The Standard is still down.

TDB has offered their bloggers a space on our platform until The Standard gets back online.

UPDATE: They are now back online

  1. A figurative handshake at least.

Can it be followed up with permission to have the link on TS to TDB reinstated?

Progressives in NZ need all the teams working together. If TS and TDB can figure out how to do so, then there is hope for the rest of us.

  2. Point made. TDB and TS may disagree at times but are essentially on the same side. Different ideas on how to achieve them, but basically the same aims.

  3. Wonder if they got hacked like “the blog we can’t name” and when Hager’s book will come out

  4. Good one TDB.

Kiwis of the left persuasion need alternative news source sites, distant from the BS of msm. We are pulling for the same side, so we should all work together. In this case, TDB has demonstrated it’s possible to do so. Well done TDB guys 🙂

  5. “Canadian faces $20k fine, jail time for refusing to unlock phone during airport check.
A 38-year old Canadian citizen is facing up to a year in jail and a fine of up to 25,000 Canadian dollars for refusing to unlock his cell and thus “obstructing” an in-depth security screening by the border service officials at the Halifax airport.
    http://rt.com/news/238241-canadian-charged-cellphone-passcode/
Alain Philippon from Ste-Anne-des-Plaines, Quebec, has been detained and charged with “obstructing border officials” after he refused to provide his BlackBerry phone password to Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officers upon his arrival from the Dominican Republic this week.

“Philippon refused to divulge the passcode for his cell phone, preventing border services officers from their duties,” the Canada Border Services Agency told AFP.

It was not announced why the Quebecan was selected for an in-depth examination, but the agency says that the Customs Act allows border officials to examine “all goods and conveyances including electronic devices, such as cell phones and laptops.”

This must not be allowed to happen here! Wake up, NZers!

    • Diana, if this happens in New Zealand, our jails will be filling up very quickly; our tourism industry will take a bit hit; and we’ll become known as the North Korea of the South Pacific.

Thank you, National Party – the party of freedom!

    • Do NOT disturb the sleeping hobbits, please, it may discourage Hollywood to finance another movie here, JK says.

  6. Tried loading TS tonight, while I hardly ever bother with them anymore. At just after 11 pm the website was NOT loading, again. Lynn must be working on further “improvements”, as he so often announces?!

  8. Hopefully when we get the Left wing Blog sites finally working together again with respect for each other then we need to get our Opposition Parties to do the same right?
