Let’s get this clear. The NZ citizens being detained on Christmas Island are being held under anti-terror laws.

The Prisoners are not forewarned of their departure from Australia. A specially trained riot squad sneak into the cells at 3am and burst in, beating the prisoner and handcuffing them and renditioning them straight onto a plane for a 13 hour flight to Christmas Island.

The severity of the treatment being served out is due to the laws being used to deport these NZ citizens, not normal domestic incarceration  – they’re anti-terror laws! Laws and treatment green lighted for the worst and most dangerous terrorists are being exploited and used against civilians who have nothing more than a basic 1 year imprisonment crime. This just isn’t acceptable and John Key’s claim that the Opposition are ‘backing rapists’ when they raise legitimate questions is a disgrace.

John Key disgraced the position of Prime Minister, grossly offended many good hard working MPs, used gutter wedge politics, toyed with the anger and hurt of victims of violence and played to the worst angels of our nature

We are a better country than this.

    • The country is not John Key the bankster or any of the weak jawed overpaid MP’s.
The country could be better. Parliament doesn’t reflect us but those we allow to rule us.

      • I agree and to justify Christmas Island is like justifying Guantanamo for their trumped up terrorist BS to defend perpetual war and ongoing worldwide fear and disruption.
Check out – Nasa War Document – link below.

GOOD ON THOSE WHO WALKED OUT OF PARLIAMENT YESTERDAY AND TODAY ! ! !

It is beyond disgraceful that we and Australia have such unethical dim lights as PM’s and as you said, Mary, “parliament doesn’t reflect us but those we allow to rule us.” These idiots are on our payroll and too bad that so many here in NZ are still asleep and brainwashed.

These anti-terror laws and mostly about instilling fear and about controlling the masses when they have had enough and start to rise up. That is why donkey jonkey is working with the US on this trumped up anti-terrorist insanity. John Key is beyond a disgrace and a massive embarrassment here in NZ and so is the biased and owned Journalism here.

They can not wait to unroll their weapons against the people and though this is shocking to write and read, it is true and for further info on this – check out the extremely viral present document released called ” NASA WAR DOCUMENT ” : https://www.facebook.com/NasaWarDocumentVsHumanity/?fref=ts

  1. Ive not voted Labour in years. Today they did me proud by walking out. Finally they grew gonads. Keep it up. Well done.

  2. You write @ Martyn Bradbury

” We are a better country than this. ”

No,we’re not entirely. There’re a few notable exceptions and that’s all.
Mostly, I’d say we’re fucked. Thirty years of neoliberalism’s poisoned our minds and our humanity. Its $-toxins have permeated into the inner most regions of our hearts and minds. Like a parasite , it’s invaded , taken over, and now rules us without mercy. Even here, you can read logical fallacy drivel hurriedly and brainlessly written for those minds still wavering.
I bet. If jonky mooted bringing back hanging? All the psychiatrically diseased libertines would garb their cocks and head off to the gallows with their kids and a picnic brunch to take selfies with the dead.
It’s a very dangerous thing to do. To underestimate the enemy. Many wars were lost because of that. Jonky should be mocked less and feared more.
We should be deeply afraid of this kind of politician. He’s a very, very dangerous little creature. Particularly when he starts capitalising on the most base of our instincts. Hatred , fear, jealousy, anger but perhaps worst of all, our stupidity. Jonky appeals to the terminally stupid and I hate to say it but that’s most people.

    The solution ?

We have a whip round and pay Sonny Bill Williams to run for Prime Minister in 2017. Electrolytes anyone ? Idiocracy http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0387808/

  3. Yes, that IS the issue that is being raised by Labour, Kelvin Davies and the opposition. It is the human rights aspect and the lack of natural justice in a civilised society that is being questioned. This is an issue that all decent people of all parties should be concerned about. John Key has been despicable to frame this as “Labour supports rapists”. That is just a disgraceful cheap shot, unbecoming of a Prime Minister. Key has completely misrepresented the issue and has blatantly lied. The speaker too has been disgraceful for not pulling up Key on this.
This will go down as one of the most shameful days in the history of our parliament and our Prime Ministers.

  4. Scum. Key should be deported to Yankee land for the political economic terrorist he is.He’s a gutless money grubber. Australia? They’ve gone mad the stupid shits, time to make Australia just another foreign ahole dump, because they are.

  5. .. and surprise, no surprise, On-line MSM have already buried the braying ShonKey antics in Parliament. Expected this of The Press/Stuff/UnFairFux in Carter and Shonkey country. Even the ODT has relegated it. Only National Radio is continuing to report on the ShonKey obscenity and subsequent developments. It was not an off-the-cuff/brain fade moment. It was intentional and planned. Watch the body language and eyes of his acolytes on the Parliamentary video footage. Classic Cros/Tex tactics that work only if you and your mates control the media. Lil’ Lord Haw Haw Joyce will be well pleased. TPP – what’s that?

  6. +100 Good Post Martyn…John Key has shown himself up for what he is…anti human rights ( this is no surprise… look at his support of Saudi Arabia and Israel) and possibly racist…because if this incarceration were to be happening to Jews he would not support it …but it is ok for Maori and New Zealanders to be incarcerated

I am waiting for some one to take Australia to the United nations for violation of human rights …if not crimes against humanity

  7. Did anyone see Poodle Gower read out Key’s list of lies on the 6pm news last night? Shitty journalism from a shitty journalist.

    http://www.3news.co.nz/nznews/distant-riot-causes-unrest-at-home-2015111017

Paddy claimed there are 22 Kiwi murders, 34 people who have committed child sex offences and 16 rapists or sex offenders, before then announcing that forgetting the politics, “these psychos are on their way out here”.

I’m not sure when creating a climate of fear was non-political, but that’s Gower-logic.

RNZ reports different figures from Peter Dutton (Minister for Immigration and Border Protection):

“Mr Dutton has also released figures on the make-up of convicted criminals being held at Christmas Island.
Of the 199 detainees, 113 have convictions, with 71 of those serious offenders.
That includes 11 for armed robbery, 27 for assault, five child sex offences, two for manslaughter and four for rape or sexual assault.”

The problem we have in NZ isn’t that Key & Co. lie without hesitation – I expect that from Tories. But our problem is in our journalism. Gower is not a journalist – he’s a mouthpiece for Key and he has no problem announcing lies from the Government on the 6pm news without doing basic fact-checking.

Why do you think they handed you imaginary figures just as you went on air Paddy? Because you’re not a journalist.

When will Paddy be fired? A so called journalist like Paddy is incompatible with democracy

    • Mr Dutton is a yabbering simian oaf who would fit well with the current National Party in NZ – he couldn’t tell the truth if his life depended on it!….like most of the oafs in the LNP government.
From a prominent Australian blogger , Bob Ellis…..
“This yabbering simian oaf is killing and torturing and denying prescribed medication to, in my belief, an unacceptable number of innocent people. And, worse than that, or almost worse than that, he is lying about his own major crimes with a rehearsed and blithering glibness that would bring a blush to the cheeks of Josef Goebbels. Anyone who criticises our border-protection triumphs is a hardened criminal, he says, or, worse, Barrie Cassidy.

He continues to cover up the murder of Reza Barati, the blossoming pregnancy of Abyan, the rape of children on Nauru, the trade in blow-jobs on that island, and the suicide or murder of Fazel Chegeni and he is obstructing thus the course of justice and should be in gaol. ”
There are people being grabbed and held who have been charged and aquitted, people convicted of crimes as serious as dangerous driving, and people who have no criminal convictions at all – just associate with one of the current governments pet hates, bikie gangs! (Ko Rutene)
      http://www.perthnow.com.au/news/decorated-nz-soldier-ko-rutene-is-being-detained-in-australia/news-story/a3fb3466efebe5db56ea4978afa3b9e6
Countryboy, as usual, has a good handle on it.

  8. It’s time to address national propaganda for what it is propaganda.
Accusing labour/greens of backing rapists and sex offenders is a “glittering generality”, “ad-nauseam” and “appeal to fear”.

Calling tppa protesters “rent a crowd” is labeling and add nauseam same as “anti trade”.

These techniques are all over the internet, wikipedia ha a good page.

  9. Martyn, it’s a bit disingenuous to call these NZers “civilians who have nothing more than a basic 1 year imprisonment crime”. Check out these figures from Herald website below. The 1 year figure is a minimum; surely, many of these crimes would have warranted long incarcerations. They are not good people.

    The figures:
    • Total number of New Zealanders facing deportation: 585

    • By offence
    Assault: 121
Theft, robbery, breaking and entering: 83
    Drug offences: 64
    Child sex offences: 34
    Murder/manslaughter: 22
    Rape, sex offences: 16
    Other violence offences: 120 (approx.)
    Other non-violent offences: 80 (approx.)

    (Australian Government, May 2015)

    • New Zealand ex-criminals already deported to New Zealand: 167

    (NZ Government, October 2015)

    • Details of the crimes the 40 NZers who are currently there have just been released: No rapists and No murderes apparently..

btw, murder and manslaughter is not the same thing.

    • And the guy in a wheelchair whose only “crime” was using painkilling drugs without a prescription, a totally VICTIMLESS “crime”!

Also…. they have done their time, and most of them have learned their lesson and have been good citizens for years. All this shit aill do is to re-criminalise some of them! So, your “logic” is a load of baloney!

This is POLITICAL rubbish, playing the anti-NZ card along with the “get tough on crime” card, to appeal to the redneck base, which you are obviously agreeing with.

  10. In Parliament again today a number of women (and men) MPs from Labour and Greens, either walked out voluntarily in disgust, or were evicted by the corrupt Speaker, for standing up and stating as victims of sexual abuse, they are offended by FJK’s comments yesterday.

Question No 4 from Meteria Turei asked does the PM stand by his statement yesterday … “well you back the rapists.” FJK’s response was he did!

Speaker Carter’s argument for not taking FJK to task yesterday, was he didn’t hear the offensive replies directed at Opposition and the complaints came too late for him to ask FJK to withdraw and apologize! WTF ???????? Obviously dancing to FJK’s tune!

The Speaker was asked by several Opposition members from Labour, NZ First and NZ Greens this afternoon to make FJK apologize for his statements yesterday, but Carter wouldn’t have a bar of it!

So there you go. That’s the state of our Parliament as it stands at present.

FJK and his mate Carter have no qualms about Kiwis not being adequately represented in the House, through Opposition MPs walking out or being dismissed for standing their ground on behalf of NZers!

Seems FJK and Carter are running the show now, abusing their positions of power, booting democracy out the door!

Where is the Governor General? He should be holding both FJK and Carter to account! But he isn’t, because he’s part of the odious corrupt game! That’s why FJK put him there!

Never thought I’d live to see the day when Parliament became a cesspit of stinking filthy sewer rats. That’s my observation of the past two days sessions! And it can only deteriorate from now on I fear!

  11. We are a better country than this? Something to ponder: The women who walked out of Parliament are trying to get people to see the real world we inhabit.

The real world we inhabit suggests the women who left the House should have gone to some upmarket clothing store to buy some fancy clothes that they can wear to the ceremony where David Carter will be knighted.

The raiment should still be in fashion when the same happens for John Key. They might need a plane fare as his will undoubtedly be at Buckingham Palace.

That is the real world and it makes me vomit.

  12. I know some NZers think the sun shines out of John Key’s rear-end and they will naturally jump to his defence even though he is coming across as a pathetic excuse of a human being let alone a PM(and representative of NZers).
Just today we heard of a NZ soldier who just happened to be Key’s body-guard in Afghanistan now imprisoned in Australia. And it is unlikely Key will go out of his way to help this former soldier. Why?Because the former soldier is not as famous as the All Blacks. The All Blacks are known to the world(according to John Key)and hence the need for Key to hunt for photo opportunities with the All Blacks even right down to swilling beer in THEIR changing rooms.A former NZ soldier is a nobody and like the families of the Pike River 29 has become quickly forgotten once his usefulness(Used by date)has ended in John Key’s scheme of things..
It’s time the National government realised that the temper tantrums etc of their Dearest Leader(Key)is making them look like a gutless lot who are only in the job for the pay packet and perks of the job eg luxury travel to the RWC games.
There are more important matters than the RWC but Key cannot deal with those important matters because they are beyond his feeble capabilities. When things get too much for Key he buggers off to Hawaii in the hope the heat dies down when he must return(reluctantly on his part as he hates NZ and NZers more than he loves and adores the US and Obama).
Come on National.Do you want this idiot as your Leader???!!! Because every quip even in jest he makes is now reflecting back upon you. If you chuckle at his childish quips(and admit it National MPs he must always turn to look back upon you for confirmation that his comments are oh so funny)in the debating chamber then it’s reflecting upon you at each time.
If I was a National MP(and thankgoodness I am not because I would cringe from now on every time Key opens his mouth)I would be re-evaluating whether I am in the job for the perks and whether Key really should stand-down as PM.
When Key fails to stand up for NZers where-ever they are whether they be beggars and the homeless in the streets, towns and cities of NZ, a former soldier or even those who have committed crimes then he is no longer suitable as PM of our country and its people.
It’s time now for Key to stand-down as PM but I am sure he will not because he is like a school-yard bully and he will never admit he has made a mistake. Instead he will blame everyone else but the person staring back at him in the mirror.
Right now in one of his childish temper tantrums and because he has proved to be weak and gutless Key is blaming Davis and even the Opposition MPs.It takes a real man to admit mistakes and to endeavour of fixing his mistakes. But it takes a weakling(like Key)to always blame everyone else but himself for HIS failings.
And so we do not have a real man as PM of NZ.Instead we have a weak and gutless little man who thinks he is a big fish in a little pond.

  13. To sum up the situation….

    (1) Many of these people have been in Australia for decades, since they were small children, and were denied citizenship by a nasty law change that was made retrospective, in an act of sheer malice, for political gain. They are effectively Australian, and have no real links with NZ.

    (2) The majority of their “crimes” were actually relatively minor, and in some cases not really “crimes” at all, like belonging to a mororcyle club. One guy, who is in a wheelchair, was convicted of a so-called “drug offence”, but all he did was use painkilling drugs without a prescription!

    (3) NZ citizens are treated like second class citizens in Australia, denied many benefits, but in NZ, Australian citizens have full rights afer two years.

    (4) They are being mistreated while in the “detention centres”, with no redress.

    (5) Key has “form” regarding sexual crime. He defunded the rape crisis service, he ridiculed a political opponent for standing up to violence aginst women, his govt allowed a Malaysian diplomat to be spirited out of the country when facing a charge of sexual assault. One of his own MPs, on the verge of becoming a minister, suddenly resigned, and it has been covered up why, but the whole country knows, i will not say any more. There have been similar cases by his ex-MPs also.

    (6) One of them, Po Haapu, is a former soldier who served in Afghanistan, and was three time decorated for bravery. He has never commited ANY crime, but has been detained for belonging to a motorcycle club! He is a model citizen, and PM Key actually shook his hand in Afghanistan in 2010, but is now refusing to help him. Furthermore… there was a major incident in Afghanistan involving the NZ military, a nasy firefight with the Taliban, and this guy was part of the force that went to the rescue of the NZ soldiers who had been ambushed, and it was him who carried out the body of their dead officer.

So… Key is very much indulging in an exercise of the “pot calling the kettle black”.
