  1. New Zealand unions and their members appear to be cowards. Why do they all decide to go and take action, that is protests, industrial action and so forth, only once Labour are in government?

    Why did they wait for nine bloody long years, and did they not challenge the tories??

    I cannot believe it, they seem to be preferring the softer spot, a bit like bullies, scared of the bully that bullies them, and rather dishing it out to the weaker government, as the perceive it. So they seem to think they can push a Labour led government further.

    I am not against unions, I support unions, but unions and their members should stand up for their rights and conditions under ANY government, especially ones run by the tories.

    What is happening at present makes it look like the government is weak and facing great pressures, and many middle class voters will think, oh, we had more ‘stability’ during National’s rule. The MSM acts accordingly.

    So unions, do some thinking, do change your conduct in future, and do not just strike when the softer government (still a neolib one) is in power, thanks.
