It’s a rather inane argument. It would be similar to someone arguing that Angela Merkel should be supporting Socialist policies because she was brought up in the former East Germany.

The point is the Key benefitted from those policies. Now he’s undermining them.
If you can’t see that, that speaks more about you than the issue at hand.
Someone could argue that Angela Merkel got where she was by growing up under Socialism and shouldn’t have been involved in dismantling that system. That would be equally as wrong headed.
That’s pushing it… a bit like saying, therefore, John Key drives a Holden made in NZ and Angela Merkel has a moped or walks and takes the tram.
