  1. Was it HGWells War of the Worlds where everything seemed lost before the advance of the space invaders
and then the ,earth’s millions of bugs and bacteria put an end to them?
Well I am thinking we might find a similar war between most living creatures now and soon and ants of various kinds – they are ubiquitous, have been around since before the dinosaurs, are relentless like Argentenian Ants, have killed off penguins in Hawaii – yellow crazy ants, fire ants that have bites that burn.
    etc. https://www.mpi.govt.nz/biosecurity/pests-and-diseases-we-want-to-keep-out-of-new-zealand/horticultural-pests/red-imported-fire-ant/

In NZ they are hard to get rid of, have had bait taken out of option by authority because it can be harmful, thy3’ve killed off trees in NZ as they die from dessication and aphids, farmed. Actually they sound a bit like us, or are we a bit like them. It’s not good to have them swarming around though they do some good I’m sure, but in large numbers? – they breed faster than we do and having ants through your food and home is not pleasant.
Good stuff from NZ Geographic 2013.

Christchurch – Earthquakes (2+), mass event of deaths (2), trouble at mill sorry hospital, CEnvironment Canterbury defrocked and revamped. Trauma big time, disruption more than a human body can cope, and the medical and property authorities are taking away the primary birthing unit. It’s important that Christchurch Health Board don’t revert to a previous home-grown method where you give the Mother a hearty slap on the back and then get a hold of her and squeeze the baby out like toothpaste, I think it may be called the Heimlich maneouvre! This would deserve some very old-fashioned language to describe it.

We are Australian’s closest ally? I thought it was the usa? But perhaps it works upwards with us at the base.
Former Australian governor-general Sir Peter Cosgrove says he is “dismayed” at the revelation Australia’s closest ally, New Zealand, secretly investigated torture allegations against soldiers under his command in East Timor in 1999.
