TDB Summer Election Special: When will the media ask hard questions about why John Key resigned?

The official story as to why John Key, one of NZs most popular Prime Minister’s ever, just decided to quit is as follows…

John Key is such a great man with none of the guile of normal politicians, he has simply decided to step away from the Prime Ministership and resign at the next election. Never before has such an amazing God of a man walked amongst mere mortals, we are humbled he has even bothered to give us his time.

…this version has been dutifully echoed by a compliant mainstream media who still refuse to acknowledge the dirty politics and mass surveillance lies of this man.

So when is some hard scrutiny of what really happened going to occur? Seeing as no one in the mainstream media has even managed to track down Jason Ede yet and we live in a  country where the Police will illegally search a journalists house because that journalist has humiliated the Government, the chances of a full investigation into the real allegations as to why Key has stepped down is highly unlikely.

Stuff political punters are predicting a bombshell in 2017, so they must also know the rumours and allegations that are swirling around Key’s stepping down, but they will be terrified of the defamation possibilities it could bring about.

What could occur however is the sudden release of a book, the sudden release of the 2 terabytes of information that has been allegedly stolen from inside the Government or a totally fictitious short story that in no way represents any legal representation of the truth.

However it happens, NZers will never look at Key the same again.

Here’s to some disruption in 2017.

  1. I hope our friend mr hager may have some important info coming out before the election maybe another book???. I hope so might shed some light on the key resignation…

    • Except, Jono, that last time Hager wrote a (very well researched, measured and balanced) book exposing some of the appalling behaviour of the Nats, and their ilk, JK brushed it off, saying that Hager is a “left wing conspiracy theorist”…. because ” I just think he is”. And most of NZ just swallowed that.

  2. Bloodly good subject that is Martyn.

    I reckon there is some stuff on him that was dredged up when hackers took out Bilderberg yesterday, as they stole all the files and promise to now leak the details of all the Bilderberg participants soon so John Key as PM had attended the Bilderberg and his details of his assets/bank transactions/business and assets are all stored in those Bilderberg files and now they mat become public information along with other Bilderberg participants that has attended the annual conferences.

    May be that Bill English or Steven Joyce also has been there as the records show Key had four attendees including him.

    They also may be in the shit also.

    2017 may become a very interesting year, so hold onto your seat mate.

    He does not look sick, his wife may have been concerned about his work load and so, but there are few signs that any issues existed in those areas.

    Not being a career politician and having a merchant banking career before sitting in Parliament, having also accumulated significant wealth, may have given him a reason to call it quits as he did, but really, why would he resign suddenly, when in various media interviews not so long before he seemed to indicate to lead National into a fourth term of government???

    Something fishy this is, indeed, and I suspect we may over coming months learn something about John Key, that would have destroyed his political career anyway, hence his early departure and change of mind.

    Now, what is Nicky Hager working on at present, one may ask?

    So only weeks or months ago it all seemed as if Key was keen on winning a fourth term for the Nats, suddenly he resigns, thus putting all earlier comments into question. This does not add up.

    • yes and like Winston Peters i thought Bill English sounded surprised, caught out, if not down right shocked at Key’s announcement …also a tad cynical

  5. Right now the NZ media are saying John Key resigned from the pm job because of love. Yeah right. John Key does love something and it’s money. He has probably been offered some better paying job somewhere else in the world.
    Either that or he put so much of NZ taxpayers money into the Clinton Foundation and perhaps some of his own on the misguided belief that Hilary would win that he realises he has cooked his goose.
    Besides for John Key there is no point in remaining in a country like NZ that he just so despises.

    Key’s waning in the public eye was probably a mixture of things; on-going ministerial scandals, f**k-ups, and policy u-turns; growing social problems; increasing housing unaffordability; Key’s “blokiness” being viewed more as cocky disdain; Hager’s revelations of dirty politics emanating from the Beehive Ninth Floor; and a general unease from the Middle Classes that things were not getting better for them.

    On top of which the British exit from the European Union, and the fantastical election of Trump as U.S. President, has shown that things are not well with Western democracies.

    Key has seen the writing on the wall. A fourth term could only be possible with Winston Peters as a coalition partner, and as Key said in February 2011;

    “I don’t see a place for a Winston Peters-led New Zealand First in a government that I lead.”

    I believe Key truly viewed any coalition with Peters as repugnant as many would view working with another populist demagogue, recently elected to lead the American Empire.

    Key’s political demise was “death by a thousand cuts”.

    Or, maybe he just got bored/burned out.

    Presumably that is a rhetorical question, since we already know the answer: never!

    The purpose of the mainstream media is to keep the general populace uninformed/misinformed, and to keep them believing in the economic-political system, even as the economic-political system rapidly destroys world and ultimately destroys the general populace.

    Therefore, expect only a lot more distraction, lying and obfuscation from the mainstream media ‘going forward’. It has to be that way because the entire economic-political system is totally dependent on the mainstream media never telling the truth about anything of significance.

      We will hear the truths elsewhere but surely not with the suck up puppets and bought media outlets in this country — ( Stuff, Herald etc. )

      I feel we can count on the truth coming out about why this slimy PM quickly left but it will not come out in our local MSM.

  8. john key is an analyst. Good chance there will be a large downturn in dairy prices in 2017, which would have seriously damaged his rep with farmers. Fonterra has been stockpiling milk powder and releasing it strategically to keep prices reasonable, but this can only happen for so long. Also there is a rumour circulating that max key is up on drugs charges, perhaps even being part of an organised crime group. These would be serious charges that could also rock the national boat.

    • speaking of rumours i heard a huge donation from NZ had been given to the Clinton campaign ‘Clinton Foundation’…absolutely no idea if it is true or who gave the money

    Just as we keep asking of the whereabouts of Jason Ede, we must also keep questioning the real reason Key resigned as PM. Keep the pressure up. Make it uncomfortable for the status quo.

    Something will have to give … eventually. And when it does, I hope it takes the snake Key with it, big time! History will judge him and I doubt it will be in his favour.

  11. Key had lost my vote long before he quit. I was becoming very tired of his bland, snap replies given without any thought to the questions being asked of him. I think he could not face the possibility of losing an election. It was time he moved on.

    Never as a citizen of this country have I seen a politician whose word was so utterly meaningless and that is saying something. In fact it had reached the point where the opposite of what he said was true and where only a tiny slither of what was ever said could be relied upon as truthful.

    The question I have had for years is what was the real reason this fuck ever became PM?

    The Chief Executive of Ministry of Social Development should also fall down on his sword because he was the instigator of this discrimination against one nationality and is the cause of John Key’s downfall FOR NOT DOING THE RIGHT THING – after all, watch the news video – John Key’s voice was emotional and broken up – did he resign on his own accord? Who would want to resign if you are at the top of the National dungheap – nothing could shake his popularity – not increased homelessness, not inflated house prices, not poorer health services, not rampant burglaries, rapes, assaults and the closing of police stations throughout the country, NOTHING!
