Not really.

Not really.

Not really.

Umm, yes. Yes it is.

With his climate denial, Leighton Smith is a far bigger threat than terrorism, political correctness and the UN combined

  1. What a dickhead! Surely nobody takes him seriously?

Sad that climate change and environmental destruction is now so prevalent by governments allowing industry to do that, that the current talk fests and inaction on any international trade agreements or RMA in NZ and are really shown for what they are. Hot air and duping the public!

  2. Irresponsible idiots are not hard to find.

The threat of “Terrorism” is fabricated nonsense and a threat to peace and used as a smoke screen for dire crimes such as hate speech against others, propaganda leading to sanctions or invasion.

  3. He is Right on the Money, Global Warming is complete B.S. the U.N. is a threat to US, climate change is a fact and the trend is down, i remind you all that cold kills far more people than heat, the electric grid is unreliable at best in heavy snow and we have had 2 mild frosts already in the deep south.
, its only the 8th of Feb.
The suns at the bottom of solar cycle 25, sunspots are at an all time low, enjoy the weather while it lasts, stock up on food and wood, Winter is coming.
“When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives”

  4. He’s no threat Martyn, he’s just announcing his own irrelevance.
The only people nodding their heads are a dwindling pool of (increasingly rich)surly old white dinosaurs who want to farm/run their business how they damn like.
The world is becoming less tolerant of them.

  5. After that he should automatically be fired from his job in media and never hired again as he has just proven that he’s a) a liar and b) a threat to our nation and the world.

  6. It is interesting that all these people – who are predominantly older while males – all have the same collection of different conspiracy themes including climate change and the United Nations.

You would think perhaps they might deny climate change but other than that have different opinions to each other on other stuff but no, they share exactly the same collection of opinions on a wide raft of things

  7. Given the glaringly obvious severe climatic changes occurring throughout the world today under our watch, Leighton Smith’s denials of the facts, only go to prove his ignorance and how totally wrong, wrong, wrong he is!

Shut up and go away please Mr Smith!

    • So Ian Clark attributes warming to the sun and sun cycles.

Roy Spencer – “We’re warming than we’ve been in probably a few centuries, and I think some of that warmth is due to the CO2 we’re producing, but the warming is not nearly as fast as what has been predicted. I think about half of it’s natural, and from a policy standpoint there’s really nothing we could do about the human caused portion of it anyway,”

Willie Soon – “The evidence in my paper is consistent with the hypothesis that the Sun causes climatic change in the Arctic […] It invalidates the hypothesis that CO2 is a major cause of observed climate change – and raises serious questions about the wisdom of imposing cap-and-trade or other policies that would cripple energy production and economic activity, in the name of ‘preventing catastrophic climate change’.”

Fred Singer – basically the models are wrong and it’s just natural cycles
“The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has to provide proof for significant human-caused climate change; yet their climate models have never been validated and are rapidly diverging from actual observations. The real threat to humanity comes not from any (trivial) greenhouse warming but from cooling periods creating food shortages and famines.”

“Climate change has been going on for millions of years – long before humans existed on this planet. Obviously, the causes were all of natural origin and not anthropogenic. There is no reason to think that these natural causes have suddenly stopped.”

Which one is right? They can’t all be right.

  8. Aren’t you posting this same comment over your Fake New’s speading limit? This is the 3rd time I’ve seen this exact same post. Keep it up & you’ll lose that licence you got out of that “Fruit loop box”…

  9. NZ Herald, you promoted Leighton Smith. Fox-newsy of you. But you have history (of undermining reality (in favour of the favoured)).

  10. Leyton Smith is correct. There is growing evidence that the previous 20 years of climate modelling were totally misguided because the catastrophic predictions simply haven’t eventuated.

Sea level isn’t rising any faster than it was pre-industrial revolution

Average global temperature has *dropped* 0.3C in the last three years.

Ice cover at the poles is normal

Both storm frequency and intensity have fallen since the IPCC predicted the opposite.

North America is experiencing its coldest winter on record.

How many times to we have to hear a politician claiming we have “only ten years left”. This has happened three times that I’ve noticed. Crying wolf only works so many times.
