Yes, Andrew Little and Jacinda intend to campaign together – that’s because Labour intend to win

The Corporate Media narrative is it’s odd that Andrew Little and Jacinda intend to campaign together for the 2017 election.

Duh!

Why the hell wouldn’t they?

Jacinda appeals directly to the generation who don’t vote  and she has built a huge social media presence. Andrew Little is not so shallow and needy that he has any problem sharing the lime light to reach out to electorates Labour have lost.

So yes.

Labour are playing this election to win.

As for the new mainstream media conspiracy that Jacinda will overtake Little in the popularity polls (alongside all the hypothetical questions of how that will weaken Little) – if anyone can seriously view Little’s staring down of a faction over Willie Jackson and Greg O’Connor’s candidacies and his surgical removal of Annette King and still think that Little doesn’t have the spine and strength to command Labour, I’d suggest they have dangerously underestimated the bloke.

Andrew Little wants to be the next Prime Minister, he has a passion for it and he is prepared to do everything possible to maximise Labour’s vote in September.

This is what wanting to win looks like,  the corporate media’s reading is hollow.

  1. My jaw dropped at the media speculation along “What if Jacinda starts polling higher than Andrew?” lines. These people are adults, and they are talking about contenders for government. They seem unable to see government as anything more than reality TV.

    • Are you talking about our news presenters, political commentators, news reporters and those wannabe ones we see on the screen every day, by any chance? Maybe you also add the ones like Pagani and so forth.

  2. Hahaha,… well said Mr Bradbury ,… they just dont get it.

Or was it that they spent too much time sliming up to , and supporting Key and see the current PM as a complete lemon ,… that they failed to notice the other bloke on the other side of the house had steel teeth.

  3. Yep, the corporate media. No such analysis of the ghastly Paula and Bill “we hate non baby boomers” duo!

  4. All fluff our MSM – the more people who see through it the better.
And as a general rule a government is voted OUT – not voted in.
National have come to the end of their run and they know it.
They will secretly shove through as much toxic laws as they can before they are gone, to happily live on tax payer money for the rest of their corrupt little lives. NZ will pay for their time in power.
I just want to know – where did all the money go?

    • agree with you Kim Dandy some ones needs to say where is all the money honey to pull the benefit and when she opens her fat trap they should say zip the lip sweetie

  5. The media are so predictable that
a 5 year old can work out what they’re are up to and how this is going to pan .
Prediction…The polls will miraculously start showing Jacinda Arden polling higher than Andrew Little as preferred Prime Minister .
Little will then be asked ad nauseam about whether that is a tenable situation and should he not step aside .
Their attempts to manipulate public opinion are nothing short of criminal.
I heard that idiot Garner today supposedly ‘reading’ out an email by god only knows who, saying the two biggest dicks in the world were Donald Trump and Andrew Little….. Little apparently , because he doesn’t want to lift the retirement age. He then went on to say “and you know what . I think this guy’s right. Andrew Little is a dick”.
The side kick thicko sports guy chimed in with something similar…like he would know.

And so the line in the sand has been drawn once again.
These guys need dealing to big time. They are fundamentally stupid,
    definitely ignorant and kinda pathetic.
They have got away with this kind of bullying in the past, but are now way out of their depth when taking on Andrew Little.
    They are on borrowed time….

  6. Its in the interest of the MSM and its main supporter the National party to use any tactic necessary to undermine Labour and the left in the eyes of the public and the polls will in my opinion reflect well on the more genial Jacinda but i agree Martyn i don’t think it will have a detrimental effect on Little if anything it will help the leadership team.

The old saying goes “behind every successful man is a ( talented) woman”

This was the spark needed to ignite the up coming election campaign that has already started.

Jacinda must use her profile with younger would be voters and bring them out with a reason to front up and vote for SOMETHING other than the criminals we have now and that Labour-Green can and will be different.

I started the year thinking that the election was a foregone conclusion but now there is a flicker of light……..at last.

  7. So does that mean bill and paula will also? A widened limo with a gumboot rack? What would their conversation be like? Between a narcissistic, sociopathic welfare recipient in denial and a deep south farmer?

    Bill.
    ” … ah? Sheep? ”
    Paula
” Aren’t they though? Makes our job easy?”

  8. I would need more proof that, apart from a Murdoch-type call of a Network like Fox, that the Corporate world have much input in the pronouncements of people like Duncan Garner. They may have fingered him as someone who would play ball, a safe pair of hands, but his various pronouncements are probably all his own.

My reading is that he is a bit over-excited about stepping into Paul Henry’s shoes and is reveling in the thought that his opinion might have an effect.

What is slightly more interesting is why he thinks it is appropriate or desirable to try to provoke an Ardern coup to overthrow Little.

There are plenty of juicy reasons (ie hoping to be seen to sink the Nats, and especially Bill English, thinks Ardern is the woman for the job) and quite a few trivial ones (ie likes the idea of some unthreatening person of his own generation as a major player,) but ultimately, he is still just buying into the established Little narrative and the new Ardern narrative.

There always is a narrative. Every successful politician gets a handle early in the piece, and they are stuck with it. They can add to it, but they can’t ever lose it completely.

A leader can be labeled Relaxed. He then Drone-kills thousands. So he becomes No-Drama but Deadly. He can be seen as a Fool. And later a Cunning-like-a-Fox Fool. For good or ill, Little has been branded Colourless and Uninteresting. Ardern has been branded Friendly and Telegenic. So why wouldn’t someone in the Entertainment business go after the latter over the former? It is piffle, but it is what passes for analysis, these days.

English, by the way, has been saddled with Policy-wonk and Tone Deaf.
He will be trying to add Efficient.

Little has already inserted Tough. I just hope he can somehow inject a bit of Inspirational. Or we will just have to rely on his Telegenic, Friendly side-kick to attract attention.

But don’t underestimate the value of a Jacinda Ardern.

You may want to get to people’s brains and ultimately their hearts (and votes) but, inevitably, you still have to go through their eyes and their ears. If a whole generation turns off because, narcissistically maybe, they demand to see themselves in the tableau, they will never hear your message, no matter how well intended.

Ardern has a chanced to make a big enough difference to matter.

  9. This marriage of convenience will not work. Jacinda has already upset the baby boomers, arguably the most likely group to turn out and vote. If I were National right now I would be fairly relaxed. The unknown quantity of of course Winston who may just hold more power than he actually deserves. As for Jacinda v David, the media will play that one for all its worth and them some.

  10. Ardern and Little campaigning as a team, indicates a light beginning to shine at the end of a very long and dark tunnel.

Prepare for a positive change of government next election folks 🙂 However before then, I’m picking msm will slavishly work for its scurrilous masters in National and go all out to discredit Little and a few other Labour MPs, possibly with Ardern being on the hit list as well, given her rising star status and likely influence on young Kiwi voters.

  11. Labour INTENDS to win! At last someone is saying it. Great that the softly-voiced but ironclad Andrew Little is out-maneuvering the Nats with speed and cunning. Not only does Labour intend to win, NZ NEEDS Labour/Greens to win.
