Headline: Green Party Vision Of Health For New Zealand

I’m touring the country over the next couple of months to talk about our heath sector, what’s broken and the Green vision of what we can do to fix it.

Green Party health spokesperson Kevin Hague is taking the Green Party vision of an active, educated, and healthy society on the road.

In conjunction with local Green Party branches, Mr Hague is travelling the length of New Zealand, hosting public meetings in upwards of 25 venues around the country starting in Northland on the 25th of February.

Kevin will be speaking about the challenges facing us all in health and healthcare as well as positive Green solutions, including a focus on preventing illness.

“I’m touring the country over the next couple of months to talk about our heath sector, what’s broken and the Green vision of what we can do to fix it,” Green Party health spokesperson Kevin Hague said today.

“We are facing a tidal wave of health issues; diabetes rates soaring, mounting costs of aged care, and not enough nurses and doctors to look after us all.

“The simple fact is that the current Government has avoided the big issues in health. They have taken the approach of not rocking the boat in the short term, but all that’s going to lead to is a bigger problem in the future. They’re not putting in enough money, and what they are putting in they’re spending on the wrong things.

“Health Minister Ryall is trying to pull the wool over our eyes and tell us that all is fine, but we just aren’t getting the full health check that we need on the state of our health system.

“This tour is about the real issues and the real solutions.

“I’ll be meeting with people who work in the Health sector and the general public to talk about health issues in New Zealand.

“The Green Party has a plan for delivering good lives and a healthy future for everyone. After more than 25 years in the Health sector I am excited about our plan and about sharing it with New Zealanders.”
