  1. Great debate. We can afford 26 m wasted on a flag but we can’t eliminate child poverty? Shame on us all in the 21st century in NZ a country, that produces food and is supposed to be a social democracy.

    Even if you were a die hard neoliberal, the amount of money saved by eliminating child poverty later on, will more than pay back the amount spent.

    The government loves to play off the middle class against the poor with the same small pot of money. (and opposition needs to stop falling into this trap). Of course when it comes to the corporate elite and 100m rich listers, the Natz spear no expense to make sure they receive generous corporate welfare and pay under the top tax rate.

    Forget about extra taxes, just try to get the a fair share of taxes from the above!
