • The latest aid package, which is the 15th such installment, brings the U.S. commitment to more than $7 billion since Russia’s late February invasion of Ukraine.

I’ve never been a fan of Putin.

I’m not a Lefty who looks up to or admires him.

I think he is a thug who has used appalling authoritarian tactics to hold onto power.

That’s not to say I don’t agree with his criticism of the West and the abomination that is the US Military Industrial Complex.

I’m not fan of Washington or Moscow.

I argued that Putin would invade the Ukraine because of the attempted coup in Kazakhstan in January and that his view of NATO expansion had become an existential threat.

The West should have ensured Russia’s collective sense of national security was respected.

Putin’s bluff means he has to double down on the war in Ukraine…

Russia-Ukraine war: Vladimir Putin believes ‘doubling down’ will improve conflict outcome, US Central Intelligence Agency says

US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) director William Burns said on Saturday that Russian President Vladimir Putin believes doubling down on the military conflict in Ukraine will improve the outcome of the war.

…Putin’s desperation of course is now being purposely manipulated by the West…

Behind Austin’s Call for a ‘Weakened’ Russia, Hints of a Shift

When Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin III declared Monday at the end of a stealth visit to Ukraine that America’s goal is to see Russia so “weakened” that it would no longer have the power to invade a neighboring state, he was acknowledging a transformation of the conflict, from a battle over control of Ukraine to one that pits Washington more directly against Moscow.

…protecting innocent Ukrainians from invading Russians is now secondary to a wider American goal of significantly weakening Russia.

Those are two very different goals.

This $7Billion in military weapons is within a vast budget of $54Billion in aid to the Ukraine…

Four Ways to Understand the $54 Billion in U.S. Spending on Ukraine

The more than $40 billion in additional aid to Ukraine approved by Congress on Thursday brings the total U.S. commitment during the Russian invasion to roughly $54 billion, when combined with the aid package passed in March.

…$54 Billion and a new military aim to weaken Russia.

This stopped being about saving innocent Ukrainian lives sometime ago. This is now about making the American Corporate Military Gods of War rich.

  1. Isn’t it interesting that none of the WEF luvvies such as Macron, Trudeau or “Our Glorious Leader” are seeking peace or de-escalation……..I wonder why?

  2. Interesting times. The USA is using the lives of Ukrainian citizens to weaken/destroy Russia. Meanwhile China continues its economic conquest using its wealth to gain control of the remaining resources of the world. A relative pittance to the island nations results in huge areas of the Pacific under its control.
The elephants dance. It doesn’t matter which one we hide behind.

    • So the west are sending missiles into apartment buildings in Ukraine – Putin head of a super power is a cowardly bully invading a weaker nation.

  3. Jeez whizz, who would have thought that the country that does nothing else but export war and weapons makes money on war and weapons. In other news, water is wet.

  4. bbbbutttt russia has no tanks, the ones they do have are shit and the ukrainians are at the gates of moscow….say TDB military experts

fact is every stockpiled weapon sent free to the ukraine will need a shiny new and more expensive replacement to go into western stockpiles…3 guesses who’ll be paying for that?

  5. Of course there are absolutely no Russian weapons manufactures making a killing (out of killing). Do you seriously think Russian tycoons just do oil and vodka?

All this shite about proxy wars only somehow involving the US or NATO. I can assure you they weren’t Vietnamese manufactured SAM’s shooting down B52’s over Hanoi.

  6. Ron Mark is the only current or x MP that has been on the ground in Ukraine and understands what China us up to and how we need to be proactive. We need NZ First back in Parliament to have Ron as Minister of Defense.

    • Sorry not going to happen anytime soon, when Jonesy is in NZF & Winnie has gone down the Covid19 rabbit hole of late.

Got to find a new place for my list vote now? It wouldn’t be the bloody Greens nor the NACT or any other RW cock sucking Party either.

  7. Well dah! Afghanistan!! Couldn’t do it there soooo … Ukraine was the next proxy war sucker on their list.

The US are cowards! Going all in against Russia or China or both. They know they’ll lose because all of their supercomputer war game scenario’s have said so.

  8. Doubling down is a US specialty typical of deep pocket gamblers.
They build weapons for business and business is good. All NATO allies are captive clients for their subscription $200 screwdrivers and other toys.
The fraud lines pockets but can’t stop Afghani partisans. Simple fact, they’ve zero chance against anything resembling a real military.

Russians are engineers when it comes to survival.
They build weapons to kill effectively and excel at it. They don’t bluff as that leaves too much to chance.

Any half informed person would know there are three wars playing out in Ukraine in this high stakes, winner take all, escalating conflict.
Once that sinks in there’s no option but to accept it’s already over. No ifs no buts.
Could be a great idea to listen or read what they’re saying about all this, you know, just for a balanced view of the propaganda, before you go spouting CIA & State Dept. dick head dribble.

Just to help contain the inevitable disappointment.

  9. Why is the US a war mongering country? Profit margins for the military complex.
If you cant find a decent reason to go to war, invent it.
