It’s the media’s fault for covering the reclaiming of the C word fiasco…

Reporting on Marama’s speech ‘disgraceful’ – James Shaw

Green Party co-leader James Shaw has slammed a Newshub journalist for their reporting of Marama Davidson’s use of the word ‘c**t’ at an anti-racism rally.

Ms Davidson dropped the ‘C- bomb’ repeatedly an anti-racism rally attended by families and children earlier this month.

…note it’s not the Green’s fault for not having a media plan, no strategic forethought or plan of what to do when the media inevitably covered it.

Now some will claim the media misinterpreted Marama. And those people would be right, it’s like how could the Greens have anticipated that the media would take what their female co-leader has said and misinterpret it……..

…..oh wait, they did that exact thing to Metiria last year.

Some will claim that this focus on Marama ‘reclaiming’ the C word is just evidence of how sexist the media are, that they will focus on Marama using the word but not the death threat proceeding it, and that’s really valid too, hence the reason to ensure a media plan and basic political strategy in rolling that out would be required.

Yet there wasn’t.

There was no pre-thought other than woke outrage on Twitter for daring to be asked a question about it.

Unfortunate, Woke Twitter doesn’t win elections.

Green MP Julie Anne Genter cycles to hospital for an induction to ‘finally have this baby’

A second Ministerial baby is on the way – with Green MP Julie Anne Genter announcing she is cycling to hospital this morning where she will be put into induced labour.

Genter, who is Minister for Women as well as Associate Transport and Health Minister, posted the news on Instagram this morning.

Fittingly, Genter’s news was paired with several images of her standing beside her bike at the hospital, and another of her actually on the bike.

A caption posted with the images said it was a “beautiful Sunday morning for a bike ride, to the hospital, for an induction.”

  1. Cycled…. to give birth???????? Couldn’t she have taken a Nissan Leaf instead?

Cycling is a fairly high-risk venture on one’s health for no other reason than every other thing on the road puts you at risk no matter how law abiding the rider is and if that ain’t risky enough the primitive thing a bicycle makes it all the worse for self-initiated carnage.

I would hate to think of all the things that could have possibly gone wrong had she have come off!

Still, it is a Green MP we are talking about

    • no no ive heard of this, its a way desperate to deliver woman attempt to induce labor, no story here move along lol

  3. Cycled pregnant to visit my GP. Although it was first come, first served, all those waiting insisted I go in first. My waters trickling down my legs may have influenced them. GP told me to go to hospital. I resisted shopping at Woolworths and cycled home. Later was driven to hospital. Point of all this? Cycling is a way to keep fit and healthy – and have a quick labour.
