This outbreak of male resentment now seems likely to play a defining role in the midterm elections just five weeks away, contrasting with a burst of enthusiasm among women propelling Democratic campaigns and inspired by the national #MeToo reckoning over sexual assault and gender roles.
Last election, the Democrats tried to win by screaming ‘racist’ at every Republican.
They didn’t appreciate that the neoliberal free market economic agenda they were running on alienated the white working class and decided it was Trump’s ugly race baiting that was the real draw card (despite many of those white working poor voting for Obama in the previous election).
Decrying everyone as racist surprisingly didn’t work.
This election Democrats have decided painting Kavanaugh as a pack raping angry drunk is the trick and calling anyone who thinks due process and the presumption of innocence matters as rape enablers is the magical strategy towards winning.
My fear is that by framing Kavanaugh as a pack rapist without any corroborating evidence, this will help Republicans at the mid term election, not hurt them. I wonder how the middle are viewing this and what do they fear most? Sexual assault or false accusation of sexual assault. I think the middle will fear false accusation more and vote accordingly when they are in the privacy and anonymity of the polling booth.
Democrats lost the last election by framing all Republicans as racist – let’s see how framing them all as Rapists works out.

It seems as if the Democrats from Russiagate onwards are prepared to do anything to get rid of Trump and to keep control of the judiciary. Not to mention the FBI and the CIA. I think there are things they have done that will send many of the most high profile individuals in the Dems, the FBI the CIA and the DOJ to jail forever if they loose control of these organisations, and they are hanging on by their fingernails.

That’s certainly how it looks from here. In my view, the timing of the accusations against Kavanaugh ought to be viewed as just the latest shot in the Dem war against Trump. I do not know who is telling the truth; nor does anyone else. But it doesn’t matter now: the damage to Kavanaugh has been done. Which was, of course, the purpose all along.
There is already a lot of checking going on on the validity of the claims by these women. Here’s an analysis of Ford’s allegations that the Washington Post got hold of, which casts serious doubt on her testimony:

In addition to the other info that has recently surfaced, an article from the site ImpiousDigest states that Christine’s father, Ralph G Blasey Jr. had worked for the CIA and was a vice president, at one time, for the National Savings and Trust “black budget bank” allegedly known for funding CIA deep state operations.

The problem with this line of thought is that you end up in the space where the CIA control everything, including the media and are running false flag operations on all terrorist operations in the USA since and including 9/11

Anderson Cooper from CNN did an internship at the CIA. I don’t think that this necessarily implies he is a CIA asset though
The thing is she was for a time a girlfriend of one of Kavanaugh’s friends, and knew the names of the other people at the house.
How does who her father was got anything to do with that? That is about as convincing as claiming someone should be found innocent because of their father’s connections.

They say that in a democracy, you get the government you deserve. If the American Empire is a declining power and Trump is the “last gasp” of a line of Democrat/Republican Emperors and his ‘base’ are dreaming of past glories… it all makes perfect sense.
Okay, let’s just ignore the fact that both the nominee for the Supreme Court and the President of the United States have both been accused by multiple women of sexual assault, because it is not an election winning strategy.

One of the worst outcomes I can see from all this is sexual assault victims once again being frightened back into silence where they have spent most of history so far.
I agree any conclusion-jumping is dangerous and counter-productive, but I’ve observed that most pundits are in fact calling for due process, indeed more due process than the mere week they were eventually awarded to investigate the claims.
In the meantime let’s remember there’s two issues at stake with Kavanaugh, with the more pressingly important one being does he pass muster for the highest judicial seat in their land? Even if hypothetically innocent, I submit that his partisanship and lack of emotional control should rule him out.
Innocent til proven guilty, yes. Entitled to Supreme Court seat unless proven guilty, no. Such entitlement is earned, and I see no evidence he’s done so.

No. They’re angry a woman dared to call one of them to account, but the worse part of all is that if he gets that job, women will be forced back behind closed doors in all matters pertaining to their rights and their own bodies. Sadly we don’t know how many more are in positions of this sort of power to control women.
If anyone needed a good reason why there still isn’t a woman as president, then they need look no further. The very character of the average American – both men and many women – see women as subhuman and open to exploitation.
And, in New Zealand, in so many cases, the jury is still out, even though we continue to laud our female Prime Ministers. The underbelly still lurks and attacks our women and girls’ rights.
I must say, it’s been very useful for NZ media to have trump to vilify politically; it lets our own New Zealanders off the hook – key ponytail pulling.
