I’m sorry, what?

Paula Bennett: ‘Collateral damage’ – I had trauma to work through after politics

Oh, Paula had trauma to work through after politics did she?

You know who else had trauma to work through after Paula left politics?

The thousands of State Tenants her government forced from State Houses using lies about Meth contamination that fuelled a homelessness crisis while her Government were quietly privatising state housing!

I don’t give 5 shits about Paula’s fucking ‘trauma’! This is what happens when identity politics trumps class, every white female middle manager can claim victimhood and their actions utterly ignored.

I don’t care about Paula’s ‘trauma’, I care about the damage she caused thousands and thousands of the poorest families using fake science and a moral panic to ensure there was no sympathy for state tenants at a time her Government were selling State Houses!

How dare she have the audacity to treat her column as a group therapy session where she gets to play the victim! The irreparable damage she caused the poorest amongst us during her reign of terror is a wound the poorest amongst us never recovered from!

  1. Taupo party girl strikes again…I understand her role within the real estate industry is at risk due to her lack of skills…hence her ‘woe is me’ article

  2. “Pull’yer Benefit” needs to have her nose rubbed in all her toxic actions as some form of redress at least to all that suffered under her reign.

So incompetent when she started that she was mentored by arch neo lib Paula Rebstock, including being sent to the US for six weeks, including notorious Wisconsin, to see how they waged war on the poor there.

    • Mrs Bennett defamed two beneficiaries who wanted the student assistance ladder puller Paula had her self received. She dodged for years but eventually coughed up an out of court settlement after the two women had been well pummelled in public by the media and kiwi arseholes online.

    • The afore mentioned P scandal and victimisations that saw a whole mini meth industry arise for a while until scientifically debunked.

    • During the denied housing crisis under Natzos, Te Puea Marae starting feeding and housing homeless people–instead of praise, Bennett (via “her office”) defamed and personally attacked the Marae CEO, then a serving senior Police officer. It was Bennett, but she gutlessly blamed staff.

    • When her own shady past as a beneficiary, working and owning a house, while a party girl in Taupo came up in conjunction with accusations of hypocrisy, she lawered up and silenced some of her previous good time friends.

She is a nasty and malevolent type, in no need of sympathy for years of being a highly paid, dirty filthy tory MP.

    • +1
…….” with no morals”….. no humility. an inflated sense of their capabilities and egos the size of a bus….”

Fuk ’em and all who sail in ’em.
The good thing is that they’ve put themselves out there to be ridiculed, so claiming victimhood will probably get them in the end.
      pfffft next

  3. Why has the Herald become a therapy session for Paula? The irony of it all.

Clearly she has this picture of herself that is wildly at odds with reality!

    • When Bennett, Joyce, Hosking,Prebble are employed by The Herald we know there is a particular political slant. In other words The Herald is not neutral and is supported by their major donors.
During her time, Bennett traumatized 10’s of thousands of kiwis and we’re still suffering because of her, just as many still suffer from the mother of all budgets.

And people think National winning the next election is going to be the great elixir?

      • National are as awful as they’ve ever been, possibly worse because they look particularly talentless. And led by a man devoid of a personality. So I fully agree.

Mores the pity that this vintage of Labour who had so many opportunities like a full majority have squandered their time and have proven to be a waste of electoral space.

      • Oh so well said, my thoughts exactly every time I see these prime articles I cringe. The same as du plessis allen aka Mrs Barry Soper. I note with glee that Miss Bennett did not get many comments from The Herald sycophants. As usual she is on the bandwagon of other female politicians doing it hard in this awful misogynistic environment

      • Bert
Oh yes, elixir it will be. After 6 years of sly, underhand, dishonest and underperforming Labour bullshit, it sure will. 6 years of precious time and mandate wasted. 6 years buried in consultations, reports, working groups and PR spin. 6 years of billions wasted without concrete results. Suppose you didn’t read John Minto’s article on state housing – too painful is it? Makes your darling Saint look bad does it? Bert, it’s inevitable. Get ready for the elixir.

      • With those types writing for the herald, thank christ I don’t buy it or see it. Janet Wilson’s and John Bishop’s fantasies are at least something to laugh at, if I could be arsed reading them.

  4. What’s she doing now?

Setting up a run at the mayoral chains for Auckland?

    Btw her & Bridges!!

Labours candidate v either one of these two.

Now there’s a major upset in the making. All we need now is a horse to bolt through the middle.

The crazy ex jockey could be a good bet?!

  5. Everything was about Paula’s advancement. She was professionally shaped and handled by someone, hair, clothes, manner and when she got taken from her desired trajectory it would definitely have been traumatic for her. But that’s just one foot soldier down there are heaps more in the way to the desired trajectory of good and practical NZs.

We care about politicians and their aides, who want the country to be managed so we can all be busy, housed people who get things done by government when they can show their value. And we want people doing diverse positive stuff that keeps the country floating, working practically to deal with problems, and people happy and with a reasonable standard of living with help for those at the basic level to their wished for level, opportunities for useful work at all levels, respect and a low crime rate. I don’t think Paula had these in mind to work on for advancement; her priority was her own upward mobility. She should do well in NZ current climate. If not she hasn’t sucked up to the right people. We all need to remember Bob Dylan and ‘Gotta Serve Somebody”,
You may be an ambassador to England or France
You may like to gamble, you might like to dance
You may be the heavyweight champion of the world
You may be a socialite with a long string of pearls

But you’re gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You’re gonna have to serve somebody
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody

  6. F**k Paula and getting profound about her – there’s zilch to get profound about. What she did to Hurimoana Dennis at Te Puea Marae was simple f jealousy because he was showing her how to do something which she seemed to be no good at : How to house and feed the homeless and help them into jobs. Instead of thanking him, as one should, she tried to shaft him.

Playing the victim is the tedious global currency, but it’s on the way out now, as is she, and jolly good show. She can always try frying green tomatoes at the Whistle Stop cafe, or modelling mail order shoes from China, teach grandmothers how to suck eggs. There’ll be some other dubious endeavour for her to fail at and start another whine-fest over. Poor thing.

    • “What she did to Hurimoana Dennis at Te Puea Marae was simple f jealousy because he was showing her how to do something which she seemed to be no good at”, you got Paulas entire political career with this example.

      • standalone complex. Yes, this left an indelible imprint upon me, a patently good man doing a good job triggered antagonism, that’s sick. Bill English’s blithely writing off all our young guys as useless druggies and layabouts is another unforgivable Nat dynamic.

    • Yes this ‘playing the victim’ is all the rage now. That’s not to say it isn’t appropriate at all, but it seems that middle class females have drunk some kool aid and it’s brought on a bad rash of the ‘victim’ and ‘queen goddess’ mentality. A bit like queenie in Blackadder who would say ;’Off with his head’ in great glee if she was even slightly displeased..

Middle class women have been inoculated with some ingredient that tells their brain they are always right. Oy seems there is a belief that middle-class women are somehow more intelligent, altruistic and caring, while being more practical and knowing than everybody else. Follow what they say is ‘best practice’ and if you don’t fit their social expectations you are a non-starter in the human respect and likeability stakes. Males take a different route to superiority-over-all.

      • Greywarbler Interesting to see Bennett described as middle class, I thought her lacking in class. Part of the Nat’s problem may be that they attract aspiring wannabes without much to offer, and only interested in trying to elevate themselves.

        • The more I think of Poorla the more I feel that I just slipped on a banana skin. I do think she is one wanting to elevate herself and I wish that they would all be hoist on their own petard as it applies to all of them no matter what class they came from. I reckon she was top of her class in meeting every requirement, and in face and body makeover. No wonder she is feeling a little let down, after being all puffed up by National amongst whom she would be a standout politician amongst the entitled lads who aren’t bright or ‘fly’ enough to follow in Graham Hart’s footsteps.

  7. I did not have the stomach to read the article so the rest of you have been brave to consider her views. The reviews confirm my suspicion that there is no merit in her complaint & that she is lucky not to be locked up for criminal conduct while she was in government.

  8. She speaks fluently in a language of self pity, narcissism, manipulation and projection. She like others recently seeks to rescue what is left of her reputation by either reinventing herself as a victim or more obscenely someone we should now trust as champion for social change. A true society however has memory so that it doesn’t repeat these mistakes of past.

        • I preempted your stalking response…

          “Bob gosh that’s silly”

“The definition is whatever the Right(Reich) define it to be whereas Labour are for free speech.

          Spot on.

              • Just to show you why, you haven’t even commented on the subject matter, just idiot comments..

“Bert you are having such a good time I have no wish to spoil your day.”

                “Spot onJK.”
                “Running with the herd.”
“Accurate description of the last 5 years.”
“Cognitive appears to be your new go to word.”
“Amazingly kind people on this site, not a hint of hate only kindness.”
“Gee whizz is any of the above hate speech?
                That should entice kind responses.”
“The definition is whatever the left define it to be whereas I’m for free speech.”
“Really Bert you would be better not to responded rather than expose your silliness.

Do you wish to comment on Paula Bennett or do you require cognitive remediation therapy?

                • Correct, you are tedious and as confirmed, nothing on Bennett, just a stalker. Haven’t you and Kraut got your baby’s nappies to change?
