US strikes deal with Taiwan to cut tariffs, boost chip investment
Taiwan vowed Friday to remain the world’s “most important” AI chipmaker, after reaching a trade deal with the United States that will reduce tariffs on the island’s shipments and increase Taiwanese investment on US soil.
Taiwan is a powerhouse in producing chips, a critical component in the global economy, but the United States wants more of the technology made there.
The agreement “will drive a massive reshoring of America’s semiconductor sector”, the US Commerce Department said.
Under the deal, Washington will lower tariffs on Taiwanese goods to 15%, down from a 20% “reciprocal” rate meant to address US trade deficits and practices it deems unfair.
Taiwanese Premier Cho Jung-tai praised negotiators Friday for “delivering a well-executed home run” after months of talks.
..Trump is goading Xi and looking to have 40% of Taiwan’s chips manufactured in America.
America’s military now operate at such a high level of technology that they can exert overwhelming force on specific weak points, like Maduro’s kidnapping, like the missile interference in protecting Israel, like the Iranian nuclear site strikes – Trump can order his military to do dangerous things without much risk to themselves or their assets which is a maximising influence on all other issues.

Hard to invade yourself, aka, China invading its island province known in the West as Taiwan. Otherwise, Trump/USA is doing whatever it needs to do to contain, if not destroy, the three biggest threats to US hegemony – China, Russia and Iran.
The unfortunate thing here for New Zealand is that we’ll eventually get thrown into their toxic plans just like Europe, parts of Asia/Middle East and South America already have.
