For those who say I am being too critical of the Government’s ‘wellbeing budget’…

I’m not underplaying the decade of malfeasance by a cruel National party who adopted spiteful social policy & counter productive underfunding for Key’s pump & dump economic legacy, BUT BECAUSE of that lost decade, Labour should have had a bloody plan when we won.

This window dressing budget with its pretence of ‘transformation’ does bugger all to rebuild from that lost decade.

Tribalism aside – if you look at the fine print, the budget was NOT transformational and it makes the politics of kindness seem like a sick joke.

We are merely papering over the weeping wounds of our neoliberal cut throat competitive culture, we are not solving any root issues.

  1. Yes Martyn you are completely correct about Labour not being ready with all the different plans required to fight our way back from inequality and all the neo lib setups running our country (and most of the whole planet )as you well know. But I think that even if it is possible to undo the whole steaming pile, it’s going to take a long, long time. All the Torries out there (right around the globe) will undo, stall and impede every single change away from the status quo. Look at simple Simon, what a turd, he will undo any good bits if elected, we all know this. Is it any wonder progress is glacial?
